Extraordinary in Reality Through Magic Games

58: Chapter 58 Whose lucky day is it today?Leaving Kings Cross Station, Zhang Mu found a hotel to stay in.

There wasn’t much worth exploring, so he stayed in his room until the next morning, when he dragged his suitcase out of the hotel.

His flight to Eagle Country was at one in the afternoon, so he still had time. He casually entered a roadside restaurant for breakfast.

After ordering, he found a window seat, rested his chin in his hand, and looked out the window, feeling a bit bored.

In his heart, he was thinking about what weapons to buy after arriving in Mexico City.

Before he could figure it out, the conversation of two men gnawing on chicken wings at a nearby table caught his attention.

He scanned over with his Mental Energy.

”Did you see the video yesterday?”

”It’s going crazy on Facebook, of course I saw it.”

”What do you think of its credibility?”

”God, you actually think it might be real?”

”But Jeno, I collected those videos from different angles and carefully compared and studied them all night. I didn’t find any traces of human editing. Or rather, just analyzing the fact that there are multiple angles in the video rules out the possibility of software fakery, right?”

”Please, my dear Mr. Toby... This is obviously a mass hoax.”

”I guess this group of crazy harry potter fans must have used equipment like holographic projection.”

”What’s the purpose? What are they doing this for?”

”Just a simple prank. Watching others argue about the authenticity of the video content on Facebook, they must be smiling smugly behind their phone screens.”

”But I still think...”

”Alright Toby, admit it. There is no magic in this world, and there is no Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It’s just a movie adapted from a novel.”

”Do you remember the two Chinese people who came to exchange here a few years ago?”

”I spoke to them on the phone half a month ago. That Mr. Zhao and Ms. Yue told me that the department they worked for is about to be disbanded.”

”Oh my god, I think we’re about to lose our jobs too. Instead of worrying about bullshit magic, we should think about how to find enough work to make a living after the Special Investigation Bureau is dissolved.”

”Uh, if there really were magic, we wouldn’t have to lose our jobs.”

”Fine. If there really were wizards and a Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, I hope they hurry up and fly an old car over London a few times, so all the citizens of London can see it clearly. That way, we could keep our jobs.”

The tone he used when saying this was filled with mockery.

Toby was a bit embarrassed; clearly speechless from the rebuttal, he took the initiative to steer the conversation in another direction.

Retracting his Mental Energy, Zhang Mu thanked the waiter who brought the food and picked up a chicken wing to gnaw on.

So, Ying Country also has an organization similar to the Special Investigation Bureau. What about other countries?

He figured that even if they hadn’t formally established relevant organizations, at least they must have organized personnel to investigate.

Judging from the fact that they could contact each other privately, they probably hadn’t discovered any abnormal events and belonged to idle departments.

Otherwise, such a highly significant secret department would never allow members to contact each other privately.

Thinking about this, Zhang Mu finished gnawing a few chicken wings, stood up, and hailed a car to the airport.

He checked in, entered the departure hall, lined up to board the plane on time, and eight hours later, Zhang Mu walked out of Jiu Jin Mountain International Airport.

This time he didn’t go to the city center; he hailed a car directly to the small town closest to the Mexico City border.

He paid the fare and got out.

It was late at night, and the streets of the sparsely populated small town were empty, with not a soul in sight. He could only see bright light shining from the windows of the European-style villas by the roadside.

He slipped into a small grove and shoved his suitcase into his inventory.

Then he took out his small scooter, activated the Shadow Technique, and following the world map he had prepared before departure, headed at full speed toward the Mexico City border city—Tijuana.

Because he didn’t have to worry about being detected by various physical surveillance methods, Zhang Mu sped along the main road without any hesitation.

The total distance was over twenty kilometers, and he arrived in just over ten minutes.

He deactivated the Shadow Technique in the dense forest outside the city, put away the small scooter, used the Transformation Technique to turn into an ordinary-looking white man, and swaggered into the city along the asphalt road.

The infrastructure in this city was quite poor, a bit like a well-developed small county town back home.

The scenery wasn’t much to look at. The only thing that could be considered a local feature was probably the black men standing at every alley entrance carrying AK-47s.

Zhang Mu wandered around briefly and began to search for his target.

Arms dealers weren’t hard to find, but those with the capability to sell fully automatic rifles and heavy weaponry couldn’t be found just by asking around.

Fortunately, this didn’t stump Zhang Mu. He simply spent money to buy information from small vendors; buying the address of an arms dealer was very easy.

Searching level by level, by daybreak, he finally found a small leader under the biggest local arms dealer.

Perhaps because the boss wanted to maintain his status, unless it was a regular customer, only the underlings would receive guests.

Fine, Zhang Mu didn’t really care; as long as he could buy the gear he wanted, that was enough.

Following a few black men with AR-15s slung across their chests, he twisted and turned through a maze of narrow alleys for half an hour before entering a low brick house.

The room was quite large, with a square table in the middle, and a black man who looked like a ”leader” sat behind the table.

He wore a gold necklace as thick as a little finger around his neck, sat with his legs crossed, and rested his hands on the table, spread wide.

”Qu é armas necesitas?” A string of gibberish came out of the black man’s mouth.

Zhang Mu, in his white man disguise, was dumbfounded. He hadn’t checked the information carefully before coming; didn’t people here speak Ying Country language?

Seeing him silent for a long time, the black man seemed to realize something, waved his hand, and had the underling call over a big black man in a white shirt.

The black man repeated what he had just said, the big black man nodded, and asked Zhang Mu in Ying Country language: ”What weapons do you want?”

So he had called for a translator.

Zhang Mu realized, and replied: ”I need the most powerful weapons you have here.”

After hearing him, the big black man suddenly stared at him, his eyes thoughtful.

After a while, he communicated with the black man, the black man waved his hand again, and several underlings turned and left the room, returning with three large wooden crates.

He stepped forward and opened the lids one by one, and Zhang Mu’s eyes lit up.

It was no wonder he was the biggest local arms dealer; the crates not only contained various models of fully automatic rifles, but also plenty of grenades.

The most eye-catching thing was the last wooden crate, which contained a gatling machine gun.

Although he wanted to ask if there were any bigger things, like tanks or armored vehicles, he figured they probably didn’t have those.

He would only be able to get those after making connections with Government Officials.

”You can pick what you want and then go back to get the money.” The big black man on the side reminded him.

Zhang Mu reached into his back pocket, pretending to take something out, but actually summoned his inventory.

In the third grid, there were 100 gold coins, which were in the storage bag Potter gave him, probably as living expenses for him.

He took out one, and Zhang Mu spread his hand out in front of him: ”I’ll take this machine gun, prepare plenty of extra bullets, two of each rifle, and similarly, prepare plenty of bullets. I want that whole crate of grenades. I will pay for the goods entirely with gold coins like the one in my hand. Don’t worry, they are pure gold; you can test them however you like.”

There had to be plenty of bullets. There was a threshold for using firearms, and Zhang Mu planned to go to the Other World to practice well, which would waste quite a few bullets.

The black man and the big black man looked at each other and suddenly laughed at the same time: ”Hahaha...”

”Definitely not from Eagle Country, with that lousy accent, hahaha...” The big black man laughed until he could barely breathe, and after a long while, he stopped. ”Little guy, I don’t know if you are too naive or stupid to have the guts to carry gold coins alone and find a strange arms dealer to buy weapons.”

Zhang Mu, on the other hand, had a strange expression. Were they preparing to kill him and steal his money?

”Hoy es nuestro día de suerte.” The black man stood up, shouting with his hands spread wide.

Pointing at him, Zhang Mu curiously asked the big black man: ”What is he saying?”

”He says, today is his lucky day.”

”Is that so...” Zhang Mu smiled, ”Today is my lucky day too.”

The big black man didn’t react for a moment and subconsciously asked: ”What do you mean?”

”Mr. Translator, I have the guts to carry gold coins and contact a strange arms dealer alone, that’s naturally because...”

”I’m not afraid.”
