Chapter 1648: Chapter 1682: Blacklisting Huayu Group

Three days might not seem long, but soon enough a call came from Hai Zhilan, promising good news for Lin Zifeng three days later...

Lin Zifeng wasn’t in a hurry, sitting in his office, feeling a bit awkward with the woman in front of him after hanging up the phone.

”Young Lin, what’s the good news that’s making you so happy?” Zhang Xixi sat properly across from Lin Zifeng, holding a thick stack of documents, which included the latest integrations from Huayu Group and comprehensive information about the new production ’The Gold-Squandering Era.’

”Haha, I wouldn’t exactly call it good news, but it’s certainly useful for me,” Lin Zifeng chuckled. These days, Black Hawk and the others have been rapidly improving their skills.

Huo Zhengfeng is getting closer to becoming a King, and Lin Zifeng has instructed them not to be too busy lately but to focus solely on breaking through the Realm. However, the Cultivation of Hidden Kill, Ming Zhan, and Shadow Group is still far too shallow. Lin Zifeng can’t possibly use the Magic Bracelet for each of them individually in their Cultivation.

So, Lin Zifeng’s main focus and goal are set on the Hai Family...

Zhang Xixi gave a knowing smile; she wasn’t one to meddle in others’ affairs. Naturally, she knew Lin Zifeng was working on big projects, so she preferred to play the role of the woman behind a powerful man...

”Young Lin, the new film is nearing completion, we’re just waiting for the company’s promotional activities now. However, we’ve encountered some minor setbacks in the promotion.”

Zhang Xixi handed him a stack of documents with some scribbles on them. Lin Zifeng didn’t look closely; he briefly skimmed through them.

”What setbacks?” Lin Zifeng asked.

”Recently, we planned to promote our new film’s trailer on multiple online platforms, but several major platforms rejected the promotion, and the broadcast bureau banned it. What’s more infuriating is that several partners in previous film collaborations have started to terminate agreements. Many resource providers have also paused their promotional efforts for us.”

Zhang Xixi reported everything one by one.

In just three days, so many things happened, which was an unforeseen consequence for Lin Zifeng...

”How did this happen? Didn’t they give the best response?” Lin Zifeng asked with a frown.

”The broadcast bureau responded that ’The Gold-Squandering Era’ has distorted values and is not beneficial for screening. Furthermore, major online platforms like Tengshun, Wanda, Xinlang, and Souhu all said the film cannot be screened, and many film partners questioned our new film significantly.”

”Don’t they know the effect and box office of our previous film?” Lin Zifeng was puzzled. After such long preparations, everything was suddenly knocked back to square one, which no one expected.

This kind of dreadful consequence is undoubtedly an enormous invisible blow to Huayu Group! If this event is publicized, it will certainly be a blow to all Huayu Group employees.

For the sake of the new film, so many people have been giving their all. Especially in post-production, working overtime without caring for their lives.

Lin Zifeng issued the highest order, demanding it be completed in the shortest time possible. So over at Zhang Mengjie’s side, everyone is practically exhausted like dogs.

Now it’s suddenly become like this, everyone’s heart is chilled...

”Young Lin, forgive me for speaking frankly, but through this incident of Huayu Group’s new film being banned, I feel this is a commercial competition-driven malicious ban, likely related to those powerful Families.”

”How do you know?” Lin Zifeng raised his eyebrows twice.

”In today’s internet era, the most lucrative industries are ’gaming, music, film, and reading.’ Among them, film industry undoubtedly rakes in the most, not only putting IT stars in the spotlight but boosting their fame, and nurturing ten stars, if even one becomes famous, it undoubtedly becomes a gold mine for a group. While the gaming industry has its pros and cons.

Now, as long as the promotion is done well, even randomly pulling in one or two A-list, B-list stars can earn billions at the box office,” Zhang Xixi explained her perspective.

However, Lin Zifeng was stubborn. Since those platforms didn’t support his film and are playing along to ruin him, why should Huayu Group still cooperate with them?

Might as well create a big platform like TENG~XUN, incorporating film, news, images, NBA... a comprehensive platform...

Unfortunately, Huayu Group’s current achievements are nowhere near that level, and Lin Zifeng is aware of this.

”In Yanjing, all film groups, half of them are dominated by the three major Family titans. Xixi, what do you think we should do now?” Lin Zifeng thought for a moment, realizing he couldn’t just rely on his own ideas; he needed to accept Zhang Xixi’s suggestions.

The reason he developed to this extent is, firstly, he’s bold enough to trust his people with tasks, and secondly, he’s humble enough to listen to others when he doesn’t understand something.

”I—I don’t dare to speak hastily,” Zhang Xixi blushed, feeling a bit embarrassed. She had some thoughts but wasn’t adept at expressing them, preferring to prove herself through actions.

”Alright then, I’ll leave this to you. I hope you won’t let me down, okay?” Lin Zifeng stood up and gently patted her shoulder, causing Zhang Xixi’s body to tremble slightly.

Soon after, Zhang Xixi, feeling bashful, hastily ran out with a pile of documents...

Meanwhile, Lin Zifeng sat alone in the office, his mind filled with thoughts of those Family groups. The three major families in Yanjing are deeply rooted and possess numerous groups, with formidable film groups.

The Shangguan Family is particularly renowned for producing Hollywood blockbusters, collaborating with Hollywood to introduce them as the first distributor.

Playing in the film industry is no longer what it used to be. Now, whenever a blockbuster is about to come out, all major powers vie to be the first distributor. Whoever secures the first spot, regardless of the cost, can earn it back.

Yet, Huayu Group is just a newly established entertainment group, far from being able to compete with those Family groups...

After a leisurely and lazy day at the company, a call from Hai Zhilan came in the evening.

He said that tonight, at the xxx International-Star Hotel, his brother Hai Wuyan’s birthday party would be held there.

This grand banquet, how could Lin Zifeng afford to miss it?

In the evening... the autumn wind gently blew as Hai Zhilan’s sports car waited at the usual spot where he often met Lin Zifeng, the entrance of a café. After chain-smoking a pack of cigarettes, Lin Zifeng finally appeared at the café’s door.

Hai Zhilan invited him to bolster the event, to put it plainly, Lin Zifeng went for another sophisticated face-slapping mission.

”Oh damn! Brother Lin, you finally came. I’ve been waiting here for over an hour!” Hai Zhilan harshly crushed the cigarette on the ground.

”The thing I asked you about that day, now can you tell me?” Lin Zifeng walked up with a smile.

”Pure Yang Pill. Yang Lotus Herb. These two items have the ability to refine and transform a Cultivator’s physique, enhancing Cultivation,”

Hai Zhilan didn’t hold back, he spilled it directly.
