Wu dong Qian Kun: I, Lin Langtian, Refuse to be a Supporting Character

Boom!

A deafening explosion echoed across the sky as the defensive array protecting the Tianxuan Sect disciples shattered. Instantly, a wave of wild, chaotic energy unleashed itself in every direction.

Splat!

With the array broken, the Tianxuan Sect disciples lost their last shield. The unleashed energy swept over them, causing over a hundred of them to go pale and cough up blood as chaos and devastation filled their ranks.

As the destructive force finally dissipated, countless eyes turned to the scene below, where disciples lay scattered, many faces frozen in shock and terror.

The loss was staggering!

Many onlookers felt a shiver down their spine, finally realizing just how terrifying it was to challenge Lin Langtian.

”What ruthless power! So, this is the strength of the new prodigy from Yuan Gate who defeated Yuan Cang and now leads the Fire Sect…”

Xue Wan from the Shen Sect watched, her expression growing grim as she regretted not forging a firm alliance with the Fire Sect when she had the chance.

”Lin Langtian, I will tear you apart!”

In the midst of the Tianxuan Sect’s devastated ranks, Gengtian looked up at Lin Langtian, who stood towering atop his demonic beast, and roared with venomous fury.

Beside him, Nalan and the other two main Tianxuan Sect fighters looked equally battered. Their faces were dark, and beneath the rage in their eyes, there was a flash of deep-seated fear. They couldn’t fathom how Lin Langtian alone had managed to break through their combined force of disciples and the protective array, leaving them in such a state.

Lin Langtian looked down coldly at Gengtian and the others. After a brief silence, his voice, void of all emotion, fell over them like a shadow. ”The blood debt owed to the Fire Sect… today, I’ll collect it all.”

As he spoke, the evil eye at his brow glowed with dark energy, the scarlet lines spilling into the massive demonic beast beneath him. Its giant eye slowly opened again, conjuring streaks of deadly black light.

”You fool! Don’t you dare!” Gengtian’s face twisted in horror as he watched.

Shhhh!

Lin Langtian ignored the threat. With a wave of his hand, those beams of black light shot down like the scythes of death, sweeping across the remaining disciples of the Tianxuan Sect.

”Retreat!” Gengtian shouted urgently.

But without the array to protect them, the Tianxuan Sect disciples had no escape. They poured their yuan power into defensive barriers around themselves, yet these feeble defenses were useless against the destructive force of the beast’s energy.

The black light cut through them, draining the life from one disciple after another in an instant. Faces frozen in terror fell silent and lifeless.

No blood. No screams. Just bodies dropping, one after another, as if they had vanished from existence.

In a matter of seconds, more than half of the Tianxuan Sect disciples were gone.

”You filthy scum! Our sect won’t forgive you!” Nalan shouted, his eyes bloodshot with rage.

”Oh, you enjoyed killing my Fire Sect disciples earlier, didn’t you?” Lin Langtian sneered. ”How does it feel now?”

Gengtian’s eyes flickered with crazed desperation, a toxic mix of hatred filling his gaze. Then he took a deep breath and shouted out in a rough voice, ”Lin Langtian, maybe we went too far earlier, but what you’re doing now is too much. If this continues, it’ll end badly for both of us.”

”The Tianxuan Sect holds as much power in the West Xuan Region as Yuan Gate does in the East. If you enrage us, I doubt you’ll be able to answer to your own Yuan Gate elders once you return. Don’t forget, Yuan Cang has his eyes on you, too.”

”Your Fire Sect has suffered, yes, but so has the Tianxuan Sect. Let’s leave it at that.”

”Heh. A true brother of the Tianxuan Sect’s ’Prince.’ You know when to yield…” Lin Langtian chuckled coldly from above but shook his head. ”But I already told you: a blood debt must be paid in blood. So you all must die.”

”Damn it!” Gengtian’s anger finally boiled over as he turned to his remaining disciples, his voice steely with fury. ”All of you, fight to the death!”

”Yes!”

The Tianxuan Sect disciples, though gripped by fear, understood there was no other choice. Deep down, they regretted ever attacking the Fire Sect, realizing too late the terrible cost of Lin Langtian’s revenge.

Swish!

In that moment, Gengtian and the remaining disciples charged forward, unleashing their strongest techniques in a final, desperate assault, the air around them trembling with raw energy.

Watching them, Lin Langtian merely shook his head in disdain. The evil eye on his brow gleamed with deadly intensity, while the giant eye of the beast below pulsed with immense power.

Shhh!

Another wave of black energy erupted from the beast’s eye, and life drained away from the Tianxuan Sect disciples at a terrifying speed.

One final, massive beam of black light shot from the beast’s eye, crashing into Gengtian and the remaining three fighters. Their faces flashed with horror as they saw the attack closing in.

”It’s over…”

As the black light struck them, Lin Langtian’s cold voice echoed through the skies.

The horrifying black energy pierced the heavens and collided with the four Tianxuan Sect elites.

Sizzle!

In that instant, everyone saw the terror etched on their faces. Through the black energy, Gengtian stared at Lin Langtian, a mix of dread, disbelief, and regret in his eyes.

It was impossible to accept, even now, that the entire elite force of the Tianxuan Sect had been obliterated by a single man.

The Tianxuan Sect was annihilated.

”Miscalculated…”

A voice, filled with resentment, slipped from Gengtian’s lips. His vision quickly darkened, and under the terrifying black light, the last spark of life vanished from his eyes.

Now, looking at the empty landscape before them, silence blanketed the space. No one dared to breathe too loudly. All eyes stared blankly at the spot where the Tianxuan Sect’s disciples had once been, now littered with bodies. Nearly six hundred Tianxuan Sect disciples had been wiped out — none were spared.

Complete annihilation!

The onlookers felt a chill seep into their hearts, spreading through their bodies and chilling them to the bone. This guy was ruthless. Gazes turned toward Lin Langtian, still standing in the air, his form drenched in blood, sending shivers up their spines.

In all the years since the Demon Realm opened, with countless sects from the Eastern and Western Xuan Regions participating, never before had the elite disciples of a major sect been completely wiped out like this.

”The Tianxuan Sect is really going to go insane over this,” Wu Qun muttered, taking a deep breath to calm the turmoil within him. His face had gone pale, showing how shaken he was by Lin Langtian’s actions. Around him, the disciples from the Nine Heavens Palace nodded in agreement. Elite disciples like those chosen for the Sect Tournament were typically the best, so this loss would be painful for even the resourceful Tianxuan Sect to bear.

”Since entering the Demon Realm, this has no longer been a training ground; it’s a life-or-death trial where anything is possible. The Tianxuan Sect’s ambush on the Fire Sect earlier showed no intention of mercy. If you and Lin Langtian hadn’t arrived when you did, the Fire Sect might have met the same end,” Qingzhu remarked. ”But Gengtian and the others underestimated Lin Langtian’s strength and willingness for vengeance. It cost them dearly.”

”First he defeated Yuan Cang, and now Gengtian,” Wu Qun nodded with admiration. ”From now on, I think Lin Langtian will undoubtedly be recognized as the top young talent of all four regions.”

”Still,” Qingzhu mused, ”though the Demon Realm’s rules may justify his actions, the Tianxuan Sect won’t let this slide. This is far from over.”

With her gaze fixed on Lin Langtian’s figure, Qingzhu thought, He’s turning the entire Eastern and Western Xuan Regions upside down. Yuan Gate might be the head of the Eastern Region, but the Tianxuan Sect was also the top sect of the Western Xuan Region, with powerful forces behind it. And since Lin Langtian wasn’t a core Yuan Gate member, unlike Yuan Cang, he lacked close ties to the Gate’s three headmasters. This meant that should the Tianxuan Sect retaliate, Yuan Gate’s willingness to defend Lin Langtian might be limited.

In the sky above, the summoned evil beast finally dissipated, and Lin Langtian staggered. This brutal battle had left him feeling weak and fatigued, but the victory was his.

Buzz!

As he was about to descend, Lin Langtian heard a faint hum in the air. Narrowing his eyes, he saw a glowing array suspended there, emanating waves of energy.

”The Lesser Sealing Array?”

Seeing the powerful, floating artifact that Gengtian had left behind, Lin Langtian’s fatigue faded as his spirits soared. It was now an ownerless treasure, and he wasted no time in reaching out to claim it. This was his hard-won prize.

Many observed his movements, but none dared try to seize the artifact for themselves. His earlier ferocity was still vivid in their minds. As Lin Langtian secured the array, he tucked it away and made his way back to his Fire Sect allies.

”Master Lin Langtian!”

The Fire Sect disciples, filled with excitement, felt a wave of satisfaction after watching him destroy the Tianxuan Sect forces. After the slaughter of their brethren at the hands of the Tianxuan Sect, they had been filled with rage, and now, Lin Langtian had avenged them all.

After this battle, Lin Langtian’s place in their hearts was cemented. If he decided to lead them out of Yuan Gate, they would surely follow without hesitation.

”Master Lin Langtian, what are our next steps?” Song Yun asked, respect and awe evident in his eyes.

”Rest here for now. Tend to the wounded.” Lin Langtian surveyed the area, seeing that of the nearly one hundred Fire Sect disciples, only half remained, and most were injured. He, too, felt a deep weariness and needed time to recover.

”All disciples, rest on the spot!” Song Yun called out with no objections from anyone. The remaining disciples sat in circles with Lin Langtian at the center.

Qingzhu, watching from a nearby mountain, understood their strategy. After a moment of consideration, she summoned a jade vial into her hand and, with a flick of her wrist, sent it as a beam of light toward Lin Langtian.

”Hm?” Lin Langtian caught the jade vial, surprised, and looked over toward Qingzhu.

”That’s Nine Heavens Palace Jade Essence. It may help with your injuries,” she called out softly.

Lin Langtian hesitated, then gave her a small smile and a bow of gratitude. ”Thank you.”
