**

With the addition of Wei Yang and his powerful group, Feng Zun Zhe and the elders of Falling Star Pavilion couldn’t hide their smiles. Having one Dou Sheng and a group of Dou Zun joining them all at once was no small matter.

In just one night, Falling Star Pavilion’s strength had skyrocketed—what was once a modest sect was now among the top-tier powers across the entire Central Plains.

That was without even counting the Medicine Saint himself. Just in terms of alchemists, they now had three new Tier 8 Alchemy Masters.

The two young Pavilion Masters were both Five-Colored Tier 8, while the young mistress, Xian’er, was Three-Colored Tier 8.

Such a lineup—aside from the Pill Tower—no other force in the Central Plains could match. Well, except perhaps the Yao Clan, but they didn’t count. These past few days had undoubtedly been the liveliest in Falling Star Pavilion’s history.

Aside from the thrilled and excited disciples, there were also three little troublemakers running around all day, turning the place upside down.

Especially the two younger ones—arriving in a brand-new place, their curiosity knew no bounds. They followed Zi Yan everywhere, exploring and wandering nonstop.

Although this strange space wasn’t as vast as the Pill Realm, it was still quite large, and the energy here was dense—it was truly a blessed land.

At the very least, it was far larger than the Wei Mansion they used to live in, and the environment was much better. Naturally, the two little ones were running wild, completely unrestrained.

Behind them, the expressionless Du Jiao followed dutifully, acting as their silent guardian. Wei Yang cared deeply for his children and would never make a rookie mistake like letting them roam unsupervised.

Even within Falling Star Pavilion, either Du Jiao or Xiong Zhan would always accompany them in turns, never letting them out of their sight.

Wei Yang would never gamble his children’s safety on the assumption that no spies from other forces had infiltrated the pavilion.

As it turned out, his caution was justified.

Every major faction inevitably had hidden spies or informants planted by rival powers. Even a sect with relatively few disciples, like Falling Star Pavilion, couldn’t completely avoid it.

Therefore, when Yao Chen and the others returned and announced the reopening of the sect gates—

It took only a few days before an explosive piece of news spread like wildfire, shaking the entire Central Plains. Yao Chen had returned to Falling Star Pavilion, assumed the position of Pavilion Master... and ascended to Dou Sheng!

Boom!

That news was like a massive bomb dropped into a calm lake, instantly igniting a storm across the continent.

At first, many refused to believe it.

Wasn’t it said just recently that Yao Chen had failed to break through to Dou Sheng?

How could this be?!

But once the matter was confirmed by multiple reliable sources, everyone had no choice but to accept this seemingly unbelievable fact. So, the entire Central Plains trembled in awe.

Everyone understood what it meant for a Dou Sheng to appear. That was a being of legendary caliber. It could be said that in the past few hundred if not thousand—years, Yao Chen was the first openly known Dou Sheng to emerge on the continent!

Such a figure—none of the major factions could claim to have one publicly. That fact alone was enough to propel Falling Star Pavilion’s prestige to new heights, making it the number-one power in the eyes of countless people.

Even more so—when this Dou Sheng was also the continent’s greatest alchemist, the impact of his rise was magnified a hundredfold. Thus, within less than ten days of reopening its gates, Falling Star Pavilion had become bustling beyond imagination.

Leaders of countless factions and numerous old-generation experts came in waves. Each day, the number of visitors paying their respects was endless.

Compared to the once-desolate days when few even knocked on their doors, the difference was like heaven and earth.

Meanwhile, the location of Falling Star Pavilion’s mountain gates was deliberately leaked by those with ulterior motives, making it no longer a secret.

Amid all this excitement, many old acquaintances of Yao Lao and Feng Zun Zhe those who once shared deep ties—hurried over with eager smiles to pay their respects.

Some wandering experts even directly joined Falling Star Pavilion, taking up positions as guest elders. Few offer help in times of hardship, but when fortune arrives, there’s never a shortage of people eager to add to the splendor.

Still, it was understandable—humans, after all, are creatures drawn to benefit and averse to risk.

Behind the main mountain of Falling Star Pavilion. Several simple and elegant courtyards stood nestled within the shade of a lush forest.

While the entire pavilion buzzed with excitement and activity, Wei Yang and his group chose not to get too involved. Instead, they stayed quietly in the serenity of the rear mountain.

At this moment, by a lotus pond, the three of them—master and disciples—sat cross-legged on the grass, leisurely sipping tea.

None of the three were fond of such social occasions to begin with. Besides, the visitors weren’t exactly important guests, so they simply left all that entertaining to Feng Zun Zhe.

”For a faction to develop, it must interact with the outside world. Being too closed off will only hinder growth. It’s something that can’t be avoided.” Yao Lao’s expression was kind as he spoke slowly. ”So even if we dislike it, we still have to receive them.”

Wei Yang and Xiao Yan both nodded lightly.

”Those kinds of matters are what that Old Feng is best at anyway. Let him handle it. I’m the same as you two—I’ve never been fond of such things. But after what happened last time, whether we like it or not, we’ll have to build a force strong enough to stand on its own.” Yao Lao smiled.

The two of them chuckled in agreement. Indeed, having a powerful force of their own was quite important.

After chatting casually for a while, Yao Lao asked, ”So, when are you two planning to leave?”

”In a couple of days,” Wei Yang replied.

He was planning to take Zi Yan to the Black-Corner Region to visit Zhu Kun.

Xiao Yan, meanwhile, intended to return to the Jia Ma Empire for a bit—so they decided to travel together. This time, only the three of them would be leaving, while Xian’er and the others would stay behind in Falling Star Pavilion.

”In a couple of days, huh? That’s fine too. Go early, return early,” Yao Lao nodded, not saying much else. After all, with Wei Yang and Xiao Yan’s strength, there was really nothing to worry about.

Night fell.

Inside the room, faint silver moonlight filtered through the cracks of the window, slicing the darkness into uneven patches.

On the bed, waves were rolling.

The sound of slightly hurried breathing echoed through the air. A faintly intimate atmosphere filled the room, making one’s heartbeat quicken with every breath. After a long while, the clouds dispersed and the rain ceased.

Wei Yang leaned lazily against the headboard, completely in a relaxed, satisfied state. Xian’er and Qing Lin lay curled in his arms, their faces flushed and eyes half-closed, radiating lazy contentment. Neither of them felt like moving.

By now, it wasn’t their first time. They were husband and wives, after all—there was no need for embarrassment between them.

After a good while, Xian’er finally caught her breath. Her jade-like fingers traced lazy circles on Wei Yang’s chest as she softly asked, ”This time... how long will you be gone?”

Beside her, Qing Lin also opened her half-closed eyes slightly.

Wei Yang’s palm slid gently along the smooth skin beneath it, his touch reluctant to leave. His eyes half-lidded, he pondered for a moment before replying, ”Probably two or three years.”

”So long?” Xian’er’s hand paused mid-movement, her brows furrowing as she said unhappily, ”We just settled down not long ago, and now you’re leaving again—and for that long too.”

Qing Lin pouted as well, mumbling, ”The children are still so little, and you’re never home.”

Wei Yang’s arm tightened around the two of them. He opened his mouth, then sighed softly and said apologetically, ”I’m sorry.”

Xian’er’s heart softened instantly. She huffed lightly and said, ”By the time you come back, the kids probably won’t even recognize you anymore. Let’s see how you deal with that.”

Qing Lin covered her mouth and giggled.

Wei Yang couldn’t help but laugh too. Knowing the storm had passed, he teased, ”Oh no, that won’t do. You two mothers better not let the kids forget who their father is.”

”You deserve it,” Xian’er said with a playful glare.

”She’s right,” Qing Lin chimed in.

Wei Yang grinned, then began to tickle them both. ”Oh? Rebelling, are we? Let’s see how you like this! Tickle, tickle!”

The two women burst into laughter, squirming and twisting to escape while pleading for mercy.
