Rise in the Martial Chaos: Starting From a Martial Arts School

Insights from the cultivation of the Three True Skills, and the profound mysteries of their techniques, surged through his mind like a tidal wave—colliding, merging, and constantly birthing new understandings.

It was as if the entire world of the Martial Dao was slowly unfolding before his eyes. The true meanings, once obscure and hard to grasp, now seemed simple and clear.

Time slipped by, second by second. Before he knew it, that strange, transcendent state began to fade, and the effects of the Heart Inquiry Pill gradually dissipated.

Yang Jing felt as if he had plummeted from the heavens back to the mortal realm, returning to his normal state. The supreme clarity in his mind gradually receded, and its rapid processing slowly returned to normal.

He slowly opened his eyes, a glint of enlightenment flashing within them. Carefully assessing the changes in his body and mind, he discovered a subtle, yet tangible, difference in himself compared to before he had taken the Heart Inquiry Pill.

He could clearly feel his mind working much faster. When contemplating matters of the Martial Dao, his thoughts became clearer and quicker.

Details that once required painstaking deliberation were now understood in an instant.

To Yang Jing’s greater surprise, during the transcendent state induced by the Heart Inquiry Pill, a deluge of insights regarding the Mountain-Breaking Seal, the Indestructible True Skill, and the River-Crossing Technique had flooded his mind. It was like a river of stars pouring down, filling every void in his understanding of the Martial Dao.

This was especially true for the Mountain-Breaking Seal. As his primary True Skill, he had long since practiced it to a proficient level, yet he had always been missing that final touch when it came to fully integrating his fist intent.

But now, those hazy bottlenecks had all been shattered. Countless details about generating power, deflecting force, and fusing with his fist intent appeared with crystal clarity in his mind. This directly and dramatically boosted his training efficiency with the Mountain-Breaking Seal, pushing his progress forward by a huge margin.

Yang Jing willed it, and the panel materialized before him—

[Mountain-Breaking Seal: Minor Completion (1395/2000)]

[Indestructible True Skill, Second Layer: Minor Completion (466/2000)]

[River-Crossing Technique: Minor Completion (416/2000)]

A surge of joy went through Yang Jing.

’I improved so much after taking the Heart Inquiry Pill!’

The Mountain-Breaking Seal, the Indestructible True Skill, and the River-Crossing Technique—all three of his True Skills had improved dramatically.

Even training in a B-rank Training Room would have taken several days to achieve this result.

If he were training out in the world, this single Heart Inquiry Pill would be worth nearly a month of bitter cultivation.

And yet, the immediate training results were merely the most insignificant benefit of the Heart Inquiry Pill.

Suppressing his excitement, Yang Jing immediately calmed his mind and began to carefully sort through the myriad insights he had gained about the Mountain-Breaking Seal.

From the opening stance to sinking his qi into his Dantian at the end, from the fierce burst of a single move to the fluid grace of his combos, he had thoroughly grasped the profound meaning of every single component.

He knew in his heart that taking the Heart Inquiry Pill had done more than just give him an immediate boost in his three martial skills.

The insights that had now crystalized would support his training for a long time to come, helping him avoid many pitfalls on his cultivation path and making his training efficiency far greater than before.

Then, he shot to his feet. With a pulse of his aura, he once again began to practice the Mountain-Breaking Seal in the Training Room.

This time, the power behind his fists was even more ferocious and condensed. With every punch, the wind howled like thunder, and the churning shockwaves faintly rang with the sound of metal striking stone.

The transitions between his Punching Techniques were seamless. Ferocity concealed fluidity, and dominance revealed agility. It was a world of difference from his previous training sessions.

The howling wind from his fists raged throughout the Training Room, creating muffled echoes as it struck the warm jade walls. Even the primordial energy in the air was drawn in by his power, circulating with his every move.

Yang Jing could clearly feel that after taking the Heart Inquiry Pill, his control over the Mountain-Breaking Seal had reached a new peak. The force, angle, and Inner Qi circulation of every punch were now exquisitely precise.

Subtle variations that once required repetitive practice to master now came to him effortlessly.

He was completely immersed in his training, feeling no fatigue. He practiced for over two hours, only stopping when the Inner Qi circulating through his body neared saturation. He slowly retracted his fists and stood still, his breathing steady, a sharp light glinting in his eyes.

He slowly took stock of the changes within him. After just over two hours of practice, his mastery of the Mountain-Breaking Seal had improved by a huge margin compared to before he took the Heart Inquiry Pill.

His fist intent was more condensed, and the fusion of his Inner Qi with his techniques was more perfect. It was as if he had touched the threshold of a deeper level of this True Skill.

Yang Jing took a deep breath, reining in his elation. After tidying himself up a bit and calming his mind, he pushed open the heavy stone door of the Training Room and stepped outside.

The sun was shining brightly outside. The mountain path of Lingxi Peak was lined with lush greenery, and the air was thick with Spiritual Qi—a stark contrast to the tranquility inside the Training Room.

Yang Jing had just left the Training Room area and hadn’t yet started down the mountain path when he spotted a tall figure, their back to him, standing beside the bluestone path not far away.

The person wore plain white martial robes and had an upright bearing. They stood with hands clasped behind their back, gazing at a cluster of blooming wildflowers by the path, exuding an air of cold detachment.

Yang Jing recognized her at a glance. The tall figure was the Senior Sister of Lingxi Peak, Si Jiawen.

He didn’t know if his Senior Sister was there specifically for him, but as the leader of Lingxi Peak’s younger generation and a senior who had often looked out for him, the proper courtesy was to go and greet her regardless.

With this in mind, Yang Jing immediately strode forward to greet Si Jiawen.

Just as he drew near, Si Jiawen, still standing with her hands behind her back, slowly turned around. Her cool gaze met Yang Jing’s.

Yang Jing was taken aback for a moment, but his expression quickly softened into a warm smile. ”Senior Sister,” he said, ”what a coincidence to run into you here.”

Si Jiawen’s features were delicate, with a hint of coldness in her eyes. At his words, she raised an eyebrow. Her gaze fell upon Yang Jing, and she spoke in a tone that was level but clear, ”It’s no coincidence. I came looking for you. Master wants to see you.”
