Back to the 1980s: Becoming the Villain's Lucky Wife

”However, we need to handle design confidentiality properly. If any employee is found leaking information, not only will they be fired, but we will also sue them and ensure they are blacklisted from the industry. Any company that hires such a person will be making an enemy of us at Jiu Yi.”

Li Man said, ”The policies for rewards and punishments regarding this are already quite thorough. If someone really steals company designs, not only will we sue them, but they will also have to pay the company a certain amount in compensation.”

The reason Jiu Yi had developed so well over the years was because Qin Jiao took the fundamental rules of business operations very seriously.

Some of these rules were learned through the hard-won experience of many companies in her past life. In this life, Qin Jiao had studied law in advance and worked hard to help her own companies avoid many of those same pitfalls.

As the boss, she was being responsible for both her own finances and her employees.

”Alright, that’s all for now. Meeting adjourned.”

The others left, but Jiang Xiaoyue from the design department stayed behind. She closed the door and said cautiously, ”Xiao Jiao, can I talk to you about something personal?”

The two of them were boss and employee.

But Qin Jiao was also Jiang Xiaoyue’s mentor, someone who had discovered her talent and guided her in life.

They were also classmates and very good friends.

With business concluded and the door closed, this was now their private space.

Qin Jiao asked, ”Oh? What is it?”

”Your Uncle Qin San... does he have any plans to get married again?”

Qin Jiao was stunned. She hadn’t expected Jiang Xiaoyue to bring this up. ”I’m not too sure about that. Why do you ask?”

”Well... I just feel like Uncle Qin San is a really good person. I didn’t realize it before, but seeing him in North City these past two years, he seems so steady. And my mom has been alone for so many years. She didn’t remarry because of me, but now that she’s getting older, I want to find a companion for her.”

Jiang Xiaoyue’s mother, Jiang Ling, was forty-five this year. She was a little younger than Qin Jiao’s parents, but four years older than Qin Jiqun.

However, Qin Jiqun had spent the past few years working on a construction site, exposed to the wind and rain. He had gotten much tanner and had developed some wrinkles. When he stood next to Jiang Ling, you couldn’t really tell there was an age difference.

Still, this came as quite a surprise to Qin Jiao.

Qin Jiao said, ”I’m not sure if my uncle wants to get into another relationship. But his leg was injured on a construction site before. While it doesn’t affect his daily life, his joints ache whenever it rains. And then there’s the matter of his son, Xiao Tao.”

Jiang Xiaoyue replied, ”I know about all that. The main thing is, I think Uncle Qin San is a really steady person now. One time, my mom was even praising him at home, saying he’s had a hard time. So I was thinking, maybe I should try to set the two of them up?”

’It’s true that my uncle has changed over the years,’ Qin Jiao thought. ’He isn’t gluttonous and lazy or muddle-headed like he used to be.’

But when it came to matchmaking for her elders, Qin Jiao had no experience.

She said, ”I can’t promise you anything right away, but I can help you sound him out. I can ask my uncle if he has any intention of getting married again.”

”That would be great! Just ask him first. Xiao Jiao, you’re the best! If Uncle Qin San and my mom get together, then we’ll be relatives!”

Qin Jiao didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. ”I see what this is about. You just want to become relatives with your boss.”

”Haha, you figured it out! Too bad I’m not a guy, or I’d be pursuing you or one of your sisters.”

”Get out of here,” Qin Jiao said with a laugh.
