Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 529: 529 shameless scoundrel

”Hmph, even if Qu Canghai were alive, if I wanted him dead, he couldn’t refuse to die. Your strength isn’t too shabby, a Tenth Rank Great Swordsman, and your essence blood is just the right tonic for this Ancient Contracted Divine Beast,” Xia Youchen said with disdain, clearly not intending to spare Qu Fengting’s life.

”Senior, I beg you, spare my life. As long as you are willing to let me go, I, Qu Fengting, will serve you like an ox or a horse, slave or servant, treating you with the reverence due an esteemed ancestor. Whatever your command, I, Qu Fengting, will brave flames and scale mountains without hesitation. I could even acknowledge you as my adoptive father, henceforth changing my name to Xia Fengting, and serve you as faithfully as if you were my own father.” Qu Fengting, snot and tears running down his face, was kowtowing desperately, begging piteously.

Seeing Qu Fengting so shameless, the young swordsmen felt even more contempt. It was one thing to beg for mercy, but for him to discard his ancestors in order to save his own skin...

Mu Hanyan also curled her lip in disgust. This Qu Fengting truly had no shame; his ability to bend and submit, to cast aside even the basic dignity required of a person, was staggering. Mu Hanyan had originally thought he had the potential of a formidable hero, but it seemed she had overestimated him. Apart from underhandedness and cowardice, there wasn’t a hint of a hero’s boldness in this man.

Xia Youchen did not respond, instead watching with interest. After lying dormant in Exotic Beast Valley for a millennium, the loneliness and solitude could only be imagined. Now finally returned to the world, it was somewhat amusing to encounter such a despicable clown.

”Senior, are you looking for their essence blood? I’ll get to work and kill them for you,” Qu Fengting said, seeing that Xia Youchen had not spoken and, assuming his own words had moved him, quickly got to his feet and volunteered eagerly.

Seeing that he still did not speak, Qu Fengting gritted his teeth, drew his longsword and charged at the young swordsmen closest to him. He had never cared about the lives of these people, and now, fighting for his own survival, how could he possibly show mercy?

The swordsmen already despised Qu Fengting to the core, and though his shameless behavior to save himself was one thing, now he was even raising his hand against them. So they drew their longswords, ready to fight to the death in anger.

Unfortunately, their strength was far inferior to that of Qu Fengting, and after only a few exchanges, they were quickly overpowered, on the verge of dying by his hand.

”Stop!” Just then, Xia Youchen barked in a deep voice, waving his hand to knock Qu Fengting head over heels.

”Hmph, if I want someone dead, I wouldn’t need to lift a finger myself, let alone need your help. The essence blood must be taken by the mouth of the Exotic Beasts for Qiongqi to use it. If you were to kill or wound them, the essence blood would be greatly diminished. Wouldn’t that ruin my plans?” After speaking, Xia Youchen commanded the Qiongqi directly, ”Kill them, suck their essence blood dry.”

The Qiongqi cocked its head, looking at Mu Hanyan and the others, but it hesitated, even taking a half-step back.

Could it be that it hadn’t fully recovered its senses after being reborn, or was the grade of the Beast Blood Pearl extracted from the Exotic Beast insufficient? Xia Youchen wondered, guessing to himself.

”By my command, respect my contract, heed my orders, slaughter them all.” Xia Youchen again chanted that arcane language, extending an arm and pointing at the young swordsmen present.

”Roar.” All around, packs of Exotic Beasts howled to the heavens, once again baring their sharp claws and teeth.

However, perhaps due to some inaccuracies in his contract incantations, the Exotic Beasts did not immediately attack, and they seemed somewhat bewildered.
