Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 1517: Chapter 1517: Give You an Inch and You Take a Mile

”Hmph, don’t think that having some power makes you invincible. There are people beyond people and heavens beyond heavens, understand? Our Holy Court has produced countless prodigies throughout history, Divine Doctors and hands are countless, even we couldn’t heal Master Jian’s injury, yet you dare to boast, not afraid of being laughed at if this spreads.” Elder Jin snorted with disdain and began to withdraw the needles.

Han Yan didn’t bother to argue with such a person and ignored him.

”Thank you.” Jian Wuchen said politely.

”No need to thank me, after all, I couldn’t heal you; I merely helped make your meridians flow a bit more smoothly so you can move like a normal person. If you really want to be cured, you might as well ask this descendant of yours. Didn’t you hear others say? Your injury might not be incurable after all, hehe, what bold words, just right for me to witness.” Han Yan didn’t argue with Elder Jin, who thought it was Han Yan admitting defeat, and mocked even more fiercely.

”Elder Jin, since you’re so eager to witness my healing skills, I’ll let you witness them.” Han Yan wasn’t the type to have such a good temper. Hearing his repeated mockery, she was somewhat angered.

Though she couldn’t be sure that teaming up with Ye Yanran could definitely heal Jian Wuchen’s injury, it would certainly have some benefits, with effects not inferior to Elder Jin’s Golden Needle technique. If he wants to see it, let him see it.

”If you show off just a little, you’ll act like a dye house, huh? Then let me see your healing skills! If you lose face, don’t blame me for being sharp-tongued and abandoning elder etiquette.” Elder Jin grew angrier as Han Yan dared to retort.

Upon hearing his words, Han Yan felt even more amused. This old man truly had no self-awareness; did his mouth ever spare anyone? Facing me, when did he ever show even half a bit of courtesy?

”Enough, enough, why make such a fuss over this old man’s injury? Elder Jin, you are an elder, why bother a junior?” Jian Wuchen stepped forward to mediate as he saw the two were just short of fighting.

”Hmph.” Elder Jin, considering his status, felt it wouldn’t bring him any face to argue with a junior, snorted arrogantly, and turned to leave.

”How can one be so biased and narrow-minded?” Han Yan, on account of Jian Wuchen’s face, couldn’t be bothered to argue further but shook her head and commented.

”It’s not entirely his fault. His grandfather once learned alongside me as disciples. Although he was a generation higher, we were similar in age, so we became close friends, like brothers. During the battle with the temple, both sides suffered heavy casualties and had to retreat. At that time, the Desolate Storm erupted, trapping his grandfather and several other Holy Court masters. I was heavily injured and unconscious, unable to help.

As his father grew up, he became a Holy Court Steward. Once, while out on a mission, he was severely injured by someone from the temple. To outsiders, Holy Court Stewards seem glorious, yet they are countless within the Holy Court and naturally overlooked. Upon returning, he didn’t receive the best treatment, leaving hidden problems. His strength stopped advancing, and he eventually died in depression. Coincidentally, I was wandering in search of healing methods those years, unable to help.

Elder Jin was still young and immature then, blaming me for everything. In his view, I, who was like a brother to his grandfather, shouldn’t have stood by while his father was seriously injured, neither able to plead on their behalf, causing his father to die depressed, certainly labeling me as unfeeling and selfish, holding great resentment towards me.

His nature also became extreme and stubborn, not listening to anyone.” Jian Wuchen said with a bitter smile.

Han Yan only then understood that Elder Jin had such a background, no wonder even though he called Jian Wuchen ’Master Uncle,’ he showed no respect.

”Don’t blame him either; though his temperament is a bit extreme, he has good character and exceptional medical skills, a master of his generation. If not for his occasional healing treatments over the years, my hand would have been utterly destroyed.” Jian Wuchen continued.

”Mm.” Han Yan nodded.

Indeed, when one’s influence wanes, Han Yan can imagine the kind of desolation Jin Qisheng must have felt growing up, with his grandfather dead, father crippled, and only support Jian Wuchen’s right arm destroyed, probably holding little status in the Holy Court. Meanwhile, he traveled frequently, leaving Jin Qisheng relatively friendless, likely facing disdain like her own childhood, making a slightly extreme personality quite normal.

She felt somewhat sympathetic toward Elder Jin.

”Alright, I’m leaving now.” Reflecting on the past, Jian Wuchen appeared slightly uninterested.

”Wait, Uncle Wuchen, I haven’t healed you yet?” Han Yan held onto Jian Wuchen.

Though Jian Wuchen only mentioned her grandmother pestering him to learn skills in her youth, never explaining whether she ultimately succeeded, but from the elder’s affectionate tone when mentioning the grandmother, Han Yan could surmise she learned a lot from him. Even if there was no official master-disciple title, there was certainly a mentorship bond. Thus, she should rightly call him ’Grandmaster.’ Having a chance to heal his injury, Han Yan naturally wouldn’t stand idly by.

”Do you truly intend to heal me?” Jian Wuchen asked with surprise. He thought she’d back down after seeing Elder Jin’s skills, yet she was even more determined.

”If I have not guessed incorrectly, my grandmother could have her cultivation due to the help of predecessors. As a junior, I must try my best.” Han Yan said decisively, without hiding.

”Haha, back then taught that little girl a few cultivation techniques was not taught in vain, alright, then give it a try.” Jian Wuchen laughed loudly.

Han Yan did indeed guess right; he truly had the grace of teaching her grandmother.

Despite his laughter, Han Yan perceived Jian Wuchen merely satisfied her wish, only letting her try without much hope. It’s understandable that the injury that several generations of Divine Doctors and masters in the Holy Court couldn’t heal had Han Yan, allegedly cure it; wouldn’t believe it herself were she someone else.

”Yanran.” Han Yan said casually, waving to Ye Yanran.

”Coming, coming.” Ye Yanran came running with little steps, munching on some unknown glutinous rice cake, cheeks puffed out as she swallowed, almost choked, eyes rolling slightly.

Han Yan also rolled her eyes, realizing that the female thief was actually quite the foodie.

”Come and look at Uncle Wuchen’s injury.” Han Yan said.

”What’s wrong with this injury?” Ye Yanran gazed at Jian Wuchen’s right arm, looking puzzled.

Han Yan suddenly recalled that although Ye Yanran possessed the Innate Divine Ability of Heavenly Rain Divine Healing, she was actually clueless about medical skills, really burdening her with the injury inspection.

”Forget it, just use your Heavenly Rain Divine Healing directly.” Han Yan, unwilling to waste time, instructed Ye Yanran.

”Alright.” Ye Yanran wiped her mouth and began to chant.
