The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1798: Chapter 1798: You Said It Yourself, I’m Still Young!

Nathalie Quinlan was still wondering if he was talking about Zevaney Kingsley. She looked up and heard him say he’d be back the day after tomorrow, her mind stalled for a moment. However, Nathalie quickly returned to normal and said without thinking, ”What time in the afternoon? I’ll pick you up at the airport.”

”Hmm.” Amadeus Yancey chuckled lightly, his mood suddenly lifted immensely, and he looked at her, his gaze deep and affectionate. ”Do you miss me?”

Nathalie: ”...”

Amadeus was in no hurry and let her take her time to think.

Nathalie was quite annoyed, sat up again, picked up her phone, walked over to fetch her cup, and after a moment’s silence, replied, ”It’s alright.”

”Just alright?”

Nathalie sat back down again, looked at him with a hint of competitiveness in her eyes that was both lazy and cool, and unbeknownst to her, enticing. ”Hmm, it’s just so-so.”

Amadeus’s Adam’s apple bobbed, his eyes deepening, and he almost wanted to tell Alfred Garland to arrange a flight back immediately.

However, he still had some loose ends to tie up, even if at the fastest speed, it would take a day.

He had long passed the age of being impulsive, but seeing the girl on the other end of the video call, his heart still thudded with warmth, almost uncontrollably pounding like a drum against his chest, unable to suppress his emotions. ”Nathalie.”

”Hmm?”

Nathalie looked at him, responded with a sound, and then heard the man’s low, murmuring voice, ”...I miss you. What should I do?”

What should she do?

Nathalie had never dealt with such a situation before. Her eardrums were burning hot, and she felt a wave of heat across her body, not even knowing why she felt so tense. Looking again at the man on the other end of the video call, with his clear and refined features, like vast, ethereal smoke waves, yet as tall and steadfast as mountain pines, she suddenly didn’t know how to respond.

Her throat felt a bit dry.

She took a sip of water to cover it up, but she felt as though she wasn’t really thirsty. After finishing more than half a cup, that hot sensation didn’t alleviate at all.

She simply coughed, donning a serious expression, ”You said it yourself, I’m still young!”

She had brought up this issue with him when she was in Inderia.

She remembered very clearly, someone had said repeatedly that she was still young and needed to wait a bit longer, or something like that.

And now he’s telling her this?

Isn’t it inappropriate!

It’s not like she didn’t give him a chance before.

If he insisted on playing the gentleman, there was nothing she could do.

”You have to be responsible for what you say.”

”...” Originally, Amadeus just said it casually, not expecting Nathalie to bring up the topic of being ”still young.” He had originally thought it through, ready to wait another year, but now he regretted it a bit.

He recalled that damn ”good friend” from before; it was that very phrase, ”good friend,” that led him down a lot of detours.

After Nathalie’s words blocked him, she felt much better, her mood lightening up as she saw the notification of a text pop up on her phone from the corner of her eye. She didn’t continue talking to him: ”What time is your flight the day after tomorrow afternoon? I’ll head over a bit early.”

”Three in the afternoon.”

Flying from Inderia to Beijing takes a bit of time, and he’s already chosen the fastest flight back.

”Got it.” Nathalie didn’t say more, told him that, and reached out to hang up the video call.

After ending the call, she picked up her phone, nonchalantly opened the text message she had glimpsed earlier.

The text was from an unknown Beijing number.

”Ms. Quinlan, I’m Riandy Heburn. I was presumptuous during our last meeting. I wonder if you have time; I’d like to arrange a meeting with you tomorrow. You can set the time and place. Would that be convenient for you?”

Nathalie glanced at it with a rather indifferent expression, didn’t reply, directly deleted the text, and then blocked the number that had messaged her.

The whole process was swift and smooth!

Without a bit of hesitation.
