Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 973: Chapter 973: Stroking Her Long Hair, Her Face

”Lan Feng, how are you?” Mu Hanyan looked at Ye Lanfeng’s slightly pale face, a pang of pain in her heart, asking worriedly.

”Not too serious, don’t worry about my injuries for now, we’re not out of danger yet.” Ye Lanfeng said softly.

Mu Hanyan snapped back to reality. Although she had passed the crisis, that divine beast hadn’t left, and their danger was far from over.

Mu Hanyan glanced at the divine beast in front of her, it was tilting its head to observe her, its gaze clear yet puzzled, as if scrutinizing something.

Mu Hanyan suddenly grew worried, the memories belonging to it now lay dormant in her mind, might it attempt to crack open her skull to retrieve them?

The divine beast slowly approached, raising its forepaw again.

Ye Lanfeng’s body tensed, fingers tightly grasping the Thousand-breaking Sword at his waist.

”Hey, Brother Divine Beast, Uncle, Elder, I didn’t mean to really, you wouldn’t believe how perilous it was just now, if I had a choice, do you think I’d willingly suffer and risk that? How about we discuss, I’ll return the memories once I find a way, alright?” Mu Hanyan said with a forced smile.

Without the Nine-Turned Soul Pill, the divine beast’s aura seemed weaker than before, perhaps if a fight were to happen, they wouldn’t suffer too greatly.

Yet, a divine beast is still a divine beast, let alone one that was once king-level, there could be no underestimating it, moreover, when the Nine-Turned Soul Pill cracked earlier, she inherited most of the memories, but part of them scattered into the surroundings, who knows if the divine beast might have recovered some.

Memories aside, the key is the innate divine skill, should it awaken, even if just reborn through Nirvana, it remains immensely powerful and terrifying.

Mu Hanyan didn’t want to take chances, avoiding a fight if possible.

”Roar...” The divine beast let out a long howl, suddenly stiffening its body, its forepaw descending toward Mu Hanyan’s head.

Ye Lanfeng’s sword-like brows twitched, a flicker of murderous intent in his eyes, ready to strike.

”Wait!” Mu Hanyan suddenly grabbed his hand.

The divine beast’s gaze remained clear and puzzled, yet within it lay a desolate sorrow that made Mu Hanyan’s heart tremble, as if filled with boundless longing and sadness.

At that moment, Mu Hanyan felt her heart pierced deeply, a searing, excruciating pain, gazing at the divine beast before her, a strong surge of affection rose within, a powerful impulse to get closer to it.

Seeing Mu Hanyan halt Ye Lanfeng’s attack, Zirong and the others were shocked, even suspecting Mu Hanyan appeared alright but was actually mentally shattered, having lost reason.

This was a divine beast, even if akin to an infant stage, still overwhelmingly strong, if that paw came down, how could Mu Hanyan possibly survive? Just as they prepared to act, an astonishing scene unfolded.

The divine beast raised its forepaw high, yet slowly lowered it, brushing over Mu Hanyan’s hair, forehead, nose, finally, lingering long on her cheek.

Its gaze turned even more baffled, yet its expression was so gentle, seemingly filled with affection.

Zirong suddenly recalled the lion-dog she raised as a child, remembering how whenever she returned home, the little one would snuggle to her feet, eagerly watching her, wasn’t its expression just like this?

But this wasn’t a lion-dog, it was a divine beast, which claimed realms and dominated tens of thousands of years ago.

”Roar...” Amidst everyone’s stunned gaze, the divine beast roared again, swiftly turned, and dashed toward the cave entrance, the boulders sealing the cave entrance shattered, as though struck by a thunderclap.

Zirong and Jiang Yuzhe discreetly wiped away cold sweat, recalling the previous scene with lingering fear, Mu Hanyan’s defenses weren’t even a match for those stones, if that divine beast had struck her head... They dared not imagine further.

Outside, the deep thump of the divine beast stepping on the ground grew distant, clearly having abandoned its affection for the ancient relics, departed from Flying Peak.

The final crisis resolved at last, everyone sighed in relief.

Mu Hanyan then glanced at the Fifth Prince and others, though these people harbored ill intentions, fortunately, they came blocking harm for her, or faced with Zhao Lingxian’s summoned skeletons, she’d truly be helpless.

”Young Master Mu, such a coincidence to meet you here.” The Fifth Prince said with a forced smile. That smile was dry, devoid of sincerity.

Nonsense! He hated Mu Hanyan passionately, managing even a smile at such a time was quite something, no way could you expect any sincerity.

”Indeed, quite a coincidence, but if I remember right, Flying Peak seems to be my territory, right? You sneaking into my territory, could it be planning to steal something, Fifth Prince, you as a prince should not do such lowly acts, should you?” Mu Hanyan asked with a sweet smile.

”Certainly not, I just got lost by accident, yes, got lost.” The Fifth Prince slapped his forehead, saying.

As a prince, sneaking onto someone else’s territory to snatch treasures, if word got out it’d be utterly disgraceful, he’d never admit it.

”Oh, so that’s it, then you should leave, and don’t get lost again in the future, lest caught and beaten, losing the royal family’s prestige.” Mu Hanyan said with a cold snort.

This Fifth Prince, simply relentless, despite their status, Mu Hanyan couldn’t casually act against him, yet had to provoke him a bit, make him learn a lesson.

”Hmm, won’t happen, won’t happen.” The Fifth Prince nodded humbly.

Under the eaves, one had to lower their head, let alone with them all heavily injured, daring not to clash with Mu Hanyan. Anyway, the Fifth Prince fully understood one thing, the Capital’s notorious playboy wasn’t famed without reason!

”Mu Hanyan, don’t bully too much, if not for the old man’s Beast Spirit Pearl, do you think you could have dodged a disaster?” The Fifth Prince swallowed the grievance, but Nian An Yao couldn’t gulp it down, recalling the Beast Spirit Pearl filled him with resentment.

Originally he could have used the Beast Spirit Pearl to extract a hefty price from the group, but due to Mu Hanyan’s despicable luring in the divine beast, he never had the chance to speak, wasted his ancestral treasure, gaining nothing.

”Master Nian is right, it’s thanks to you all this time, so your intrusion into my territory, damaging my property, I’ll not pursue, you may leave.” Mu Hanyan waved his hand grandly.
