Urban All-Round Master

”Damn it! Don’t panic, don’t lose formation!”

Shao Huo was already aware that the Green Gang members had arrived, and their Ability Users might attack.

So, at this moment, it was a major challenge for him. His body was injured again. The injury to his tendons remained unstable.

”Da da da... Da da da... Da da da...”

Bullets whistled back and forth through the crowd, striking people down from time to time. Gradually, the three thousand members of the South Heavenly Gate were beaten into a panicked retreat.

The sound of shrill screams kept coming.

”Brothers, charge with me!!!”

Shao Huo knew if this continued, the South Heavenly Gate would eventually be defeated. He pulled out a handgun and fired several shots into the reed forest.

”Pa pa pa!”

Then, the South Heavenly Gate followers started to regain their composure, every one of them pulling out guns to shoot into the wild reed fields. Because these were deserted suburban reed fields, machine guns couldn’t be used recklessly to prevent hitting their own men. Generally, large-scale fights only involved knives...

”Da da da... Da da da... Da da da...”

Whiz whiz whiz... Whiz whiz whiz... Whiz whiz whiz... Bullets darted back and forth among the reeds with no defense against them.

”Pa!”

”Ugh!”

Shao Huo fired and hit a Green Gang assault gunner, piercing his chest, causing a gush of blood to spray as he fell back.

”Set fire! Burn all the reeds to the ground!”

Shao Huo shouted hoarsely, knowing that if this continued, they’d undoubtedly be disrupted by the Green Gang. The people hiding in the reed forest weren’t many, just a few dozen, yet they had thrown thousands of South Heavenly Gate into chaos.

”Crackle...”

A flame was immediately lit among the reeds. As the fire intensified, the killers hiding in the deserted grove were soon engulfed by flames, wailing loudly.

This was the barren woodland in the South District of Zhonghai City, surrounded by desolate reeds and small forests, with a major road running through the small forest—the fastest route from the East District to the South District.

However—the open road and the Green Gang members chose not to take it. Instead, they flanked along the sides of the road, putting Shao Huo in a highly passive position.

He assumed that the alliance between the Green Gang and Hongmen would definitely choose the main road, preparing to intercept them midway. As long as they stayed within bounds, he could stop them.

But he was wrong.

Green Gang’s leader Qiao Zhengfeng had already stationed assassins along the sides of the open road in the deserted reed and forest areas, ready to turn the South Heavenly Gate people into mincemeat with their assault guns as soon as they appeared.

”Kill! Kill!!!”

”Kill kill kill!!!”

The reed forests on both sides of the road were increasingly consumed by fire, lighting up the dark sky as bright as day.

While Shao Huo’s side was still in disarray, the far end of the road was a scene of fierce battle. Seven or eight large SUV jeeps roared lowly, crashing madly to this side.

And on each jeep mounted were machine guns, with bullets almost sweeping across the area repeatedly as the cars moved. Flames danced, blood filled the air.

The shrill wails continued to rise.

The three thousand members of the South Heavenly Gate were slaughtered by hundreds! And five or six hundred more were trampled to death or injured by their own people.

A vast, overwhelming crowd was now in chaos.

The sheer numbers were of no use.

Watching the scene before him, Shao Huo started to regret it. He recalled a story Lin Zifeng once told him.

When Liu Bang’s six hundred thousand troops faced Shu Yu’s thirty thousand, Liu Bang lost, and his six hundred thousand troops were ruined by their own people.

In such numbers, if chaos erupted, having more people not only was ineffective but became the greatest hindrance.

And now, the opposition was using only a few hundred people, a handful of beaten-up vehicles, to rout Shao Huo’s three thousand plus men!

There’s no room for resistance...

The morale of the Nan Tian Gate in Zhonghai City had long been shaken; none expected Lin Zifeng would return. Now, faced with such shelling and frenzied combat, who would truly risk their lives?

No wonder Lin Zifeng usually deployed only one or two departments of the Shadow Group for missions; the more people, the fewer the benefits, in fact becoming a burden...

”South Heavenly Gate brothers! Whoever doesn’t want to be a coward, come back!!! Stand with me against the enemies!”

Shao Huo stood among the reeds, shouting continuously, blood on his face, unsure if it was his own or the enemy’s. At any rate, he had already lost.

He lost miserably and now wanted to snatch victory from defeat. That was to drive the Green Gang dogs away; else, with so many losses, the account would leave a notable mark on the South Heavenly Gate.

Even if Lin Zifeng and Zhang Mengjie didn’t pursue it, he’d feel ashamed...

”Clang!”

Shao Huo led several people, charging through the reeds. When an SUV passed by them, Shao Huo leapt out from the burning reeds, pouncing on the jeep, a dagger thrust savagely through the car window.

”Puff~” The car window was pierced by the steel blade, and a woman in black in the passenger seat pointed a dark gun barrel at his head, pulling the trigger with a bang.

Clang~

Shao Huo’s quick reflexes sent him flipping to the back of the jeep, cold sweat pouring from his forehead, but unable to remain there, for the woman in the passenger seat would fire at the car wildly, injuring him even if not killing him.

”Clang!” The War Blade struck the right window of the vehicle. The woman swiftly pointed the dark gun at the right window. As she shifted targets, Shao Huo appeared from the left window near the front, the closest spot to her.

”You!”

The woman sensed the cold wind behind her, shrank her neck, and turned. A chilling blade sliced across her neck!

Then! Shao Huo grabbed her hair, pressing her head down against his chest, pulling the War Blade with his right hand, which made a brutal slice across her throat.

Blood nearly sprayed across the window. The driver in the front seat was also slain under Shao Huo’s blade~

”Clang clang clang...”

”Da da da... Da da da... Da da da...”

At that moment, Cang Cun and Hua Tiandu rapidly arrived, along with the Twelve Warhawks joining the fray, dozens of assault guns firing wildly at the Green Gang jeeps.

However—Shao Huo had just emerged from the jeep, when several bullets whizzed past his ear with a clang. He sat back inside the car, unable to risk going outside.

”Damn it! What the hell— can’t even recognize your own?”
