Mr. CEO, You Look Strangely Familiar

”I’ve figured it out!” Dylan Grant said, mulling it over. ”It must have been on a dark and windy night. Mommy, you went out all by yourself and happened to run into Daddy driving his car. He fell in love at first sight, insisted you get in, and that’s how you began to get to know each other and fall in love.”

Nora Ainsworth cringed. ”It wasn’t that wonderful. The first time I met your daddy is not a very pleasant memory. As I recall, it started in a hotel...”

”A hotel?!” the two boys exclaimed in unison, then grinned mischievously. ”A hotel is a great place, perfect for all kinds of romance, Mommy.”

Nora Ainsworth was getting exasperated. ”It’s not what you two are thinking.”

”Then what was it like?”

Nora Ainsworth looked at the two of them. ”Time for bed.”

”But Mommy, we can’t go to sleep until you tell us.”

”What do you mean you can’t go to sleep? There’s nothing to tell. I just went to the wrong room at the hotel and ran into your daddy. That’s all,” she said simply.

”What was Mommy doing at a hotel?” Dylan Grant’s little face was tense.

”I was going to see your godfather.” ’Thinking back,’ Nora Ainsworth reflected, ’why didn’t I just call Leon Lynch beforehand? But... if I hadn’t gone, how would I have ever met Quentin Grant...’

”Okay, we’re relieved it was to see our godfather. By the way, Mommy, so you went into the wrong room, and then you and Daddy...” He pressed his two thumbs together and bumped them. ”...did *this*?”

Nora Ainsworth’s expression turned stern. ”You two are going to be a menace to young women when you grow up.”

Dylan Grant lay there obediently. ”Mommy, Daddy isn’t here tonight. If you’re feeling lonely, you can sleep with us, okay?”

Nora Ainsworth got off the bed and slipped on her shoes. ”What, just because your daddy’s gone for one night, I can’t sleep alone?”

”What my brother means is, he’s worried you’ll let your imagination run wild and won’t be able to sleep,” Elmer Grant corrected. ”After all, a lot of men at hotels in the Capital have female company...”

Nora Ainsworth said sheepishly, ”I trust your daddy.”

”Okay, then. Goodnight, Mommy. We’re going to sleep now.” Dylan Grant pulled the covers up.

Nora Ainsworth thought for a moment and glanced at her children. ”My darlings, your daddy... he’s been completely faithful, right?”

The corner of Dylan Grant’s mouth twitched. ”Mommy, did you forget what you just said? ’I trust your daddy.’”

Nora Ainsworth continued, ”Right. Your daddy wouldn’t even give the trash at those hotels a second glance.”

Dylan Grant: ”...”

”Mommy, you should go after him. It’s not that far,” Elmer Grant said, sitting up. ”Daddy has a lot of fans now. The internet is a strange and powerful place. Someone is bound to see he’s in the Capital, and then a horde of them will descend on the hotel.”

Nora Ainsworth shook her head and said calmly, ”The hotel has security. What you’re describing are just hypotheticals. Don’t worry about it. Okay, my darlings, Mommy is going to bed now. Goodnight, babies.”

After turning off the light, Nora Ainsworth went back to her room.

She sat on the edge of the bed and couldn’t resist opening her computer again.

When she saw the news, she immediately clicked on the page.

Headline: Quentin Grant’s Hotel Swarmed by Massive Crowd of Fans

She read the article. The main point was that Quentin Grant was staying at a Seven-star hotel along with the Supreme Leader of Harrowin and his entourage.

A fan who spotted him posted about it on social media and online forums. In response, his female fans in the Capital flocked to the hotel in a frenzy. The crowd was so large that security lost control and had to call the police.

Police forces had been dispatched and were currently dispersing the fans.

Nora Ainsworth couldn’t sit still. The news was exactly what her son had predicted.

She changed her clothes and went to the boys’ room. ”Mommy’s going to go see your daddy. You two get some sleep.”

But the two boys got out of bed together. Only then did Nora Ainsworth notice that they were fully and neatly dressed in the clothes they had taken off for bed.

”Why are you dressed?”

Elmer Grant tilted his little face up. ”My brother said you definitely wouldn’t be able to sleep tonight. Mommy, we’ll go with you.”

Nora Ainsworth nodded. ”Okay, but you two can’t wander off, or you might get kidnapped.”

”Who would dare kidnap us? We have our weapons and Monty. If we can’t beat them, he’ll eat them.”

”Right,” Nora Ainsworth said at once. ”Bring Monty, just to be safe.”

And so, the family of three was on the move.

A three-hour drive brought them to the Capital.

When they arrived near the entrance of the Seven-star hotel, they saw the crowd had mostly dispersed. Business at the hotel was booming, as the female fans had banded together to book all the other available rooms for several nights—until Lillian Bancroft and Quentin Grant were scheduled to leave.

Because the rooms were limited, the fans who couldn’t get a room had no choice but to leave.

Even with a foreign Supreme Leader present, the hotel couldn’t be completely cleared out. Thus, several hundred fans were now lying in wait, their room doors ajar.

The fervor of the fans was staggering.

Quentin Grant was already immensely popular, and his wealth and power were obvious to everyone.

A tall tree attracts the wind, as they say, but he never got involved in politics. As a result, the government not only refrained from suppressing the Grant Family but actually helped them expand into foreign markets, which is how they achieved their current standing.

Wearing sunglasses, a mask, and a hat, Nora Ainsworth got out of the car. Her two boys were dressed identically. The three of them entered the lobby together.

The two boys walked in front, Nora Ainsworth followed behind, and Monty was left in the trunk of the car.

No one recognized the trio for the time being.

Inside the elevator were three or four young, fashionably dressed girls. They wore stockings under their short skirts, seemingly unfazed by the cold, and were carrying bags of food while chatting and laughing.

One of them gestured wildly as she spoke. ”There are barely any photos of him online. Young Master Grant has only appeared in front of the media a handful of times, so the same few pictures get passed around constantly. I saw him in the flesh tonight, and holy crap, he is *so* handsome. A man like that is my absolute dream guy!”

Another girl, her face flushed with excitement, chimed in, ”Young Master Grant isn’t a celebrity, but he’s more popular than one! I mean, seriously, how can a person be that handsome? Those facial features... tsk, tsk. And he’s good friends with Ethan Ellsworth. It’s a shame Ethan Ellsworth is already married, but even though Young Master Grant has kids, he’s not married yet. And that means other women still have a shot!”

”...”

’That’s my man! He’s my man! Stop dreaming!’ Nora Ainsworth kept her head down, listening to the girls chatter and screaming internally.

But she forced herself to hold it in.

But then Elmer Grant, who was crouching on the floor, spoke up. ”Miss, are you not wearing any underwear?”

All the girls’ eyes darted to the crouching Elmer Grant. The girl directly in front of him instantly turned beet red and clamped a hand over her skirt. ”You little kid, how could you peek?”

Because of his mask, Elmer Grant’s words were a bit muffled. ”I wasn’t peeking. I was looking fair and square. Miss, why aren’t you wearing any underwear?”

The girl looked furious. She glared at him. ”You little brat! You have no manners!”

With that, she turned to Nora Ainsworth. ”Are you his mother? What are you three supposed to be, spies? You need to get your child under control.”

Nora Ainsworth remained silent.

Dylan Grant spoke up. ”Miss, my brother was just tired and wanted to rest for a second. Who knew he’d happen to crouch down right behind you and see everything? How about this: you can marry my little brother. That way, he can take responsibility.”

The girl flew into a rage. ”I’m almost twenty! Marry a little pipsqueak?”

”Older woman-younger man relationships are trendy right now.”

”No, thanks. Not in a million years. You’re psycho.”

The elevator doors opened, and the young women walked out.

As they walked away, they muttered, ”I don’t know what’s wrong with kids these days, acting so grown-up. So indecent at such a young age. They’re not going to turn out to be anything good...”

The mother and her two sons followed them out of the elevator. Far from being angry, the faces hidden beneath their masks were struggling to suppress laughter.

The young women walked ahead, and the mother and sons followed.

After a few steps, they turned and glared at the trio.

”Hey, why are you following us?!”

Elmer Grant sneered. ”Miss, don’t be so full of yourself, okay? We’re looking for our daddy. You’re not our daddy, so what use do we have for you?”

The girl snorted and continued walking.

Because they had bought their rooms early, they were close to the presidential suite, so the group of them always came and went together.

As they stopped in front of their door and inserted the key card, the girls went inside. Only then did they notice the three mysterious, heavily disguised figures walk past their door and head toward the presidential suite.

”Who are they?”

”You think they’re here to cause trouble on purpose?”

”They could be Young Master Grant’s wife and kids. Didn’t the rumors say he has twin sons? Look, those two kids were about the same height. Do you think it could be...”

”No way. I don’t think so.”

The girls chattered for a bit, each of them poking their head out to look.

Nora Ainsworth rang Quentin Grant’s doorbell. The Men in Black standing guard at the door didn’t even try to stop her.

Seeing this, the girls’ hearts sank.

The door opened quickly, and who should be standing there but Quentin Grant himself?

He swept Nora Ainsworth into his arms. Nora Ainsworth took off her mask, revealing her face.

The young women were terrified.

They all rushed forward to apologize.

Nora Ainsworth smiled. ”It’s nothing.”

Just as she was about to go inside...

The young woman from before said hurriedly, ”Wait, didn’t your son just say he was going to take responsibility for me?”

Quentin Grant turned back and looked at Nora Ainsworth. ”What’s this about?”

Nora Ainsworth whispered, ”I’ll tell you later.”

She then looked at Dylan and Elmer Grant. ”You started this mess, so you can clean it up. Mommy’s staying out of it.”

Dylan Grant said, ”Miss, you said it yourself just now. You’re almost twenty, so why would you marry a little pipsqueak?”

Without missing a beat, the girl shamelessly threw Dylan Grant’s own words back at him: ”Older woman-younger man relationships are trendy right now.”

Dylan Grant chuckled and returned her own words right back at her. ”No, thanks. I wouldn’t let my brother do it, not in a million years. Psycho.”

Elmer Grant then chimed in, perfectly mimicking what the girl had muttered as she left the elevator. ”Sigh, I don’t know what’s wrong with teenage girls these days. Wearing super-short skirts and not minding the cold, not even wearing underwear... So indecent at such a young age. They’re not going to turn out to be anything good...”

The girl’s face was now a spectacular patchwork of red and pale.
