Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys

Chapter 1343: Chapter 453: Super Giant Demon Statue (2)

”Sizzle...”

Only to see the stone gate slowly open a small crack.

”Be careful!”

Suddenly, radiation ten times stronger than the outer area burst out from the crack, causing the pale green defensive membrane driven by the Ancient Tree Heart on both of them to violently shake and quickly be suppressed to a certain limit.

However, fortunately, when the green defensive membrane was less than ten centimeters from the body surface, it stabilized.

This shocked Rein!

Such high-intensity radiation!

No wonder Valziger, with its ancient large Wizard School foundation, had no better way to repair this place, forcing it to abandon this site which had consumed so much time and energy to construct.

”Fortunately, Rein, you brought two Ancient Tree Hearts. Otherwise, with just one, the high-intensity radiation inside would waste a significant portion of our energy.”

And through the crack, the sight behind the door left both of them stunned beyond words for a long time.

What should have been a somewhat spacious experimental area where many wizards would have once been busy now appeared like a ruin forgotten by time.

From the area right at the entrance extending inward, the floor of the spacious underground hall was covered in a thick layer of dust.

All across the surrounding walls were exploded and scorched radial marks of some kind of hot metal flow.

Near the entrance, more than a dozen damaged experiment tables and a messy pile of deformed experimental vessels were faintly visible.

Further in, within the area his sight could reach, Rein saw most of it reduced to pieces or powder, completely unrecognizable.

To the left and right of the door were deep hallways leading to unknown areas.

However, judging by the typical zoning of a wizard school, it’s highly likely to be the storage area, library, and living quarters, etc.

”The explosion most likely occurred right in front of us in the experimental area, with power beyond my imagination. There’s probably nothing preservable over in the experimental area.”

”Let’s head to the storage area on the left first.” Moria pondered briefly before making a decision.

”Okay.” Rein naturally had no objections to this.

From Moria’s tone, it seemed he’d already learned the layout of the Valziger School from the relics of the local wizards.

Additionally, if there’s anything to be gained, non-explosive core areas like the archive or storage area would be the most promising.

Thus, the two of them stepped into the dust-ridden irradiated zone one after the other.

Yet, as they really walked through the door, the sight of explosion marks and shattered tragic scenes that almost suffocated ordinary people or drove them insane made Rein’s mood somber.

”It should be just ahead.”

”Huh, it seems the Dust Removal Witch Array here is still functioning.” In Moria’s voice was an evident surprise.

Rein glanced down, indeed, the marble floor of this corridor area was spotless, sharply contrasting with the dusty floor they had just walked across, which felt almost like treading on cotton.

”But Dust Removal Witch Arrays are simple to draw, requiring next to no energy... It’s normal for it to still be running.” Moria mumbled thoughtfully.

”Rein, moving forward, we need to be more cautious. Perhaps, even within the core area, some defensive or alarm witch arrays might still be active.”

”Yes, sect leader.” Rein nodded in agreement.

Better safe than sorry.

The defensive witch arrays of the ancient wizard school might have some bizarre countermeasures, and even though he could rely on his Bloodline Transformation, it was best to be careful.

There were only a few doors along both sides of this corridor.

Soon, Moria and Rein came to the entrance of the first door, which was on the right side of the corridor and still slightly ajar, with a sign written in Akadian reading ’Reading Room.’

This immediately filled Rein’s heart with joy!

Before arriving, Rein had pondered what place might most likely preserve the Fourth Layer of the Steel Heart Advanced Meditation Method.

The most likely place, naturally, would be the reading room.

However, as Rein glanced inside through the gap, his heart sank, the joy that had just surged lasted less than a second before being extinguished by the scene inside.

Inside, although there were densely packed bookshelves, they had all neatly fallen to the left side at the moment.

Moreover, perhaps due to the room being close to the explosion area, the large wall on the right side of the room had been completely breached, almost directly connecting with the testing area.

On the ground, various sheepskin scrolls, hardcover, or iron-bound ancient books were scattered all over.

Rein, with a grim expression, walked quickly over and tried to pick up a scroll, but to his surprise, as soon as he touched it, the sheepskin scroll slipped through his fingers like flour.

He hadn’t even exerted any force, yet the sheepskin scroll crumbled completely to powder.

Moria also bent down, intending to pick up an iron-bound ancient book.

However, the originally sturdy ancient book with metal-adorned covers crumbled to powder as well, leaving only a few partially intact rusted thin iron pieces.

”Alas~ what a pity, these texts have been impacted by such high-intensity radiation for thousands of years, and their materials have completely cracked and aged, I’m afraid...” Moria lamented with a look of disappointment.

Nevertheless, Rein was naturally not resigned and walked further inside.

For generally speaking, the Wizard School would preserve more important information using witchcraft tools like memory crystals.

Logically, there was still a slight possibility that some could be preserved under such intense radiation.

Although... the hope was rather slim!

Sure enough, when Rein reached the deep part of the room, he discovered that the innermost cabinets had also fallen, with many shattered crystals on the floor, evidently all destroyed.

”Let’s go and check the adjacent room.” Moria said with a tone of regret.

Rein felt similarly regretful.

Both for the Steel Heart Advanced Meditation Method, and for the ancient wizard’s knowledge before him.

Obviously, if these sheepskin scrolls and books were all intact, once those ’old scholars’ from the school take over, it could be imagined how much utility they could exert.

After all, there was a phrase in the previous life ’scientific technology is the primary productive force,’ which could be applied in this world as ’witchcraft experimentation is the primary productive force.’

Thus, the two continued to walk along the corridor, where this time, a door appeared on the left side.

The door brought a look of joy to both Rein and Moria.

Because this spot was relatively farther compared to before, and moreover, the door was still closed, suggesting the possibility that the contents inside might be relatively preserved; the door plate was labeled ’Warehouse’ in Akadian.

If the Advanced Meditation Method was most likely to appear in the library, then here, it would be the second most possible place.

Seeing this, Moria first inspected the door, then took out a brass-colored, antique key from his pack, inserting it into the lock, accompanied by the sound of light mechanical clicks, as though the key was undergoing some kind of rapid transformation to fit the current lock.

”Click!”

The door opened.

Moria slowly pushed open the door, but in the next second, he stopped in his tracks!

Rein looked through the door, and even though it was dim, almost pitch-black, he could still see the scene behind the door clearly, thanks to his dark vision.

In front of him was a spacious hall, towering several tens of meters high, with two connected levels, and they were currently on the upper level, needing to descend a stone staircase to enter the lower level.

But none of this was what shocked Rein the most.

Instead, it was the super giant magic statue over thirty meters high located at the central and front area of the hall.

Unlike the rock bodies of the two angry hammer war magic statues they had just seen, this statue before them appeared to be made entirely of a certain dark metal, its surface exuding a faint metallic sheen, four gigantic pipes resembling train whistles protruding from its back.

At first glance, Rein thought he had encountered a Transformer!

After entering the hall, Moria’s gaze never left the super giant magic statue.

”This...this...is astonishing, it should be...” As the sect leader, Moria was so excited that he was almost incoherent.

Yet before he could finish speaking, suddenly, a mechanical voice sounded!

”Intruder alert! (In Akadian)”

Immediately following, the head of the super giant magic statue over thirty meters tall in front of the two suddenly lit up with two head-sized red lights.
