The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth

Ras came over to inform them, her face flushed with excitement. Lowly merchant caravans like theirs rarely had the chance to see His Majesty the King.

The other Knights traveling with them were visibly moved. They couldn’t help but dismount and walk toward the center of the town. For a King to personally come and see commoners was truly a rare event.

Some of the commoners working in the rice paddies on either side of the road they had come from had also heard the news and were steadily pouring into the town from behind them.

Wang Ya’s eyes were filled with thought. He subconsciously pressed the bracelet on his left wrist, ultimately deciding to go have a look and assess the situation.

The True Sight Ball needed to record both sound and image to serve as real proof.

Kenny, dressed in magnificent attire, stood in the town’s central square. He was surrounded by Kingdom Soldiers who served as his guards, clearing out an open space.

A huge tent had been set up, with soldiers standing guard around it. Members of the royal family stood at the entrance, smiling at the crowd.

”Your Majesty Kenny... Is that His Majesty Kenny? Why does he look so young?” Some of the commoners who had seen him before or knew of the King’s deeds stared in astonishment at the royal family members in the square.

It was simply unbelievable. All the members of the royal family had become young again. How had they managed it?

Kenny was handsome, with blue hair, green eyes, and an aquiline nose. He carried the air of a king exceptionally well. Wearing two rings—one red and one blue—he gripped the King’s Scepter and declared in a loud voice, ”My subjects! I am your king, Kenny Maya! I’m sure you must be very curious about the change in me, about why I have regained my youth.”

”I will tell you! This is a gift from a god! The God of Gendas has bestowed upon me Divine Power. I am the god’s messenger! As long as you believe in the God of Gendas, you too can receive the god’s blessing and be sheltered by Divine Power!”

The other members of the royal family also spoke up one by one, their voices high and filled with temptation.

”The god loves all people, and His Majesty Kenny loves every one of his subjects even more! He is willing to spread the god’s radiance to every inch of the Maya Kingdom!”

”Do you want to stay forever young? Do you want to be one with the god? Do you want to obtain Divine Power? As long as you believe in the God of Gendas, enter the tent, and receive the god’s blessing, you can have it all!”

At this, Kenny broke into a brilliant smile. ”I want everyone to be one with the god, to establish the Maya Divine Kingdom, where every subject is a Son of God!”

The crowd of commoners instantly erupted, growing fanatical. They began shouting things like ”Long live His Majesty Kenny!” and ”Long live the God of Gendas!”

The common folk lacked the capacity to recognize or question what was happening. They saw their once-distant King, who had truly regained his youth, personally come to share a god’s radiance. Only a single thought remained in their minds.

’I want to be one with the god!’

The Knights in the caravan, like Nicotine and Hans, were also shaken and excited. ’Maybe it’s real. This has to be real.’ They had seen King Kenny before, when he was white-haired and decrepit. This handsome young king looked exactly like the old king.

Who doesn’t want eternal life?

Who doesn’t want to stay forever young and gain the power of a god?

They became completely fanatical, all thoughts of selling their caravan’s goods forgotten.

Ras stood out in the crowd, looking somewhat out of place. She had come out of curiosity and reverence, but now she found that everyone around her, including her own father, had flushed faces and were shouting fanatically. They were completely different from before—unfamiliar, even frightening.

”Don’t rush, everyone. Enter the tent one by one to receive the god’s baptism.” Kenny had the soldiers maintain order. As he watched the endless stream of commoners enter the tent, the smile on his face grew exceptionally brilliant.

Meanwhile, the commoners emerging from the other side of the tent were all smiling. They looked noticeably younger, which solidified the fanaticism of the remaining crowd.

”Ras, quick, shout for the God of Gendas with me! We’re going to be one with the god, too!”

Nicotine said to Ras excitedly. Dazed and lost, she followed her father into the tent.

Just as she was about to fully enter, she subconsciously glanced back and saw the blond-haired young man standing outside the crowd, his expression indifferent, his gaze icy.

She opened her mouth to say something, but the lowered curtain flap blocked everything from view.

A faint blue light glittered in Wang Ya’s pupils as he focused on Kenny, his gaze gradually turning cold and sinister.

He looked like an ordinary human, and even Spiritual Power couldn’t detect anything wrong. But under the analysis of the Eye of Truth, nothing could be hidden.

[Target: Maya King ’Kenny’]

[Details: Physical body has been modified by an unknown substance. This substance affects the flesh, exhibiting the devouring and proliferative traits of an unknown creature. It is continuously replacing the body’s cells. The right arm shows the highest degree of mutation and replacement, emitting a faint biological fluctuation. A Special Ability is suspected.]

[Power Level: Aura fluctuations are comparable to a Level 2 Wizard Apprentice.]

[Confirmation: 85% match with the Belief in the Evil God incident recorded in the Dark Land. Danger Level: Red Alert. Please handle with appropriate caution.]

[Note: This being can no longer be classified as human, but rather as a vessel for the unknown substance. Its heart has been replaced and possesses astonishing Biological Energy. The heart is also the location of the unknown substance and hosts an even stronger unknown creature.]

Wang Ya remained expressionless, but he had already reached a conclusion. ’The unknown creature, and everything happening here... it’s probably all influenced by that God of Gendas.’

’The Vengeful Spirit incident in the Maya Kingdom wasn’t some bullshit Vengeful Spirit at all. It was probably just misidentified due to some similar traits.’

’The bastard who assigned this mission is a real son of a bitch.’

’If I had really plunged headfirst into the Maya Capital City, which is likely the Evil God’s lair, it wouldn’t just be me. Even Level 2 and Level 3 Wizard Apprentices would have been done for.’

’This is an Evil God incident! In the history of the Wizard World, they’ve caused massive turmoil, huge casualties, and have even wiped out entire Wizard Influences before.’

’This is way beyond my league. I have to report it to the Dark Land and let the big shots handle it.’

Taking a deep breath, Wang Ya discreetly took out the True Sight Ball. He covertly infused it with Particle Energy to collect the relevant information.

He had also figured it out. ’The unknown creature is probably related to this God of Gendas. I might as well call it Gundas’ Dog.’

He had never actually seen anything related to an Evil God before. To a Wizard, such things were incredibly rare finds.

Whether he studied it himself or traded it for resources, it would be priceless.

Fifteen seconds. He only needed fifteen seconds to complete the True Sight Ball’s recording.

”Mr. Arthur, would you be willing to believe in the great God of Gendas with me?”

It was a gentle female voice—Ras. She had completed the ”blessing” and, upon emerging from the tent, walked toward Wang Ya in the crowd.

After her blessing, she wore a serene smile, and her eyes were filled with tender affection as she gazed at Wang Ya. The crowd parted for her, letting her walk right up to him.

At that moment, Kenny, the royal family members, and the others who had been blessed all turned to look, their curiosity piqued.

Wang Ya looked at Ras with an indifferent gaze. The Shadow Slayer Blade appeared in his hand. He infused it with Particle Energy, and it instantly extended.

Without any warning... a flash of sharp steel!

PFFT!

The young woman’s head flew through the air, her expression still frozen in shock, as blood sprayed out like a fountain.
