Chapter 359 – 191: Undercurrents Surge (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_2

Rein burst into incredulous laughter on the spot when he saw such a shameless challenge letter.

“God damn the insult to the Norman family!”

“It’s your Norman family’s repeated assassination attempts on me that have led to the current situation!”

However, Rein soon realized that this was a strategy on the opponent’s part.

“Start with a verbal attack, garnering people’s sympathy, with the main idea being that I, a newly-minted baron, have insulted the Norman family. Otherwise, why would I challenge you to a duel?”

As for evidence?

Of course, there’s none. That’s how the nobility operates…

However, seeing the worried expression on the beautiful woman’s face beside him, Rein gently smiled, stepped forward, wrapped his arms around her tender and graceful body, and comforted her:

“Jennifer, don’t worry. Perhaps the situation isn’t as bad as you imagine.”

After thinking for a while, to comfort the beautiful woman, Rein took out the Silver Conch Medal that Bishop Shion had just awarded him and handed it to her.

The woman’s beautiful eyes first looked at Rein with confusion, but when she took the medal and saw it, she quickly understood and exclaimed, “Is this the Silver Conch Medal of the Monsoon and Ocean Goddess Church?”

“Exactly!”

“This is very difficult to be awarded. Many people dedicate their entire lives to the Goddess Church and don’t even get the Iron Shell Medal. My dear, how did you get this medal…?” the beautiful woman turned her head and curiously asked.

Rein didn’t answer directly but asked with a smile, “Do you know about the Wilderness Brotherhood?”

The woman nodded affirmatively, “Of course, they are infamous throughout Meister County. Some time ago, shops under the Crowley family were also disturbed by gang members instigated by them. I remember it took a lot of effort for me to put things right.”

“Hmm, do you know who their leader is?” Rein continued to ask.

“It seems to be someone nicknamed ’Beast Knight Giovanni,’ with incredible strength. It’s said that apart from the Great Knights whom he is slightly wary of, he doesn’t even take Peak Knights seriously,” the woman answered promptly despite not understanding why Rein suddenly mentioned the Wilderness Brotherhood and Giovanni.

“Very well, whom do you think is stronger, Giovanni or this Baron Norman at present?” Rein posed another question.

“That… about the same? They both are said to have combat strength very close to that of a Great Knight, but maybe Giovanni is a little stronger,” she contemplated and then replied.

“Hmm, remember you were wondering why the Goddess Church would award me with this Silver Conch Medal?”

“Because I killed Giovanni!” Rein smiled, looking at the beautiful woman as he revealed the answer.

Instantly, the woman’s eyes widened in shock, her cherry lips parted wide enough to fit an egg.

“This… this…” the woman struggled to articulate her thoughts.

Obviously, saying “This is impossible!” would be inappropriate, and saying “How could this be possible?” would be doubting Rein, so naturally, she didn’t voice these thoughts.

What the woman didn’t realize was that her man had grown so powerful.

No! What was most terrifying was the rate of his strength increase!

To think that Rein had only just become a formal knight a few months ago!

My God! This was completely unbelievable!

Soon, the woman understood why Rein had gone around in such a big circle.

Because her worries vanished in an instant, the woman’s previously anxious face quickly faded away, her fair skin beginning to glow radiantly, and her seductive, silky eyes looked at Rein with deep affection mixed with admiration.

Being gazed at so intently by the beautiful woman, Rein also felt a surge of masculine pride swell in his heart.

Although dinner time was approaching, the two, impassioned as dry tinder to flame, quickly got into action.

Rein gently picked up the woman and placed her in front of the study window for her to gaze out, while he lifted her skirt, revealing her fair, rounded…

Concerned about servants coming to call them for dinner and any other potential disturbances at any moment, this only increased the level of excitement quite a bit.

The woman, suppressing her breaths, quickly succumbed…

Moving into a sage-like state of mind, Rein began to contemplate serious matters.

Because if a man’s mind is only filled with thoughts of women, revolving everything around them, sorry, but that will only slow down the speed at which a man draws his sword.

Rein had long since realized this, so these things were merely diversions from his monotonous training, or rather, a way for him to feel joyously content before throwing himself back into training and battle with an even better disposition.

Reviewing the prerequisites for advancing his [Weapon Master (Legendary)] profession panel, Rein found that aside from the first one—three Extraordinary Battle Techniques at level 10—the thing likely holding him back was a beast essence.

As for Extraordinary Battle Techniques at level 10, it was mainly about obtaining enough Skill Points through raising the Profession Level. However, for the beast essence, it seemed he knew only one way to get it.

That was through the County Town’s military supplies office.

Yet, Rein had just thought of a problem. His dueling opponent, Baron Norman, was a retired Imperial Navy officer. If Rein were to go to the military supplies office himself, it would likely be that news would reach Norman’s ears fast and create obstacles for him, or for obtaining the beast essence.

After some thought, Rein looked down and asked:

“By the way, Jennifer, do you know about beast essence potions?”

“The beast essence needed for a knight to become a Great Knight?” the woman, nestled in Rein’s arms, spoke in a languid, post-rain tone.
