Chapter 1507: Chapter 1541: Do Secret Agents Not Even Have Money for a Hotel Room? Are They Super Poor?

“Why are you here?” Lin Zifeng glared at her, staring intently. He clearly remembered leaving Saint Anna outside the room, so how did she end up in the bathroom? Could this room have a back door?

“Can you leave?”

Saint Anna curled up, looking at him.

“Give me a reason to calm myself down.” Lin Zifeng’s expression turned cold.

He had only known Saint Anna for less than a day. Naturally, he was on guard against her.

Moreover, the way Saint Anna acted in front of him was so casual. This was something Lin Zifeng didn’t like.

Do all Americans really like to be so casual? Casual enough to run into someone else’s bathroom, take a shower, and then leave as if nothing happened?

“I just wanted to take a shower,” Saint Anna explained. “I waited for you all day in the wilderness. Would you really mind a beautiful woman taking a shower in your room?”

“Yes, I mind. I mind very much. You entered my room without my consent. If I were my old self, I could easily kill you and dispose of the body, just like that,” Lin Zifeng said abruptly.

He wasn’t joking. In his current mood, the things he might do could even scare himself.

“…” Saint Anna was too scared to speak. From the depths of the man’s eyes, she didn’t doubt his words for a minute. When she first met Lin Zifeng, she didn’t feel anything in particular.

But now, those eyes seemed to see through her heart. She finally understood why the Federation Bureau described him as an extremely terrifying man. It seemed true…

After speaking, Lin Zifeng quickly withdrew his gaze and left the bathroom without delay.

For Saint Anna, the shock the man gave her was like a tidal wave, prompting her to quickly wrap a towel around herself.

She had picked the lock without his consent. Given the size of the room, Lin Zifeng was in the master bedroom and didn’t notice her. As a spy, picking a lock was easy.

“If you leave here now, I won’t pursue this matter.” He backed out of the bathroom, casting a casual glance in the direction of the bathroom.

“But I have no place to sleep.” At this, Saint Anna, wrapped in a towel with bare feet, came up to Lin Zifeng and said.

“Can’t you just rent another room? With your conditions, men willing to rent you a room could probably line up from Los Angeles to Washington,” Lin Zifeng said.

“I didn’t bring any ID for renting a room.”

“…”

Lin Zifeng nearly choked on a mouthful of water.

“I’m telling the truth, I didn’t bring any ID for renting a room.”

Saint Anna said with a serious face.

“I mean, can’t you at least draft your lies in advance?”

“Don’t you believe me?”

“Sorry, I don’t want to talk to you. Please leave now.” Lin Zifeng felt his patience had reached its peak; if she pushed any further, he’d seriously doubt his ability to control his temper.

“I didn’t bring any money either,” Saint Anna added.

Yet, judging by her expression, she didn’t seem to be lying. It was as if she were a vagrant.

“Get out.” Lin Zifeng had no patience to continue her nonsense.

A spy who can afford a sports car but claims she didn’t bring money? Staying in a room without ID is one thing, but not bringing money as well? Is this a spy or a pauper!

“As a qualified agent, you wouldn’t carry any documents that could potentially expose your identity. Nor would you carry scented cash or credit cards that could be traced.”

“Has anyone told you that entering someone’s room without permission is not allowed?” Lin Zifeng looked at her calmly but inadvertently glanced at her snow-white skin, still wet from the bath, adding a touch of allure.

However, he was in no mood to consider these things now.

“We are partners; coming in for a shower and staying over shouldn’t be a big deal, right?” Saint Anna continued to argue. “Besides, given the Death God’s identity, would he really fuss about this?”

“If you don’t leave, don’t doubt that I’ll use force to roll you out of here…” To make his point, Lin Zifeng gestured from the room to the door.

“I…”

“Out!”

……

“Hey, hey, hey! Are you really so heartless to kick me out?”

“Bang!” The door slammed shut, and he mercilessly ‘sent’ Saint Anna out of the room.

“I’ll say it one last time: if you can help me, I would be grateful. If you think of playing tricks on me, sorry, you’ve met someone who could cost you your life.”

After saying that, Lin Zifeng locked the door and coldly walked away.

“Hey! Even if you kick me out, can you at least give me my clothes? I haven’t dressed yet!”

Saint Anna continued knocking on the door.

After a while, the door opened. Saint Anna was delighted, thinking he had changed his mind.

“I’m leaving early in the morning, so I don’t want to be disturbed tonight.” With that, Lin Zifeng closed the door on Saint Anna once more.

If Lin Zifeng had known Saint Anna was this kind of person, he would have flown to Miami long ago. Who knew he’d waste a day in Los Angeles…

“Damn! Damn! How can you treat a beautiful woman like this? Do you have no sense of gentlemanly behavior?”

Saint Anna cursed outside.

Soon, three tall, hefty white men emerged from either side of the hallway.

Their attire was casual; the oldest was in his forties, and the youngest was in his twenties.

“Honey, did you really just get shut out like that? Why not come sleep in our room tonight?”

The speaker was a middle-aged white man.

“Mark, are you here to laugh at me?”

Saint Anna shot him an angry look, then glanced at the others: “John, Smith, didn’t I tell you not to appear so quickly? Do you want to be discovered by that tasteless guy inside?”

“Tsk tsk tsk ~ My lovely Saint Anna, if we don’t come out like gentlemen now, you might really end up sleeping on the streets tonight. Even if you’re willing, our hearts can’t take it,” said the middle-aged man, Mark.

“Yeah, he may not understand style, but we sure do,” the youngest, John, chimed in.
