Wu dong Qian Kun: I, Lin Langtian, Refuse to be a Supporting Character

The Fire Division.

In the depths of the Fire Division mountains, there was a gravel-covered plaza, lined with bustling shops selling all kinds of treasures, from spiritual herbs and weapons to armors, martial arts techniques, and beast crystals.

This was the Fire Division’s main trading area, where thousands of disciples gathered to exchange items. Today, however, a large crowd had formed around two groups of disciples within the plaza, watching the tense standoff between them.

Both groups were composed of Fire Division disciples, but the atmosphere between them was exceptionally hostile.

The confrontation was between Zhang Hao and Lin Langtian, both chief disciples of the Fire Division. Most onlookers knew that Zhang Hao, a long-standing chief disciple, was unhappy with Lin Langtian’s recent promotion and was using various means to suppress him. So, seeing Zhang Hao’s followers bullying Lin Langtian’s supporters wasn’t surprising.

”Mo Tie, give me back the Fire Spirit Crystal you stole from me, or you won’t be leaving here today,” sneered a thin, sinister-looking man leading Zhang Hao’s followers as he glared at Mo Tie.

”Steal? I, Mo Tie, have done nothing wrong! When have I ever stolen your Fire Spirit Crystal?” Mo Tie retorted angrily. A faint red mark was visible on his chest, a result of the injury he received when this sinister-looking man blocked his way earlier.

”Hmph, my Fire Spirit Crystal went missing, and aside from you filthy newcomers, who else would dare take it? Don’t think that just because Lin Langtian protects you, you can act recklessly. The Fire Division is far from being your playground!” the man said, his eyes flashing with a sinister gleam.

”Framing us just because you feel like it!” Mo Tie snarled. After days of being oppressed by the older disciples, his anger finally erupted. ”Lin Langtian won’t let you get away with this!”

At the mention of Lin Langtian, a look of hesitation flickered across the man’s face.

As the champion of the Hundred Dynasties Battle and the fastest chief disciple in Fire Division history, Lin Langtian was already becoming a legendary figure within Yuan Gate.

”Hmph, so what if it’s Lin Langtian? Brother Zhang Hao is on good terms with Senior Brother Ling Chi. The Three Princes and the Spirit Generals are the real core of Yuan Gate disciples,” the sinister man scoffed.

Even with Lin Langtian’s talent, his status as a mere chief disciple wasn’t enough to guarantee his influence.

”Heh, why don’t we just teach these newcomers a lesson? That’ll remind them where they stand,” sneered another man standing with arms crossed beside the sinister disciple.

”Exactly,” replied yet another follower, chuckling as he nodded. They all served Zhang Hao and clearly resented these newcomers under Lin Langtian’s wing.

Hearing this, Mo Tie’s expression grew somber. Only he and Ling Zhi in his group had reached the Five-Origin Nirvana Realm, while the followers of Zhang Hao were older disciples in the Six- and Seven-Origin Nirvana Realms. The strength gap between them was clear.

”Let’s give them a little reminder,” said the sinister man coldly as crimson light surged around him. He leaped forward, revealing his strength at the peak of the Seven-Origin Nirvana Realm as he aimed to capture Mo Tie and his friends in a single move.

Whoosh!

But just as the man appeared in front of Mo Tie, ready to strike, a whistling sound cut through the air. Startled, the man quickly dodged as a stone struck a pillar nearby with a low thud.

”Who’s there?!”

The unexpected interruption made Zhang Hao’s followers frown as they turned to see three figures approaching. At the front stood a young man in green, his long hair fluttering in the breeze, radiating a relaxed, commanding presence that left the onlookers in awe.

In the Fire Division, who didn’t recognize this young man in green?

”Brother Langtian!” Mo Tie and his group cried out, their faces lighting up with joy at the sight of Lin Langtian.

To them, Lin Langtian symbolized strength and reliability. With him here, their troubles would soon be over.

”Are you all right?” Lin Langtian asked, stepping forward and looking at Mo Tie. Noticing the red mark on Mo Tie’s chest, Lin Langtian’s frown deepened slightly.

”No major harm, but if you’d come a little later, we might have been in serious trouble,” Mo Tie replied, casting a glance at the sinister man and his group. ”They’re the ones who have been bullying us.”

”I understand what’s been happening these past weeks. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you’re compensated for all you’ve endured,” Lin Langtian replied, a glint of coldness flashing in his eyes.

”Lin Langtian… so he’s out of the Martial Arts Pavilion,” muttered the sinister man, glancing warily at Lin Langtian.

Though they had the courage to push around Mo Tie and his friends, Zhang Hao’s followers lacked the nerve to challenge Lin Langtian himself.

”Oh, since Brother Lin Langtian has arrived, we won’t bother with the Fire Spirit Crystal matter. We’ll be on our way,” the sinister man said, trying to make a hasty retreat as he noticed Lin Langtian’s increasingly dark expression.

”Hmph, who said you could leave?”

As they tried to sneak away, Lin Langtian sneered, raising his hand. A massive hand of flames appeared midair and shot toward the sinister man and his companions.

”Oh no!”

Seeing the enormous flaming hand, the men’s faces paled, and they hastily unleashed their own martial arts techniques to block it. But no matter how powerful their strikes, they couldn’t stop the fiery hand for even a moment. Within seconds, the hand had seized them, its intense heat making them cry out in pain.

”Argh!”

Their screams echoed through the plaza as the onlookers paled, watching Lin Langtian with a mixture of fear and awe.

Not only was he powerful, but he was also merciless. This was not someone to trifle with.

Mo Tie and the others were thrilled to see Lin Langtian handling the situation so effectively. They had seen enough bloodshed in the ancient battlefield, and the ruthless competition within Yuan Gate had further hardened them. Seeing Lin Langtian’s fierce response only made them respect him more.

”Zhang Hao, your lackeys are finished. Or do you plan to keep hiding?” Lin Langtian called out, his gaze turning toward a specific spot with a mocking smile.

The crowd fell silent in surprise. Was Zhang Hao, the chief disciple, here as well?

”Lin Langtian, using such brutal methods against fellow disciples—aren’t you worried that the sect will punish you?” A voice rang out, and Zhang Hao stepped into the plaza, his face dark with rage as he saw his men writhing in pain within the flaming hand.

These followers were the ones he had sent to harass Mo Tie and his group, and Lin Langtian’s actions were a direct slap in the face.

”So, you finally decided to show yourself? I thought you were a rat, only daring to lurk in the shadows,” Lin Langtian said with a glint of icy disdain as he looked at Zhang Hao.

”Lin Langtian, you’re taking this too far! Even as chief disciples, I’m still above you. Today, I’ll teach you a lesson!” Zhang Hao was furious at being called a rat, his long-standing resentment flaring up.

Without further delay, he summoned a large, blazing sword from his palm, the intense heat rippling outward as he gripped the sword.

Boom!

With a wave of his sword, he slashed through the flaming hand, freeing his followers. Then, with lightning speed, he dashed toward Lin Langtian, leaving a trail of afterimages behind him.

Swish!

In a flash, Zhang Hao was directly in front of Lin Langtian, his eyes cold as he swung his flaming sword at him. The fiery blade cut through the air, leaving a scorched line on the ground even before it struck.

Clang!

Lin Langtian quickly reacted, flipping his hand to summon a massive black iron seal, which expanded rapidly and met the flaming sword with a fierce collision. Sparks flew, and a loud clanging sound filled the air.

The impact sent a shockwave through the plaza, forcing Zhang Hao back several steps.

But Zhang Hao’s combat instincts were sharp. The moment he was pushed back, he unleashed a flurry of sword strikes, each forming a flaming arc that slashed at the same spot on the black iron seal.

Boom!

Under Zhang Hao’s relentless assault, the black iron seal was knocked away. As it flew, Lin Langtian leapt atop it, flames swirling around him as he drew power from his inner furnace, channeling a massive surge of energy.

Bang!

Lin Langtian pressed down on the black iron seal with a fierce blow, scattering Zhang Hao’s fiery slashes and sending the seal hurtling back toward Zhang Hao with the force of a meteor.

Seeing the incoming iron seal, Zhang Hao’s eyes turned cold. Flames gathered around his fist, and he struck out with a forceful punch.

Boom!

The massive seal was knocked back, spinning like a toy between Lin Langtian and Zhang Hao as they exchanged blows, each one echoing through the air.

With a leap, Lin Langtian appeared once more atop the seal, gazing down at Zhang Hao with a hint of a cold smile.

”Such strength!” Zhang Hao muttered, realizing that Lin Langtian’s physical strength was far beyond what he’d expected. If they continued exchanging brute force attacks, he’d be the one to lose.

”Hmph, you’re strong, but The Emperor Flame Manual is still my ultimate move!”

Standing confidently on the ground, Zhang Hao held his flaming sword as he glared up at Lin Langtian. Taking a deep breath, he quickly formed several hand seals.

An intense energy began to emanate from him as flames burst forth, creating a terrifying pressure that filled the plaza.

The Emperor Flame Manual!

Many of the surrounding disciples tensed, recognizing the Fire Division’s most powerful technique.

As they watched Zhang Hao prepare his ultimate move, they turned to Lin Langtian, recalling that in their last duel, Lin Langtian had nearly lost to this same technique. Would this battle end in a similar stalemate?

”Oh, The Emperor Flame Manual? You’re not the only one who can use it.”

Seeing Zhang Hao’s preparations, Lin Langtian smirked, then began forming identical hand seals.

Boom! Boom!

Above them, fire clouds gathered, and the energy in the air grew wild. Streams of fire descended from the heavens, transforming the world around them into a realm of flames.

Standing atop the iron seal amidst the inferno, Lin Langtian stretched out his arms, a massive blaze swirling behind him.

For a moment, he looked like the incarnation of the flame emperor himself.

”Zhang Hao, prepare to be utterly defeated!” Lin Langtian’s domineering voice echoed across the plaza as he completed the powerful hand seal.

”What…?” gasped the Fire Division disciples as they watched Lin Langtian, their eyes wide in shock.

”Lin Langtian has mastered The Emperor Flame Manual as well?”
