Rise in the Martial Chaos: Starting From a Martial Arts School

Xuanzhen Sect, in the great hall of the Main Peak.

When Cao Zhen finished speaking, a brief silence fell over the upper echelon of the Xuanzhen Sect gathered in the great hall. They all lowered their heads in thought, brows furrowed, mentally weighing the sect’s reserves of Exotic Beast Musk against the allocation of the new training rooms.

After a moment, Chief Elder Ouyang Jingxuan was the first to break the silence. With his white hair and beard, he had a solemn expression, and his voice was steady and strong. ”Sect Leader, with the sect’s current reserves of Exotic Beast Musk, we still need to supply the Grade B, C, and D Training Rooms of the Seven Veins year-round. Factoring in daily consumption and our emergency reserves, we can build four or five Grade A Training Rooms at most. Any more would disrupt the normal operation of the sect’s lower-level training rooms.”

As Ouyang Jingxuan finished, everyone in the hall frowned even more deeply.

After all, between the Main Peak and the Seven Veins, there were eight Senior Brothers and Senior Sisters in total, each representing the apex of their Vein’s younger generation.

In addition to these eight, the sect also placed great importance on Chu Yunhai and Yang Jing, who had tied for first place in the Fushan competition. They were regarded as the future core talents of the sect.

These ten were all individuals of exceptional talent, yet now only four or five Grade A Training Rooms were to be allocated among them. The decision of who to choose was incredibly difficult.

Cao Zhen contemplated for a moment, his gaze sweeping across the hall before he slowly spoke, making his decision. ”Then we shall construct five Grade A Training Rooms. Four of them will be assigned to the Senior Brothers of each Vein who rank in the top four of the Profound Truth List. Should the rankings on the Profound Truth List change in the future, the rights to these rooms will change as well. The most capable will hold them. This will serve to motivate all our prodigious disciples to strive harder.”

Everyone looked up at Cao Zhen, who was seated at the head of the hall. Their expressions were thoughtful, but no one voiced any objection.

Cao Zhen paused briefly before continuing, ”As for the fifth Training Room, it will be for the exclusive use of the top potential seed from among the disciples below the rank of Senior Brother and Senior Sister. We will focus the sect’s resources to cultivate this single most promising talent with all our might.”

Upon hearing this, everyone slowly nodded, their faces showing approval for Cao Zhen’s decision.

The fact that the Yunxiao Sect, already far ahead of them, had just produced another young True Qi Realm prodigy brought immense pressure and a sense of urgency to the leaders of the Xuanzhen Sect.

The plan for the Grade A Training Rooms, which had been shelved and delayed, now had to be implemented immediately. There was no time to lose.

At that moment, Peak Master Zhenyue, Qin Gang, looked up at Cao Zhen and asked with a grave expression, ”Sect Leader, the top four on the Profound Truth List are easy to determine—they are the strongest Senior Brothers of their respective Veins. But as for the top potential seed, don’t we have to wait another two months to decide? If we open the Grade A Training Rooms now, what shall be done about the fifth room?”

At Peak Master Zhenyue’s words, everyone present frowned slightly, a hint of anxiety creeping into their expressions.

Everyone present was already feeling immense pressure and urgency. The reappearance of the Demon Sect in Jintai Prefecture and Chen Chu of the Yunxiao Sect breaking through to the True Qi Realm made every single second feel precious.

In the past, a two-month wait would have been acceptable—not too long, not too short.

But now, everyone wanted to seize every moment to begin pouring the sect’s vast resources into cultivating their top disciples. A two-month delay had become intolerable.

In two months, a supremely talented disciple could lay a solid foundation in a Grade A Training Room. It was enough time to create a significant gap between them and their peers, and more than enough time for the Xuanzhen Sect to fall another step behind the Yunxiao Sect in their rivalry.

From his seat at the head of the hall, Cao Zhen’s sharp gaze swept over everyone. He spoke slowly, his tone resolute. ”In my view, the contest between Chu Yunhai and Yang Jing for the top potential seed doesn’t need to wait two months. We will decide it within the next few days.”

Upon hearing this, Peak Master Lingxi, Bai Bing, furrowed her delicate brows. As Yang Jing’s master, she naturally hoped her disciple would have ample time to prepare. But the thought of the Demon Sect’s threat and the Yunxiao Sect closing in weighed heavily on her heart. In the end, she didn’t voice her objection, simply giving a slight nod in tacit agreement.

The other leaders in the hall also nodded in agreement. This was a time for decisive action; they couldn’t afford to be indecisive and waste a single moment.

Peak Master Lei Lie of Thunder Peak and Peak Master Huang Zhen of Celestial Derivation Peak, in particular, had always felt the Xuanzhen Sect could be too indecisive. Seeing the Sect Leader act with such resolve, they gave their silent approval.

At the head of the hall, Cao Zhen’s gaze shifted, landing on Chief Elder Ouyang Jingxuan seated at the far end. ”Elder Ouyang,” he said in a deep voice.

Ouyang Jingxuan immediately looked up, his gaze respectful as he awaited Cao Zhen’s instructions.

Cao Zhen continued, ”Elder Ouyang, the matter of the top potential seed must be decided quickly. You will begin the preparations in the coming days, while the sect concurrently prepares for the opening of the Grade A Training Rooms.

”Three days from now, you will personally assess the strength, temperament, and potential of Chu Yunhai and Yang Jing to determine who will be our top potential seed.

”All of the Xuanzhen Sect’s most vital, top-tier resources must be poured into this top seed. This is a critical factor in whether we can close the gap with the Yunxiao Sect.”

Ouyang Jingxuan’s expression grew even more grave. Knowing this matter concerned the sect’s future, he dared not show the slightest negligence. He immediately stood, bowed to accept the order, and his voice rang out, firm and strong, ”Yes, Sect Leader. This old man understands. I will not fail this mission!”

Cao Zhen gestured with his hand for Ouyang Jingxuan to sit down. His tone remained steady. ”There is no need for such ceremony, Elder Ouyang. This matter concerns the future of our sect. I am entrusting you with this difficult task.”

Once Ouyang Jingxuan was seated, Cao Zhen’s gaze again swept over the seven Peak Masters and the Chief Elder. ”The matter of the Grade A Training Rooms is settled, then,” he said in a deep voice. ”The top potential seed will be decided in three days, and construction on the five Grade A Training Rooms will begin immediately thereafter.
