Everyone in the Group is a Main Character, Except Me Who's the Villain

214: Chapter 214 Fang Ming, Long Time No SeeJinjiang Courtyard, second-floor bedroom.

Fang Ming tossed his phone onto the bed and watched the screen gradually dim, letting out a soft sigh.

”This time, it’s a complete falling out.”

Although he had long anticipated this day, he still felt some emotion now that it had truly arrived.

There was no deep-seated hatred between him and Qin Xiao; if it weren’t absolutely necessary, he didn’t want to stand in opposition to him. However, based on his understanding of Qin Xiao, the request to bring Ye Nuannuan to the bar was clearly part of some deal made with the Lu family.

Ye Nuannuan was now both his group member and his girlfriend; naturally, he would not agree.

Continue to play along with false pretenses? With his current capabilities, there was no longer any need for that.

”What’s wrong?”

Seeing Fang Ming’s unpleasant expression after hanging up the phone, Ye Nuannuan asked curiously.

Fang Ming snapped out of it: ”It’s nothing. An old friend wanted to invite me out for a drink, and I turned him down.”

”Your friend? Do I know them?”

”You don’t.” Fang Ming smiled. ”They’re not anyone important, don’t worry about it.”

“Uh... then you get some rest, I’m going to take a shower.”

”I happen to need a shower too, let’s go together!!”

”Ah???” Hearing Fang Ming’s words, Ye Nuannuan looked shocked. Before she could react, she was already swept up into his arms.

A moment later.

The sound of splashing water mixed with heavy breathing drifted throughout the bathroom.

Ye Nuannuan had no other relatives in this world; Fang Ming was now her only family.

Whether it was an issue with her personal attributes as a tragic novel’s female lead or not, ever since she followed Fang Ming, she had been completely obedient to him.

Even knowing that Fang Ming had other women, she had no complaints. She had even taken the initiative to suggest bringing Chen Qian over to live together during their travels.

If Fang Ming hadn’t corrected her in time, she probably would have been capable of doing things even more devoid of dignity.

...

The night passed in silence.

The next morning, sunlight squeezed through the gaps in the curtains, falling on the foot of the bed.

Fang Ming opened his eyes to find his arms full of softness. Ye Nuannuan was curled up in the crook of his arm, sleeping soundly with steady breathing, her eyelashes fluttering occasionally.

He looked at the phone on the nightstand; it was seven-fifty.

Gently sliding his arm out, he got out of bed and went to the bathroom to wash up.

By the time he came out, Ye Nuannuan was awake, sitting on the bed in a daze. Her hair was messy, and the collar of her pajamas had slipped down, revealing faint red marks on her collarbone.

”Awake?”

”Mm...” She rubbed her eyes, her voice still carrying the raspiness of someone who had just woken up. ”What time is it?”

”Almost eight, time to get up.”

Ye Nuannuan nodded and slowly got out of bed, shuffling to the bathroom in her slippers.

Twenty minutes later, the two went downstairs.

Aunt Zhang had already prepared breakfast: millet porridge, fried eggs, a few side dishes, and warmed milk.

Ye Nuannuan sat down, took a sip of porridge, and looked up at Fang Ming.

”Are you taking me to work today?”

”Yes.” Fang Ming picked up a piece of pickled vegetable with his chopsticks. ”It’s on my way.”

”What about tonight?”

”I’ll pick you up tonight as well.”

”This...” Ye Nuannuan was stunned for a moment. ”That shouldn’t be necessary. I can just take a taxi after work...”

”Things have been unstable lately,” Fang Ming interrupted her. ”I’ll feel more at ease if I pick you up.”

Ye Nuannuan looked at him, her heart feeling warm, and nodded. ”Okay.”

Fang Ming asked again, ”By the way, find some time recently to get your driver’s license. I’ll buy you a car later; it’ll be more convenient for commuting.”

”Mm!”

Ye Nuannuan opened her mouth as if to say something, but ultimately just nodded.

After finishing breakfast, Fang Ming drove her to the entrance of Yunlan International. Ye Nuannuan unbuckled her seatbelt, leaned over, and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

”Be careful on the road.”

”Go on.”

Ye Nuannuan pushed the door open and got out, walking toward the company entrance. She looked back at him once she reached the door and waved.

Fang Ming took a deep breath. Just as he was about to start the car, his phone vibrated.

It was a WeChat message from Qiao Xingyue.

[Qiao Xingyue]: ”Are you free today? Want to have lunch together?”

Fang Ming raised an eyebrow.

[Ming]: ”I’m free, you pick the place.”

[Qiao Xingyue]: ”Near that cafe from last time, there’s a newly opened Cantonese restaurant that seems pretty good.”

[Ming]: ”Fine, I’ll be there at exactly twelve o’clock.”

After replying, Fang Ming put his phone down. He first drove to the bank to remove the limit on his bank card, then went to the brokerage firm. He used all of his and Chu Yao’s money, along with the fifty million given by Nangong Ling, to buy shares of Deep Blue Technology.

According to the intelligence from Zhou Yuan, ten o’clock this morning would be the lowest point for this stock; buying at this time was just right.

By the time he finished all this, it was nearly eleven o’clock. Fang Ming drove home.

”This Qin Xiao is a reborn soul after all, why haven’t I seen him play the stock market? Could it be that in his past life, he never paid any attention to it?”

Fang Ming muttered to himself, not bothering to investigate further. After all, he no longer had anything to do with Qin Xiao.

Turning the car onto the road leading to Jinjiang Courtyard, he suddenly noticed something was wrong as he approached the entrance.

Two black commercial vans were parked at the entrance of Jinjiang Courtyard, blocking the road into the residential area.

He stepped on the brakes and squinted to take a look.

Seven or eight people were standing beside the vans. The leader was a bald man with tattoos on his neck, holding a cigarette and looking in his direction.

”Yang Biao? Heh, he arrived quite quickly.”

The corner of Fang Ming’s mouth twitched. He turned the steering wheel to the left, preparing to bypass them.

But at that moment, two more cars suddenly rushed out from behind, one on the left and one on the right, completely blocking his retreat.

Front, back, left, and right—four cars had his porsche cayenne trapped in the middle, unable to move.

Yang Biao, with a cigarette dangling from his mouth, strolled over. He reached the driver’s side, leaned down, and knocked on the window.

Fang Ming rolled down the window.

Yang Biao exhaled a puff of smoke that drifted into the car. He grinned, revealing a mouthful of yellow teeth.

”Fang Ming, long time no see.”

Fang Ming leaned back against his seat and looked at him calmly, his voice devoid of any emotion.

”Yang Biao, in broad daylight, what do you want?”

”What do I want?”

Yang Biao chuckled twice, threw his cigarette butt on the ground, and crushed it.

”You smashed my head with an ashtray last time. You didn’t think I’d just let it go, did you??”

”This is a high-end villa area with cameras everywhere. You want to make a move on me here??”

”Don’t worry, I’m not that stupid. The person looking for you today isn’t me, it’s Young Master Qin.”

Yang Biao paused for a moment before grinning. ”Heh, there’s a path to heaven but you won’t take it; there’s no door to hell but you barge in. Of all the people you could offend, why did you have to provoke Young Master Qin??”

”But you’ve certainly got guts, kid. Even I wouldn’t dare hang up on Young Master Qin, yet you actually dared to hang up on him?? You’re practically asking for death.”

”Come with us, don’t make this difficult for us!!”
