The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth

Wang Ya planned to sell the two Wizard’s Rings for Magic Stones to free up some capital.

He had already sorted through them and picked out the useful items.

He swapped out his own Low-tier Witchcraft Scrolls—Wind God’s Company and Particle Shield—for the Middle-tier Witchcraft Scrolls found inside the Wizard’s Rings: Ice Seal Barrier and Fire Sun Star.

As for the Extraordinary Potions, there wasn’t much difference. Wizards generally carried Azure Potions and Recovery Potions for healing injuries and restoring Particle Energy.

As for the Middle-tier Spear Witchcraft Artifact, its innate Extraordinary Trait allowed it to easily pierce through a Physique value of 30.

It sacrificed all other functions in exchange for the purest piercing power.

Wang Ya didn’t like this Middle-tier Witchcraft Artifact. It was too one-dimensional; aside from its piercing power, it had no other features. It couldn’t even produce the infectious radiation of Particle Energy.

The Particle Energy gathered at the spear’s tip, compressed and extremely focused, but for some Wizards, physical damage wasn’t a fatal blow.

Even if their heart was destroyed, they could get a new one through Wizard Surgery.

Regenerating a heart using other Wizardry Means wasn’t very difficult either.

Selling the Long Spear Witchcraft Artifact for operating funds was, in Wang Ya’s opinion, the correct choice.

Harak flew down and landed on Wang Ya’s shoulder. Just as he was preparing to leave his Wizard’s Residence for the Free Zone, he felt a sensation from the Wizard Mark on his palm.

As he channeled his Spiritual Power into it, a flash of surprise crossed his eyes. A Wizard named Denno wanted to exchange identification information with him.

Wang Ya was a little confused. He didn’t seem to have any connection to this person. ’How did he get my Wizard Mark’s identification information?’

The message provided an explanation: ”Lower House Wizard Freshman Wang Ya Harak, I am Denno Lofie, a Wizard from the White Bone School. Wizard Yi Si asked me to meet you. The White Bone School is willing to support you... sign a Wizard Contract... The support includes... As long as you place in the top three in the Secret Realm competition, Wizard Yi Si will even recommend you to an Official White Bone Wizard, and you will become an Inheritor Disciple of a White Bone Wizard.”

After reading the message, Wang Ya’s brow furrowed slightly.

The fact that he had brought back news of the Evil God incident was no secret to the Extreme Wizard Apprentices and the Upper House Wizards.

He understood Wizard Yi Si’s actions perfectly.

To a Wizard, everything in the world has value.

A Wizard also has value. The greater the value one displays, the more investment they attract from other Wizards, and a Wizard Contract is the best way to formalize this.

To gain something, one must give something in return later on.

Wizard Yi Si had taken note of his survival in the Evil God incident and intended to use him as a pawn to exert some influence on the Wizard Family Alliance.

Wang Ya fell silent, not immediately giving a joyful reply like other Wizard Freshmen would have.

The support package included a large amount of Extraordinary Resources and a supply of Magic Stones. If he had these, he would no longer have to worry about a shortage of Magic Stones.

He could devote more time and energy to increasing his Power, not to mention that the support also included several Witchcrafts from the White Bone School that were already at the Middle Level.

’It’s truly an incredibly tempting offer!’

Placing in the top three would mean securing a spot in the Dark Land and becoming the Inheritor Disciple of an Official Wizard. He would be qualified to learn more powerful and systematic inherited Extraordinary Knowledge, and he would also gain all sorts of permissions and a steady supply of resources.

The White Bone Wizard’s White Bone Particle Energy was renowned throughout the entire Dark Land, making other Wizard Influences wary.

In terms of Power, the White Bone Wizard was also counted among the strongest.

Almost no Lower House Wizard would refuse such an offer; even Upper House Wizards would be tempted.

But Wang Ya’s heart remained unsettled. The matter with Ancient Forest Mountain and Wizard Yi Si was secondary; his primary concern was his own Wizard Path.

’The White Bone Wizard is an Elemental Wizard, and so am I. It seems like it would be a really good fit.’

’Should I choose the White Bone Lineage, then?’ Wang Ya’s brow furrowed. He didn’t understand the pros and cons of the various Extraordinary Schools. Gray had mentioned some things before, but he only had a rudimentary understanding.

Logically speaking, for a Lower House Wizard Freshman, having any Extraordinary School appear and offer to invest in and support them should be an immense stroke of luck.

He shouldn’t be in a position to be picky, yet he couldn’t shake the feeling of unease, as if choosing the White Bone Lineage would cause him to miss out on something more important.

Just then, he felt another sensation in his palm. He froze. ’What is with all these messages, one after another?’

This time, however, it wasn’t a message from an unfamiliar Wizard, but an official notice from the Wizard Task management agency.

”Lower House Wizard Student Wang Ya Harak, your designated task has been assessed and finalized as follows:”

”Task Level: A”

”Task Details: An Evil God incident occurred in the Maya Kingdom, an event previously unknown. Lower House Wizard Wang Ya Harak, under conditions of extreme danger, gathered extensive information on the Evil God incident, left definitive visual evidence in a True Sight Ball, and returned safely to the Dark Land.”

”Reward: Illusory Dream Garden Secret Realm (one free entry), 2,000 Dark Points, Land of Inheritance (may freely choose one piece of Wizard Knowledge).”

A look of astonishment flashed in Wang Ya’s eyes. The task had been upgraded from a D Level mission to an A Level one. He had never heard of such a massive leap in rank before.
