Urban All-Round Master

It’s actually Su Ni! Lin Zifeng’s eyes practically fell out of their sockets. This is too much of a coincidence, isn’t it?

He quickly averted his gaze and didn’t look at her.

”How can this be such a coincidence? How could she appear here? No way, I probably can’t finish this meal. I need to get out of here quickly. Otherwise, trouble will keep coming.” Lin Zifeng thought silently, his eyes shifting. But Hua Yudie had taken Chuqing to a convenience store to get some beer. Who knows when they’ll be back. This left Lin Zifeng feeling at a loss.

Who knows what Su Ni is going to want from him soon.

”You guys go ahead and eat, I have some unresolved issues. I’ll be back later.”

Sure enough! Su Ni’s voice came from behind. It looked like she was heading towards his table. Lin Zifeng remained silent, pretending not to know Su Ni, and continued munching on his peanuts.

Just then, Su Ni walked by with her hands casually in her pockets. Without slowing or stopping, she lightly bumped Lin Zifeng’s back. She turned her head, her beautiful eyes shining slightly with a peculiar gleam. After giving him a domineering look, she walked towards a dark corner by the roadside.

Lin Zifeng naturally understood what Su Ni meant—she wanted to talk in the corner.

With Hua Yudie not back yet, it wouldn’t be good if they couldn’t find him later.

”Boss, when my friends come back, just tell them I went to the bathroom, okay?” Lin Zifeng stood up and threw a hundred-yuan bill to the boss, making the chubby man nod with glee.

Without money, nothing works. Lin Zifeng understood this. It’s just a hundred yuan...

”Isn’t this chick a bureau chief now? Why does she have to do everything herself?” Lin Zifeng shook his head helplessly. Following Su Ni’s path, he arrived at a dark, damp corner on the opposite side of the road. It was pitch black all around, with only a faint glimmer of light.

Su Ni stood in a corner not far from him, arms crossed, her proud, bright eyes flashing. Though she stood quietly in the corner, she seemed more formidable than ever before.

”What a coincidence, Director Su, I didn’t expect to run into you here. What a small world. Well? Haven’t seen me for a few days, did you miss me?” Lin Zifeng, as always, appeared carefree and charming, his face smiling as if he won the lottery every day.

”Yes, quite a coincidence indeed. I didn’t expect to see you here either.” Su Ni replied with a slight smile, giving a small nod.

”Alright, skip the pleasantries. You brought me to this dark corner because you have something to say, right? Go ahead, I’ve got to get back to my friends for dinner. Let’s finish this quickly.” Lin Zifeng spread his hands, reaching into his pocket for a cigarette, but found only an empty box.

”Looking for a smoke? I have some.” Understanding his gesture, Su Ni pulled out a pack of expensive Soft Yuxi cigarettes from her pocket and tossed it to Lin Zifeng.

”This isn’t a bad brand.” Su Ni said, expressionless.

”Damn! Soft Yuxi is definitely nice. If Soft Yuxi were bad, I wouldn’t even bother smoking. I don’t earn what you guys do. Don’t make me out to be more than I am.” Tearing open the pack, he put a cigarette in his mouth and grinned: ”Director Su, want one?”

”I don’t smoke,” Su Ni replied coldly.

”Okay then, I owe you. You’ve fed me and gave me a smoke, so what’s up? You brought me here for something, right?” Lin Zifeng asked.

”Since we met here, it’s fate. I need you to do me a favor,” Su Ni said.

”A favor? What kind of favor?” Lin Zifeng hesitated. Did she want him to catch that weirdo from India?

”Help me catch a strange person. You heard before, I mean that strange person from India. Can you help?” Su Ni wasn’t sure Lin Zifeng could help her, but that Indian weirdo definitely posed a threat. If this troublesome presence wasn’t dealt with promptly, it would not be beneficial for Zhonghai City.

”And what’s in it for me?” Lin Zifeng chuckled, ”Director Su, you must know, I’m not part of the police system. Isn’t it a bit outlandish to ask for my help? Frankly, I’d be meddling unnecessarily in others’ business.”

”Don’t you want to prevent harm to Zhonghai?”

”What does it have to do with me? Not my concern. Besides, it’s perfectly proper for the police to catch bad guys. It’s not my business.” Lin Zifeng shrugged. He wanted no part in this.

”Can’t you even do it as a favor for me?” Su Ni’s face flushed slightly, thinking: Usually, he involves himself in things without me asking, but now, when I need him, he bluntly refuses? Plus, this benefits the public, not a shady cause.

But Lin Zifeng saw things differently. He already had ties he couldn’t shake off with Su Ni. Helping her would just make their relationship even more complicated. So now, he aimed to avoid any association with Su Ni.

”Hey, Director Su, this really has nothing to do with me, okay? Besides, I’m not doing anything without benefits. I’m not a charity.”

”Lin Zifeng! Aren’t you the Death God? Don’t you like helping people? Why won’t you agree when I need a favor?” Su Ni’s round eyes widened in pretense of anger.

”Director Su, you have to understand, we don’t walk the same path. You know my background. It’s better if we keep our distance,” Lin Zifeng still showed no sign of agreeing.

”Fine! You won’t help me, huh? Alright then,” Su Ni said, not getting angry. She stepped forward to Lin Zifeng.

Suddenly, she grabbed his right hand.

”Hey! What are you doing?” Lin Zifeng frowned, shouting.

”Nothing much,” she said, her eyes glimmering slightly. Then she pressed Lin Zifeng’s right hand against her chest!

”Oh my god!” Lin Zifeng shivered with fear, quickly retracting his hand, but not before he gave a firm squeeze. So soft～

”Lin Zifeng! Now I accuse you of assaulting an officer! If you don’t cooperate with me, I’ll charge you with harassment. Let’s see how you explain that with even ten tongues!”

”Damn! Su Ni, you’re deliberately setting me up!” Lin Zifeng was dumbfounded. This method actually worked?

”All’s fair in strategy.” Su Ni sneered.

”Do you have to use such a dirty trick on me?”

”Yes, I do. What are you gonna do? Bite me?” Su Ni replied cheerfully.
