Genetic Engineer in a Tamer's World

The golden fluid inside the fifth glass vial glowed with a pure, radiant light that illuminated every corner of the laboratory. Kale Ardentis sat silently at his central stone workbench, his green eyes focused on the delicate light essence resting in the heat-resistant glass. Four of the five elemental streams extracted from the Ancient-rank core were now firmly anchored in Neo’s marrow.

Earth, fire, water, and wind existed in perfect structural equilibrium within the hydra, held steady by his auxiliary catalysts. Only the light attribute remained to complete the five-element foundation of the Elemental Resonance Project. Beneath his grey headband, Kale activated his energy vision and observed the glowing channels within the fluid like liquid sunshine.

The light element was notoriously volatile, prone to scattering if touched by unrefined mana. Neo hopped onto the parchment, its three heads leaning toward the golden container with curious eyes. The hydra let out a quiet, harmonious trill through their shared bond as it felt the soothing warmth.

’Patience, Neo.’ Kale murmured, stroking the central head’s dark scales to calm the beast’s excitement. ’The light element must be filtered with absolute precision before reaching your marrow.’

The heavy steel door of the laboratory unbolted with a sharp mechanical click as Lazek Oberon walked inside. The Fleshcraft Grandmaster set a tray of sterile surgical instruments onto the table, taking a slow puff from his smoking pipe. He blew a thin ring of grey smoke toward the ceiling. ℯⅇ𝙡.

’The Divine Fist Sect has officially laid claim to House Morrow’s abandoned territory in the eastern district, disciple.’ Lazek reported, his dark eyes glinting as he observed the setup. ’Prince Renard has deployed twenty gold-armoured guards to secure the perimeter and prevent open fighting.’

Kale did not look up from his research parchments, his hands remaining steady above the glass container. He dipped his feather pen into dark ink, marking the precise energetic nodes on the paper.

’Let the noble factions fight over the eastern district, Master. Their squabbles do not concern us as long as our research remains uninterrupted.’ Kale noted flatly, setting his pen aside.

Lazek nodded in approval, pulling a wooden chair closer to watch the extraction process. The Fleshcraft Grandmaster kept his breathing measured, curious to observe the final elemental refinement.

’The light element requires absolute energetic purity during the filtration phase.’ Lazek noted, his voice dropping into a low register. ’If the stream is corrupted by stray mana, the essence will degrade into ambient light.’

’My Hexarion physiology will serve as the pure bridge, Master.’ Kale explained, unrolling his research parchment beside the needle. ’I will filter the golden fluid through my own pathways before passing it into Neo through our bond.’

Kale picked up the silver surgical needle, his hands completely steady and motionless. His unified Trinity Crafting skill allowed him to calibrate his mana output to the exact frequency required. He unsealed the brass cap of the fifth vial with a precise twist of his thumb.

The golden fluid hummed with a melodic frequency as he inserted the needle into the container. Kale channelled a stream of refined mana, drawing the radiant fluid up through the silver tube. The laboratory temperature remained stable as the golden essence entered his pathways.

His Hexarion physiology acted as an impenetrable filter, stripping away any volatile friction from the light mana. Kale then guided the purified golden stream into the shared soul link connecting him to Neo. The radiant energy poured smoothly into the hydra’s internal pathways, washing over its mind space.

The three-headed hydra let out a deep, satisfied trill as the soothing light spread through its marrow. The dark scales along its necks and wings shimmered with a golden sheen before settling into a deep matte black. The light element integrated with the existing earth, fire, water, and wind streams without conflict.

The five elements formed a closed loop within Neo’s marrow, each attribute reinforcing and balancing the others. Water neutralised the fire stream’s thermal friction, earth grounded it, wind propelled it, and light stabilised it. All five elemental attributes achieved absolute structural resonance within the hydra’s core.

Blue text windows flickered rapidly across Kale’s retina, logging the integration metrics in real time. The dark runes in his vision hummed with a quiet radiance as the status window updated.

[The Nemesis Hydra has absorbed refined Ancient rank Light Essence through the Hexarion filter.]

[Light Affinity increased by 7%. Current Light Affinity: 92%.]

[Mental Bastion stability increased by 50%.]

[All five primary elemental streams have achieved complete structural resonance!]

[The Nemesis Hydra has unlocked the skill: Radiant Matrix.]

Kale read the status notifications with a sharp gaze as the golden radiance slowly faded into the quiet air. The buffer method using his Hexarion physiology had successfully anchored the final stream without a rejection cascade. Lazek Oberon stood up from his chair, taking a slow puff from his pipe as he inspected the energy signature.

The Fleshcraft Grandmaster’s dark eyes shone with pride and scientific wonder as he observed the loop. He tapped his pipe against the wooden armrest and blew another ring of grey smoke.

’Five opposing elemental streams harmonised within a single beast without triggering a rejection cascade.’ Lazek remarked, his voice carrying genuine appreciation. ’You have accomplished what the oldest records of our Association declared impossible, disciple.’

’The five refined streams provide the complete foundation, Master.’ Kale stated, unrolling a fresh sheet of parchment onto the table. ’Neo now possesses the elemental stability required for the Ravager rank breakthrough.’

’And what of the second beast slot, Kale?’ Lazek asked, leaning over the workbench with intense curiosity. ’To push Neo into the Ravager rank safely, you must tame your second beast to act as the permanent elemental filter.’

’I have already designed the blueprint for the second beast, Master.’ Kale revealed, dipping his pen into dark ink. ’I will construct the Ignis Core Mark II, a specialised fire catalyst chimaera.’

’By bonding with this catalyst directly, my Hexarion physiology will serve as an energetic bridge.’ Kale explained, mapping out the cellular equations on the paper. ’I will select a Crystal Slime base integrated with salamander tissue to ensure high mana permeability.’

’This will allow Neo to draw pure fire affinity through the bond whenever combat demands higher output.’ Kale added, finalising the schematics.

Lazek let out a short laugh, shaking his head in quiet admiration at his disciple’s pragmatism. He walked toward his private quarters, his dark cloak rustling against the stone floor.

’A living network of elemental filters... your logic remains as cold and pragmatic as ever, disciple.’

Before Lazek could speak further, a heavy knock echoed off the iron-reinforced entrance. The protective runic arrays along the steel frame flared softly, signalling an imperial messenger’s presence. Lazek unbolted the iron locks with a heavy turn of the key and pulled the steel door open, revealing Rando in the corridor.

The prince’s shadow stepped inside, his yellow eyes sharp and serious under his dark hood. He held his dark cloak tightly and adjusted his spatial pouch.

’My apologies for the intrusion, Grandmaster Oberon, Master Kale.’ Rando said in a low tone as he stepped inside. ’I carry an urgent message from Prince Renard.’

’What has happened, Rando?’ Kale asked, placing his hand over his research notes on the workbench.

’High Inquisitor Luke has concluded his emergency consultations at the High Cathedral.’ Rando revealed, taking a crimson scroll from his coat. ’He is returning to the capital tomorrow with sixty elite church paladins.’

’Luke was unable to break your legal registry, but he has secured a special papal decree.’ Rando added, handing the scroll to Kale. ’He intends to demand an inspection of the lower stasis vaults where the breach occurred.’

Lazek let out a short, cold laugh and blew a ring of smoke toward the high ceiling. ’Luke is searching for any excuse to regain his lost authority in the capital. He suspects the ancient beast cores harvested during the breach were used for heretical experiments.’

’Let him inspect the ruined vaults.’ Kale said flatly, his green eyes remaining calm as he accepted the scroll. ’The breach points are sealed, and the evidence against House Morrow has already been delivered.’

’The situation is more complicated, Master Kale.’ Rando noted, his tone serious as he looked at both Fleshcrafters. ’Prince Renard expects the Divine Fist Sect to attempt a move against the Association during Luke’s inspection.’

’His Highness requests that you remain inside the Fleshcraft Tower until the church contingent departs. Prince Renard’s private guards will maintain an extra perimeter tonight.’ Rando added, bowing his head.

Kale accepted the scroll, his mind calculating the biological and political variables involved. He adjusted his headband over his hidden gold mesh seal, his posture remaining completely composed.

’Tell the Prince that my laboratory will remain focused on the next breakthrough.’ Kale replied, his tone steady and sharp. ’I will complete the Ignis Core Mark II and prepare Neo for its Ravager rank ascension.’

Rando bowed deeply toward both Fleshcrafters before departing through the secret lift. The heavy steel door locked once more, returning the private laboratory to standby.

Kale picked up his feather pen, his hand steady as he resumed drawing the genetic equations for his second beast. Neo hopped onto his shoulder, its dark scales settling into a matte black state as its three heads watched the paper. The five refined elemental streams circulated continuously through the hydra’s marrow, building an unshakeable foundation.

Kale dipped his pen into the dark ink, the scratch of paper echoing softly in the research room. Outside the tower, the night wind blew cool against Emberheart’s high stone arches. Inside the quiet research room, the tip of the feather pen moved across the parchment with absolute precision.
