Mr. CEO, You Look Strangely Familiar

He got into the back seat, pulled her back with him, and planted a kiss on her face. He snickered, ”No need to pay tonight.”

Sharon Ainsworth opened her eyes. She drowsily stared at the fat-headed, big-eared man so close to her and raised a hand to slap his bald head. ”Who are you?”

”Who do you think? Your man.”

”I don’t... have a man...” She tried to sit up, but Quincy simply pinned her down. The inside of the car instantly became a lewd scene.

In the morning, Sharon Ainsworth woke up to find herself stark naked in the car. She was horrified. She scrambled to put on her clothes, and only after getting out did she realize it was Quincy’s car. She trembled with rage.

Then, she actually got back into the car.

With a brick in her hand.

She sat in the back seat, waiting for Quincy to show up and drive to work.

After about ten minutes, the gate to Quincy’s house opened. He emerged cheerfully, a briefcase tucked under his arm, looking very pleased with himself.

He occasionally rubbed his smooth, bald head as he walked, and soon he was in front of the car.

He opened the car door, humming a little tune as he sat down. He closed the door and was just about to start the car when something struck him hard on the head. His vision went black.

He turned to look and immediately collapsed against the back of the seat.

Sharon Ainsworth dragged him into the back seat, got into the driver’s seat herself, and drove the car into a forest on a mountain road.

Then she threw Quincy out.

After driving the car to the road at the foot of the mountain, Sharon Ainsworth then caught a ride back home.

As soon as she reached her front door, Sharon Ainsworth saw Martin Grant’s car parked outside. She waited a few minutes before going in.

At the living room entrance, she immediately saw Martin Grant sitting on the sofa, with Nicholas Ainsworth sitting across from him.

”Sharon, where were you last night? Martin said he saw you at the KTV, and that you left with Quincy later.”

Sharon Ainsworth faltered. She never would have imagined that he had seen her last night but hadn’t taken her home, instead letting Quincy take her away.

”Brother, I was drunk last night. Martin Grant clearly saw me but didn’t bring me home. He just let Quincy take me. Besides, he broke up with me last night anyway, so from now on, we have nothing to do with each other.”

Nicholas Ainsworth looked at Martin Grant. ”You saw Sharon, why didn’t you bring her home?”

”Here’s what happened. I tried to pull her away, but she wouldn’t let me. She also said she wanted to break up with me, so we broke up. She insisted on leaving with Quincy. What could I do?”

Martin Grant spread his hands, feigning innocence.

Sharon Ainsworth absolutely couldn’t believe he would lie so brazenly to her face.

”Brother, that’s not what happened! He’s lying.”

Nicholas Ainsworth sighed. ”Sharon, I know exactly what kind of person you are. You shouldn’t be fooling around so much. You’re not a kid anymore. You should find a serious relationship.”

”Brother! He was the one who broke up with me first! Then I was drinking too much alone in the private room, and I threw up when I went outside. I don’t know how, but somehow Quincy took me away.”

Obviously, her words weren’t very convincing.

”Sharon, we can still be friends even if we’ve broken up.”

Sharon Ainsworth was so furious she could die. She never thought a man could lie so effortlessly right to her face.

She let out a cold, hollow laugh and turned to go back to her room.

Closing the door, she threw herself onto the bed. The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. ’We’re both women, so why is there such a huge difference in our lives?’

’At first, I almost married Quentin Grant. If I had married Quentin Grant, everything Nora Ainsworth has today would be mine!’

’Now I have nothing, while Nora Ainsworth has a son and a husband.’

Sharon Ainsworth felt that fate was too cruel.

Dorothy Ellsworth and Elmer Grant were fully recovered and could get out of bed to run and jump around again.

In the afternoon, the old professor came to give a lesson.

Having not seen the three children for a long time, the old professor felt a bit restless.

”I heard Elmer and Dorothy were injured. Are you feeling better now?”

”Teacher, we’re all better now!” Dorothy Ellsworth waved her hand.

The old professor looked at Elmer. ”Elmer’s injuries were the most serious. Are you completely recovered now?”

It seemed Elmer had changed quite a bit after this incident. He had become much more polite. ”Yes, Teacher.”

The old professor was quite pleased with his tone. ”Elmer, if you were always like this, your teacher’s heart would be blazing with warmth.”

”Teacher, a blazing heart will burn to a crisp.”

”...”

The old professor cleared his throat, sat down, and didn’t take out any textbooks.

”Today, we’re going to talk about what it means to be a good person. Given what happened recently, I feel that before I teach you about history and culture, I must first talk to you about how to conduct yourselves. You may or may not understand everything, but today, I’m going to share some wisdom I’ve gathered over my long life. I hope you’ll listen carefully.”

As soon as he finished speaking, he noticed that while it used to be only Dylan Grant who listened attentively in class, now all three little ones were sitting up straight and proper.

The old professor was a little surprised. He continued, ”Not every good person has an honest-looking face, and not every bad person looks vicious. Whether you like someone or not, you must show them the greatest respect. What I mean by respect is that if you don’t like someone, you can simply remain silent. You don’t have to say a word. As for liking someone, that’s an emotion you couldn’t stop if you tried. Never resort to violence, no matter if you think someone deserves to be beaten or even deserves to die. A person has only one life, and it is incredibly precious. Therefore, you must always respect life. This is especially true for young, growing children like you. You must have good manners. That is something you can learn over time.”

Elmer Grant nodded. ”Teacher, my mommy has already told me all this.”

The old professor had a sudden realization. ”No wonder you’re so much more polite than before.”

”Today, I’m also going to use a few short stories from history to explain the lessons we can learn from them. First, I’ll tell the story of Simon Seymour smashing the vat.”

”Teacher, how did Simon Say-more smash the vat?” Dorothy Ellsworth spoke up first.

The old professor corrected her, ”It’s not ’Simon Say-more’ smashing the vat, it’s ’Simon Seymour’ smashing the vat.”

”Right, that’s what I said. Simon Say-more smashing the vat.”

The professor corrected her again, ”It’s *Sey-mour*... think of ’see more’ of the sunlight. *Light*.”

Dorothy Ellsworth nodded thoughtfully. ”Teacher, I get it now! It’s Simon Seymour smashed the light!”

The old professor: ”...”

”You’re the one who’s wrong,” Elmer Grant said to Dorothy Ellsworth. ”It should be Simon Say-more smashed the light.”

”...”

The old professor sighed. ”Alright, let’s not argue about this for now. We’ll continue with the story. A long time ago, there was a child named Simon Seymour. He was playing hide-and-seek with his friends. Later, one of his playmates fell into a large vat full of water. Because the vat was taller than the children, the other playmates all ran to get adults while shouting for help. Only Simon Seymour, in a moment of genius, picked up a large rock and smashed the vat to pieces. The water gushed out, and his playmate was saved. Now, I want to ask you, what lesson do you see in this story?”

Dylan Grant was about to speak, but the old professor waved his hand at him. ”Dylan, you can go last. I want to hear what these two little rascals have to say first.”

Dylan Grant was also curious. Every class, the two little ones were guaranteed to make the atmosphere uniquely lively.

Dorothy Ellsworth clapped her hands. ”Teacher, I think Simon Seymour is amazing! He’s so smart. This story shows me that he has a really good brain to be able to think of a solution like that.”

The old professor looked at Elmer Grant. ”And you?”

Elmer Grant grinned at him. ”Teacher, I couldn’t think of anything else. I just want to know... if your butt cracks... is that really a good thing?”

”...”

The old professor looked directly at Dylan Grant. ”You tell me.”

”I think this story tells us that when we encounter problems, we shouldn’t panic. Only by staying calm can we think of a better solution.”

The old professor gave him a thumbs-up. ”Good! You’re truly number one in our class.”

”There are only three students in our class...”

”But it’s still a class. Even though there aren’t many of us, it’s still a group.” The old professor continued, ”Next, we’ll tell another short story. Everyone needs to listen carefully. Afterward, I’m going to ask you again what lesson you learned.”

”Teacher, what’s this story about?”

The old professor stood up with a smile, his hands clasped behind his back, and began to pace. ”This story is called ’Conrad Kent Shares the Pears.’”

He had just finished speaking when Dorothy Ellsworth expressed her astonishment. ”Teacher, a dinosaur shared pears?! An animal that big should eat meat. How could a tiny pear be enough for it?”

”Young Dorothy, the name is ’Conrad Kent.’ It’s the name of a child, not a dinosaur.”

Finished speaking, he continued, ”Now, let’s tell this story. A long, long time ago, there was a child named Conrad Kent. He was one of six brothers, and he was the sixth. Everyone called him Luther because he had a lively and easy-going personality, and everyone liked him.

Even though there were many brothers, their parents were very strict with all of them. They had to study hard, be polite, speak gently, and in all things, the brothers had to be modest and yield to each other instead of only thinking of themselves. They also had to help others in need.

Though Conrad Kent was young, he remembered his parents’ words clearly. He loved to help with chores, always rushing to sweep the floor or carry the bowls, which made him very endearing.

One day, when Conrad Kent was four years old, a student of his father’s came to visit, bringing a large pile of pears for his teacher and his wife. The guest asked Conrad Kent to hand out the pears to everyone. After his father nodded in agreement, little Conrad Kent stood up to do so.

First, he took the largest pear and gave it to their guest. Then he chose two large ones for his father and mother. He continued by giving the large pears to his older brothers one by one. Finally, from the large pile that remained, he took the smallest one for himself.

The guest asked little Conrad Kent why he had taken the smallest pear for himself.

Conrad Kent replied, ’I’m the youngest, so of course I should take the smallest one.’ Upon hearing his answer, the guest praised him profusely. His father also nodded in satisfaction. ”

Elmer Grant raised his hand. The old professor nodded. ”Elmer, what do you want to say?”

”Teacher, I do that at home, too! I always give the big one to my older brother and take the small one for myself.”
