Chapter 1332: Chapter 449: Mother Tree Ganishill_3

The central area of Ferdinand Forest.

A massive city, covered in over eighty percent green vegetation, is under some kind of evil invasion.

Some kind of defensive plant, akin to a giant version of climbing green vines, grows around the perimeter of the enormous city. However, at this moment, a large section of the vine wall on the south side of the city, several meters high, has already been destroyed.

Many of the giant vines at the breaches are still being eroded by some kind of blood-flesh energy and flame energy, emitting waves of a scorched, peculiar odor.

If you look through the breach, you can see.

Most of the houses in the city are made of wood, scattered on lawns, giant tree branches, and so on, but the original sense of arrangement has now turned into ruins due to various destructions, burning, and corrosion.

The sounds of battle, the clash of weapons, screams, and the explosions of witchcraft continue to erupt in the distance.

Following the shattered streets towards the city center, you will see, near the central area, a beautifully carved white marble building.

The building, similar to a temple, is grand and stretches for several kilometers; it is the palace of the Royal Family of the Forest Elves of Ferdinand.

In the very central area of the palace, there is a giant tree resembling a banyan tree, but with a height of several hundred meters, and a crown like a hemispherical canopy.

This giant tree is what is known as ’Andaril,’ the Crown of Ferdinand Forest.

At this moment, above the giant tree Andaril, there is a brilliant green barrier vortex shield, covering the palace and the main buildings of Ferdinand City.

From a bird’s eye view, you can see five prismatic crystals, each over a meter high, floating on the bases at five positions around the palace.

It is these five crystals that shoot out beams of light half a meter in diameter towards the sky, converging to form this green hemispherical barrier.

If Alderan, the mayor of Basaran Town, were here, he would immediately tell Rein why there has been no news from Ferdinand City.

Because at this moment, Ferdinand City has already activated its final defense measure—the ’Crystal Barrier.’

Once activated, relying on the five olive crystals that have accumulated energy for a millennium, it can withstand demigod-level attacks for a certain period, but there is a minor issue, namely the inability to transmit messages.

Not only can messenger pigeons, Blood Falcons, and Horned Owl Beasts not enter or exit, but even high-rank witchcraft cannot communicate through, due to being obstructed by unusually strong energy fluctuations. This ensures absolute safety for a certain period, while also preventing messages from coming in or out.

To put it simply, the palace and the nearby core areas have now become an isolated island.

Not far from the green barrier.

A group of people is discussing something, with four leading figures, three of whom are elderly men in black robes adorned with tree patterns.

The other is tall, wearing dark leather armor, with a handsome appearance and pointed ears indicating his Elf Clan identity, and in front of him, there floats a golden tree the size of a fist, wrapped in a transparent spherical membrane.

An extremely miniature tree!

If Rein were on the scene, he would immediately recall the golden treelet after defeating the Blood Flesh Tree Spirit in Nightingale Forest; the aura is exactly the same.

”Prince Sedlin, if we destroy three out of these five crystals, this witch array passed down from Ancient Times will naturally be rendered useless, isn’t it?” asked an elderly man in a black robe on Sedlin’s right side.

”Yes, the crystal barrier can only be destroyed from the inside. When the number of crystals is less than three, the barrier will automatically fail.”

When Prince Sedlin uttered this intelligence, supposed to be a closely guarded secret of the Elf Clan, his expression was strange and his voice hollow, as if immersed in some private world.

If observed closely, one would notice his eyes constantly watching the floating golden tree in front of him, as if admiring a rare treasure, or perhaps an incomparable beauty.

Whether it was due to staring for too long, Prince Sedlin’s eyes bizarrely emitted a faint dark red glow, with the whites of his eyes filled with worm-like blood vessels.

”And this secret passage you mentioned, aside from you, does anyone else know about it?” Upon hearing the method to crack the crystal barrier, another black-robed elder on Sedlin’s left looked overjoyed and continued asking.

Clearly, he wanted to know if they would encounter an ambush by infiltrating through the passage.

”No, not even the Great Druids and Great Commanders know; it’s a secret of the Elven Royal Family.” Prince Sedlin said, while still fixating on the golden miniature tree emitting light, speaking hollowly.

”Excellent! Once the crystal barrier is broken, the Great Mother Tree Ganishill can directly descend into our world from the void.”

The black-robed elder cast a slightly disdainful glance at Prince Sedlin, who remained entranced by the golden miniature tree.

This Prince Sedlin, since establishing a secret spiritual connection with the Great Mother Tree Ganishill in the void a few months ago, has been subtly yet ceaselessly transforming.

A fortnight ago, he finally became a devoted follower of the Great Mother Tree.

”Your Highness, the Prince, the moment you’ve longed for and anticipated, where the Crown of Ferdinand Forest—Andaril—will be reborn from its nearing demise, is about to be realized!”

The black-robed elder spoke these words as a sly glint flashed through his downcast eyes.

And his mouth curved upward into a smile.

Convincing an Epic-level stronghold to shift their faith and embrace the Great Mother Tree wasn’t easy.

If it weren’t for meticulous planning, and if it weren’t for this Prince Sedlin’s obsession with rejuvenating the ’Andaril’ on the brink of life’s end.

The sheer power of the Great Mother Tree alone could hardly exert much influence over a steadfast Epic-level stronghold from the distant void.
