Quick Transmigration: The Cannon Fodder's Comeback in the Era Tales

Chapter 503: Chapter 503: The Vicious Mother-in-law 49

Sanlin is in first grade, Siling in kindergarten, but there’s no kindergarten in the countryside, so he has to stay home for now, and let the village kids take him to the mountains to cut pig grass for work points.

At first, Siling went to the mountains just to play, but after being beaten by Yuan Chun and going hungry a few times, he obediently learned to cut pig grass with the other children.

When Ma Laosan and Wang Yingying graduated from college and were assigned work in the county town of their original household registration, Sanlin and Siling couldn’t stay in the countryside anymore, crying and screaming to move back to the city.

Once Ma Laosan’s couple settled into their jobs, they brought their two sons back to the city.

In 1982, the rural land contracting system extended to every village and household.

Yuan Chun took the opportunity to divide the family assets.

Considering the grievances of the previous life against Ma Laoer’s family were indeed prior, Ma Laoer’s couple demonstrated unfilial behavior later, so Yuan Chun left the brick house to Ma Laoer and even gave him two hundred yuan as part of the family division.

But Ma Laoer and Wang Cui were aware that the family actually had several thousand yuan, earned from Yuan Chun selling wild boars over the years.

Yet the family division only gave their second household two hundred yuan.

Wang Cui was not willing to accept this.

Wang Cui cried, ”Mother, you’re just giving us two hundred yuan, isn’t that too little? All three of my children are studying and need money everywhere, this money won’t last long. Mother, please give us a bit more, we know you have quite a lot of money on hand.”

Yuan Chun laughed coldly, ”Wang Cui, have I not beaten you in a long time that you’ve forgotten the pain?”

”That money, I earned it hunting, why should I give it to you?” Yuan Chun walked over and slapped Wang Cui on the face. ”I’ve raised my son, and now you want me to be responsible for raising grandchildren?”

”I warn you all, no one should think of taking my money, it’s my money earned for my own retirement. Of course, since I didn’t divide my money for you folks, in the future, your second household doesn’t need to take care of me when I’m old, sick, or dead. You two won’t have to worry about my life or death.”

”But as for wanting more money, that’s never happening.”

”Laoer, Laoer’s wife, you two usually love to cut corners on work points, you know how many work points you earn, and since you have to raise three children, your work points barely cover your family’s food and drink. I’m giving you two hundred yuan, that’s a gain for you, not to mention I’ve left the brick house to your second household. That brick house was originally built with Lao Da’s stipend and cost seven or eight hundred yuan. Laoer, Laoer’s wife, if you’re still not satisfied, that’s fine; then you can’t have the house all to yourselves, split it half and half with Lao Da.”

”Mother, we were wrong.” Ma Laoer quickly knelt down and admitted his mistake.

Seeing that her few words cost her half the house, Wang Cui also quickly knelt, ”Mother, we were wrong, we’ll divide it however you say.”

Though they received less money, in the future they won’t have to provide for the mother-in-law’s retirement, won’t have to deal with her life and death, and can live as a family. Plus, having this brick house isn’t bad.

The second household didn’t feel like they were losing out.

It was Ma Laosan’s turn...

Ma Laosan was left with nothing after the family division.

Ma Laosan’s eyes were bursting with rage, ”Mother, these years, I’ve given you so much money, and you’re leaving me with nothing at all. Mother, even if you disregard me as your son, at least consider Sanlin and Siling, your grandchildren.”

”I don’t want you as my son anymore, why would I care for grandsons?”
