Extraordinary in Reality Through Magic Games

91: Chapter 91 Heretics Are DeadZhang Mu chose the tallest building.

He climbed the stairs to the open-air terrace on the top floor, tossed the corpse onto the stone floor, and sat down on the ground, waiting calmly for the Believers to arrive.

Taking advantage of the gap, he took Dante’s leather pouch from his inventory, untied the hemp rope at the opening, and rummaged through it.

Inside were some gold coins, a few magic longswords, and some magic items of unknown effect.

Ignoring these, he continued to dig deeper.

Hmm?

His fingertips suddenly felt the texture of leather, so he grabbed it and pulled it out with force.

”A treasure map?”

He unfolded the leather, which looked a bit like sheepskin, and saw twisting, winding black lines drawn on it representing a route.

Above and below were similar black lines, with a few sparse strokes outlining mountains and rivers.

From left to right, the end of the black line was a forest of lines, with a circle drawn above it containing a strangely shaped symbol.

He glanced at it casually; next to the forest was written—Silent Forest.

Zhang Mu had heard Avril mention this forest a couple of times; it was inhabited by a vast number of powerful magical beasts and monsters, making it extremely dangerous.

”The treasure hidden in here shouldn’t be anything cheap.”

Zhang Mu was lost in thought and was just about to examine it carefully when his peripheral vision caught sight of the street in front of the gate, where a dozen or so Believers wearing silver-white light armor were sprinting over.

The one leading them was the bishop of Bala City, whom he had met not long ago; in the group, only he wore a wide, pure white robe.

The audience had arrived, and the play could begin.

Putting away the treasure map, Zhang Mu pulled out a grenade, held it in his hand, and lifted Dante’s corpse, ”Time to fight.”

The newly appointed bishop of Bala City led the Fanatics, his feet moving so fast they left afterimages.

The street lamps on both sides of the stone road emitted a hazy, dim yellow light, reflecting his unpleasant expression.

He never would have imagined that just days after taking over as the bishop of Bala City, he would encounter violence within the city, something that hadn’t happened in thousands of years.

Damn it!

Gritting his teeth, he cursed inwardly, ”I will burn that damn heretic alive.”

”Bang—”

A violent explosion suddenly erupted from the building complex of the Marvin Magic Family not far away.

Instinctively stopping in his tracks, he and the Fanatics behind him looked up in the distance together.

Behind the tall walls, on the terrace of the highest building among the uneven cluster of houses, a flash of fire appeared and vanished.

Narrowing his eyes slightly, the new bishop of Bala City saw two figures on the terrace swinging longswords at each other.

The battle was intense; he could even see large amounts of blood being drawn from their bodies by the blades from time to time.

After watching for a few seconds, he came to his senses and lifted his foot, preparing to rush over to stop them.

But before his foot landed, he saw the figure who was at a disadvantage pull out several spherical magic items, rush in front of the other person, and hold them tightly.

Letting the other person punch and stab, he simply wouldn’t let go.

The next second, a flash of fire appeared on the terrace, briefly illuminating the nearby darkness, and a violent explosion echoed in the night sky.

The new bishop watched helplessly as the two were blown to pieces.

Was it over?

Having rushed over in such a hurry, only to find that the heretic who had violated the church rules had perished with his enemy before he could even make a move, he felt a bit bewildered.

Collecting himself, he led the Fanatics into the half-open iron gate and made his way downstairs.

Servants in ordinary attire were running around in a panic, while the clan members, holding staves or resting their hands on the hilts of the longswords at their waists, were divided into two groups, standing face to face.

”Mr. Bishop.”

Seeing him, everyone bowed and greeted him.

The new bishop pulled one of them aside to clarify what had happened.

It turned out that both sides had developed a grudge in the maze, and the enemy had first wiped out the entire Burg Magic Family, then chased them directly to their residence, and perished together with the patriarch Dante on the rooftop terrace using magic items.

After listening.

Looking at the two groups of clan members who were already preparing to vie for the position of patriarch, he was already seven or eight parts convinced.

If the patriarch were still alive, they would never dare to display such a stance of imminent mortal combat.

Acting on the principle of seeing a person in life or a corpse in death, the new bishop ran to the rooftop to carefully inspect the thin layer of blood and flesh smeared on the stone floor and the severed limbs scattered around.

It was the amount for two people.

Cautiously scanning the surroundings with his Mental Energy and confirming that the heretic was dead, he turned and went downstairs, instructed the two groups of people in the heavy atmosphere, ”Violence within the city is prohibited,” and led the Fanatics back to the church.

However, he didn’t notice that shortly after he left, half of the flesh and blood on the rooftop terrace floor vanished into thin air.

The clan members, impatient to fight for the position of patriarch, naturally wouldn’t care about such a small matter.

By the time they remembered to collect their patriarch’s corpse, the hungry birds would likely have already finished this troublesome task for them.

...

Inn.

As time gradually passed and there was still no sign of Zhang Mu, Frederica felt restless.

Unable to help herself, she ran out of the room, sat on the sofa in the lobby on the first floor, clutching a white button in her palm, her eyes fixed tightly on the entrance.

”You have never broken a promise to me; you will be fine, right...”

There was no smile on Frederica’s face, but she didn’t look anxious either; she seemed quite normal.

Only her constantly shifting pupils indicated that her heart was not as calm as she appeared on the surface.

A while later, Saldari and Alice also walked down the stairs.

Seeing Frederica sitting straight on the sofa, they were a bit surprised, but immediately felt it was only natural.

They quickened their pace and sat on either side of her.

”Your Highness,” Saldari comforted, ”Mr. Zhang Mu does not have a reckless personality, please rest assured.”

”Yes, Your Highness,” Alice also agreed, ”After Mr. Zhang Mu settles things here, we can travel together in the future across the Sol...”

”Bang—”

The faint, muffled explosion that reached the lobby made the three of them freeze.

”Is someone using magic and Knight Techniques within the city?”

Although not using magic or Knight Techniques to attack others didn’t count as violence within the city, generally, no one had the spare time to cast magic for fun in the city.

If an enemy seized the opportunity and ran straight into the magic, the Church wouldn’t bother investigating whether someone had framed you.

”No, that’s not right.” Compared to the curiosity and shock of the two elves, upon hearing the somewhat familiar sound of the explosion, Frederica stood up in a panic, ”It’s Zhang Mu, it’s Zhang Mu’s tool!”

Shouting, she rushed out the door and ran frantically toward the source of the sound; Saldari and Alice, confused, exchanged a glance and hurried to follow.

”What is the tool?” After running behind Frederica for over ten minutes, Alice asked Saldari curiously.

”I don’t know.” He shook his head, his mood slowly sinking to the bottom, ”Regardless of what the tool is, the sound was inside the city...”

”Bang— Bang—”

”Zhang Mu!”

The sorrowful cry of Frederica, who was in the lead, along with several consecutive explosions, shocked the two elves.

Their heads instinctively turned forward, their gazes shooting toward the tall building in the distance where the commotion was coming from.

On the rooftop terrace under the night sky, a familiar figure and another unfamiliar physique were blown to pieces by the firelight together.

Their footsteps slowly came to a halt.

That distant light, which flashed for a moment, seemed to explode deep within their hearts.

Alice’s palm loosened involuntarily, and the wooden staff she was holding slipped and fell to the ground: ”You’ve got to be kidding, right?”
