Capítulo 1552: Chapter 1586: Poor Liu Tangtang

Blood dripped onto Lin Zifeng’s lips, and he instinctively licked it with his tongue, craving the liquid greedily.

In the end, Lin Zifeng subconsciously latched onto Tangtang’s bleeding wrist, sucking frantically, for when a person is severely dehydrated, they hunger for liquid.

Yet his thirst for liquid made Tangtang’s face grow paler.

Tangtang bit her teeth with difficulty but was unwilling to let go, enduring the pain of her blood being drawn from her body…

Only when the blood dripping from her wrist could no longer supply Lin Zifeng did she reluctantly let go of Tangtang’s wrist.

At this moment, Tangtang’s face was as white as snow, and her wrist was deadly pale, without a trace of moisture. Her wrist was numb and completely stiff.

“Uncle, Tangtang will definitely get you out of here safely! You must believe in Tangtang.”

After releasing her hand, Tangtang’s lips were severely cracked from being submerged in seawater for too long, leading to extreme dehydration. Coupled with the scorching sun, a wave of dizziness made Tangtang’s frail little body almost unable to support itself.

“Uncle~ Tangtang feels so uncomfortable.” Finally, due to severe dehydration, Tangtang felt heavy-headed, and collapsed to the ground, yearning to sleep. But seeing her uncle unconscious, with life signs rapidly fading, determined Tangtang gritted her teeth and struggled to get up from the ground.

Seeing some plants on the shore, she grabbed a handful of grass and stuffed it into her mouth to prevent dehydration.

Although this sea plant was very bitter, in order to survive and keep Uncle alive, Tangtang chewed it to dryness with tears in her eyes, her little eyebrows furrowing together as she swallowed the water extracted from the plants… All of this to survive, to keep on living. After laboriously chewing the plants for their moisture, a hint of hydration finally returned to Tangtang’s pale face.

Then she tirelessly dismantled the raft, transforming it into a makeshift contraption to drag someone, placing Lin Zifeng onto it, and began walking step by step towards the endless rocky coastline…

……

“Ah!” Nangong Bing in Zhonghai City suddenly woke up in shock from the bed.

Her soft body was drenched in cold sweat, calming her heavy breaths only after realizing it was just a nightmare.

“It was just a dream.” Nangong Bing muttered fearfully as she got out of bed, having witnessed Lin Zifeng being killed in her dream! And Lin Zifeng had desperately called Nangong Bing and their child’s names before he died; at that moment, Nangong Bing felt the whole sky darken, sensing that living in this world was a guilt-ridden experience…

After going downstairs, she poured a cup of hot water, but her hand trembled as she reached for the cup, evident that she hadn’t fully recovered from the nightmare.

Yet as she reached again for the cup, she accidentally knocked it over in her daze, spilling water across the table, which startled Nangong Bing. She sensed something was amiss, feeling as though something was bound to happen.

“Hmm?! What’s going on? It’s just a nightmare, why can’t I calm down?” Nangong Bing muttered to herself.

Reminiscing on the nightmare, though it seemed she couldn’t quite recall. The dream was obscure yet incredibly real.

Usually, one remembers a nightmare clearly but forgets it quickly afterward…

Thinking of this, Nangong Bing swiftly turned her eyes, then took out her phone intending to call Lin Zifeng. But after dialing, nobody answered, leaving Nangong Bing a bit worried.

These days, since Lin Zifeng left, there had been no news from him. As his wife, she hadn’t heard from her husband, and it had been several tense days…

“Could it be… he’s really… No! Impossible! I believe in his good fortune.” Her eyes turned steely once more.

Then she went into the room, picked up the phone again to call Huayu Group to inquire about Lin Zifeng’s whereabouts, but she hesitated, maybe she was just overly worried lately.

Thus, she could only sit in the room, gently stroking her belly, hoping that her child would grow up safe and sound…

…

On the other side, where it’s night and day reversed from Zhonghai City. While it’s deep night in Zhonghai, here it’s daylight, the sun fierce and blazing, almost piercingly bright.

“Uncle, hang in there, as long as we get out of this area we’ll survive!”

For a full three hours of dragging, they found a water source and entered a forest. Tangtang’s hands and feet were covered with blisters, which burst from friction, her hands repeatedly pulling the raft, blood streaming down her arms, yet she showed no sign of letting go; now it seemed difficult to let go, the long grip had stiffened her hands, cutting off blood circulation.

Once having gained access to ample water, Lin Zifeng’s pale face showed signs of moisture.

Yet Tangtang looked as messy as a little stray cat. In the end, exhaustion triumphed over her willpower, and she collapsed to the ground, unable to rise again.

Her eyelids felt heavy as mountains, her legs swollen, hands bleeding profusely. Her frail, tender body was lacerated by branches and weeds, leaving her bloody all over.

“Uncle… Tangtang is so tired. Tangtang can’t even open her eyes. I’ll, I’ll just rest a bit, I really just need a little rest, then I’ll keep dragging you… get us out of here…”

Saying this, Tangtang finally succumbed to fatigue and dropped down.

…Time flies by again.

Several hours whisked away. By nightfall. The woods were alive with birds and beasts.

Just as Tangtang and Lin Zifeng had fallen asleep.

Suddenly, from afar came the sound of howling wolves, jarring Tangtang awake, prompting her to jump up from the grass, grabbing Lin Zifeng’s makeshift raft, and fleeing further into the forest.

“Waaa… Uncle, there are wolves! Wolves! Uncle, Tangtang is so scared, Tangtang is really scared! Uncle…”

“Awooo awooo…” The wolf howls echoed continuously, filling the whole forest, terrifying Tangtang, who didn’t know what to do but frantically dragging Lin Zifeng to flee, a pitiful sight.

Poor naive Liu Tangtang, not only did she have to protect her uncle, but also evade the wolves.

The entire night, she was on the run, several times nearly surrounded by wolf packs.

Until the dawn light rose once more, poor Tangtang had turned into a little savage. Her hair disheveled, face blackened, her clothes all torn to shreds.

Placing Lin Zifeng under a quiet big tree, she collapsed in a corner of the tree, a pitiful figure…

Waking up chilled several times, she still mumbled Lin Zifeng’s name in her sleep…
