Chapter 698: Chapter 691: Lord Hua Got Your Back

Chapter 691 Huahua Has Got You Covered

”You’re the one who said that, you know.”

Huahua gave a sly smile and fluttered her eyelashes at Liu Tangtang.

Clang! An entire box of beer slammed onto the table, startling Lin Zifeng.

With such a display, was it still possible to enjoy themselves delectably?

”How about we play a game?” Hua Buqi suggested with a smile.

”What kind of game?”

Zhao Xiaoshi understood that the two of them definitely had a problem with her; they were giving her a hard time.

”Let’s see who can drink more and faster. Are you up for it?”

”Ready whenever.”

Seeing her opponent’s proud demeanor, Zhao Xiaoshi was anything but weak; instead, she was brimming with fighting spirit, patting her tiny chest with an air of utter confidence.

As the two squared off, Liu Tangtang by their side rolled her round eyes, uncertain of what to say at this juncture, and instead cast an expectant look toward Lin Zifeng, who was resting on the couch.

Nangong Bing and Zhao Xuemo had gone to the restroom, and the showdown unfolded without an audience.

”Uncle, aren’t you going to help Hua?”

Liu Tangtang, wiggling her little hips, plopped down beside Lin Zifeng, her plump lips pouting as if she was full of anticipation.

”What can I help with?” Lin Zifeng shrugged his shoulders, a mix of amusement and resignation on his face.

”Uncle, just tell me, what exactly is your relationship with that elf? Even if you kill me, I won’t believe you’re her brother-in-law.”

”Uh, I never said I was her brother-in-law!” Lin Zifeng shook his head helplessly, bitterness spreading across his face.

Some things had to be clarified to avoid future trouble.

”Then why does she keep calling you brother-in-law? And she does it so affectionately, um...”

Her whining, along with that delicate voice, made Lin Zifeng’s skin crawl.

”Actually, it’s... it’s just a little game we’re playing. You could call me brother-in-law too, heh heh.”

”Liar! Do you really think I’m a three-year-old? Who would play such a boring game?”

Even though Lin Zifeng knew this absurd excuse wouldn’t fool her, he wasn’t in a position to reveal the truth, especially since he promised Zhao Xuemo to keep their promise.

Meanwhile, Huahua and Zhao Xiaoshi had already started their drinking contest.

Guzzling one cup after another, their enthusiasm for the competition was no less than any man’s.

Lin Zifeng and Liu Tangtang watched, gobsmacked.

”Dare to chug with a big bowl?”

By then, Zhao Xiaoshi had gotten into it and boldly asked for a bigger bowl, her spirits high.

Although Huahua could handle her liquor to some extent, she was mostly hoping that Tangtang would help her, but after three bottles of beer, she began to regret it.

She deeply regretted it.

The elf in front of her wasn’t just drinking—she was practically chugging it like water.

With several bottles down, she could already feel her stomach churning as if she was drinking medicine instead of alcohol!

”Huahua, can you keep going?”

Liu Tangtang quickly came forward to support her slender waist.

”I can! Who says I can’t! I refuse to believe I can’t drink more than that elf!”

Pfft! Brat, you think you can out-drink me? I grew up in a distillery; I refuse to believe you can win against me.

Zhao Xiaoshi didn’t say as much, but her face was flushed, her eyes hazy and heavy, as if she might collapse at any moment given a couple more drinks.

This pretense of being a seasoned drinker was precisely what made the young woman uncomfortable.

Hugging Liu Tangtang’s slender waist, he brought his cherry lips close to her face and said, ”Tangtang, Huahua can’t outdrink her anymore. Could you help me out and take over for me?”

”Ah!!! Huahua, little me isn’t that great at drinking!”

Liu Tangtang’s complexion slightly changed, her pretty brows twisted upwards a bit. She had seldom touched alcohol since she was young. The last time she went drinking with Lin Zifeng at a food stall, she only sipped a little bit. The way those two had been competing just now was definitely not something a rookie drinker like her could handle.

”No worries, relax. She’s just a paper tiger now—haven’t you noticed that her eyes are already blurry?”

”They’re not blurry! She looks pretty sober to me.”

Liu Tangtang shook her head vigorously, indicating that she didn’t understand what she meant.

In fact, it wasn’t Zhao Xiaoshi whose eyes were blurry, but Hua Buqi’s face that was already a blushing red.

Even when looking at people, she saw double images.

”Trust me, Tangtang, I believe in you.”

Under the girl’s encouragement, Liu Tangtang blinked her small eyes. Despite her innocent appearance, she puffed out her full and shapely chest and summoned the courage to shout, ”I’m afraid that Huahua might drink you under the table, so I’ll step in instead.”

”That’s fine, go ahead, even if the two of you come at me together.”

Zhao Xiaoshi swung her slender, snow-white legs beneath her hot pants, indifferent to which of them—either one—stepped up.

After all, their combined efforts wouldn’t be enough to match her drinking.

”Tangtang, believe in yourself. You can do it, Huahua’s got your back!”

”Mm-hmm, Tangtang will definitely make Huahua proud!”

Clang.

Another case of beer was slammed down onto the crystal table.

This time, they skipped using cups.

Each grabbed a bottle of beer and started chugging directly from it.

Seeing this, not only did Huahua’s mouth form an ’o’ shape.

Even Lin Zifeng had to admire their capacity for alcohol.

Despite Liu Tangtang’s seemingly fragile exterior.

The ability she demonstrated in drinking was something Huahua couldn’t hope to match.

One bottle, two bottles, three bottles...

Gradually, more and more empty beer bottles accumulated on the table, and it was then that Zhao Xiaoshi realized the real expert was Liu Tangtang!

The seemingly unremarkable cute girl continued until a whole case of beer was finished, and only then did both of them feel the world spinning.

In the meantime, Huahua, trying to prevent Liu Tangtang from getting drunk, also joined in the drinking fervor. Now all three of them were tipsy and bleary-eyed...

It wasn’t until Nangong Bing and Zhao Xue Mo returned that they were surprised to find three little drunken kittens sprawled out on the couch.

”What happened here?”

Nangong Bing’s elegant brows twisted slightly as her gaze swept over to Lin Zifeng in the corner of the sofa, who was happily munching on grilled fish strips, as if everything that had happened in the box had nothing to do with him.

”It seems they hit it off, talking about becoming sworn sisters, and got carried away to this state,” said Lin Zifeng seriously.

”Really?”

Nangong Bing didn’t quite believe what he was saying.

”If you don’t believe me, there’s nothing I can do,” Lin Zifeng said with an utterly calm expression.

”That, President, I’m sorry, my cousin has really made a spectacle of herself today.”

Zhao Xue Mo was smart; she already knew the little scheme Zhao Xiaoshi had in her mind.

Now that she had gotten drunk, Zhao Xue Mo simply helped the man out by playing along.
