Chapter 532: Chapter 530 Acupuncture Competition

”I can agree to the first request, but the second is out of the question!”

Master Liumu immediately declared.

”It seems you lack confidence in yourself, knowing you’ll lose to me, which is why you dare not agree,”

Xiao Yifeng sneered, a cold glint flashing in his eyes.

Hearing Xiao Yifeng’s words, Master Liumu’s face turned extremely awkward, his gaze flickering briefly, ”Fine, I accept your challenge. I’ll make you lose miserably. For the rest of your life, you’ll be nothing but the lowliest slave in Han Medical Hall, enduring endless torment and pain.”

”Cut the crap and let’s start!”

Xiao Yifeng spat impatiently.

”You want to compete with me in acupuncture skills, but how? There are no patients here for you and me to practice acupuncture on!”

Master Liumu said.

”No need for patients. ’Physician, heal thyself.’ Haven’t you heard of it? We are the patients!”

Xiao Yifeng spoke.

”What do you mean?”

Master Liumu asked, furrowing his brows as he looked at Xiao Yifeng.

”Each of us will stick a needle into the other’s body. The last one who dares not insert a needle will be the loser. Of course, if someone ends up killing their opponent, they also lose. How about that?”

Xiao Yifeng said with a playful smile hanging on his lips as he looked at Master Liumu.

”This...”

Upon hearing Xiao Yifeng’s proposal, Master Liumu’s face slightly changed, his gaze flickering.

”Aren’t you the one who’s said to have divine acupuncture skills? Why won’t you stick the needle in? Or are you afraid of killing me? Rest assured, even if something happens to me, I won’t blame you. Of course, if I do get hurt, you’ll have lost the match and must honor the bet!”

Xiao Yifeng said coldly.

Master Liumu said nothing, his eyes flickering as he contemplated internally.

”Master Liumu, teach this guy a good lesson!”

”Exactly, Master Liumu, show him the might of Japan’s Han Medicine!”

At this moment, more and more onlookers were gathering around them. The Japanese people were shouting for Master Liumu, wanting him to demonstrate the prowess of Japan’s Han Medicine.

”Alright, I accept!”

Eventually, Master Liumu spoke gravely. Under these circumstances, he had no choice but to fight. Otherwise, not only would his reputation be utterly ruined, but the fame of the entire Han Medical Hall would also suffer a severe blow. Moreover, he had to win this competition, or everything would be over.

”I refuse to believe your acupuncture skills are really that incredible!”

Master Liumu glanced at Xiao Yifeng, thinking secretly to himself.

Acupuncture is entirely reliant on experience gained over time, and this kid was at most in his early twenties. Even if he started learning acupuncture from the womb, that would still only be twenty-some years.

He had been studying acupuncture for nearly forty years, which was double the amount of time the other had—to say nothing of the fact that he had been tutored by a true master. He simply could not believe he would lose to a green youngster.

”Then good, let’s begin!”

Xiao Yifeng’s mouth curved into a slight smile as he spoke lightly.

”Go get a table and two boxes of Silver Needles!”

Master Liumu instructed Kudou, the man beside him, who nodded and headed toward Han Medical Hall.

Soon a wooden table was placed in front of them, with two boxes of Silver Needles laid at either side of the table.

”Respect the old and love the young, you go first!”

Xiao Yifeng looked at Master Liumu with an indifferent expression.

”Hmph!”

Master Liumu snorted coldly and waved his hand over the silver needle box. A silver needle was clasped between his fingers, and as a surge of energy flowed, the silver needle trembled and emitted white vapor, sterilizing it.

Whoosh!

In an instant, Master Liumu stabbed the silver needle half an inch into a spot on Xiao Yifeng’s chest.

Whoosh!

Xiao Yifeng, without any hesitation, raised a silver needle after sterilization and stabbed it into the identical spot on Master Liumu’s body, a faint smile hanging on the corner of his mouth.

For a moment, everyone present held their breath, silently watching the contest between Han Medicine and Chinese Medicine unfolding before them.

By now, all the physicians in the Han Medical Hall had gathered outside to watch this contest. Some had already begun recording the competition between the two countries’ medical arts.

This was the first contest between Chinese medicine from China and Han Medicine from Japan, naturally drawing considerable attention. However, most people believed that the ultimate victory would surely belong to Master Liumu.

After all, Master Liumu’s reputation was well-known, while his opponent was an obscure young nobody; the difference was clear at a glance.

In the blink of an eye, Xiao Yifeng and Master Liumu had each inserted dozens of needles, covering each other’s chests.

As more and more needles were inserted, Master Liumu’s speed in applying each needle slowed down, requiring careful consideration.

Though the human body has many acupuncture points, each one is unique and exceedingly complex. A single error could cause serious issues or even death.

Even though Master Liumu was proficient in acupuncture and the body’s acupuncture points, he now had to be cautious. This contest allowed no room for error; should he lose, his years of accumulated reputation and prestige would crumble, and he would lose everything.

However, from beginning to end, Xiao Yifeng’s expression remained utterly relaxed and indifferent, showing no sign of worry.

Whoosh!

As the seventy-eighth needle entered Xiao Yifeng’s body, Master Liumu’s expression became more solemn, and unnoticed beads of cold sweat began to form on his forehead.

Whoosh!

By the time the one hundred and eighth silver needle was inserted into Xiao Yifeng’s body, most of his body was covered in silver needles, making him look like a hedgehog.

After inserting this needle, Master Liumu took a deep breath, his expression extremely serious, his forehead covered in dense beads of sweat.

In contrast, Xiao Yifeng’s complexion was utterly calm, without the slightest change. He swung a silver needle like before and inserted it precisely into the same meridian point on Master Liumu’s body.

For the next needle, Master Liumu paused for several minutes without inserting it, his gaze flickering and his face extremely grave.

At this point in the contest, even Master Liumu dared not act carelessly with his needle application. An incorrect placement might be a small matter if Xiao Yifeng lost his life, but it would mean the contest was lost, which Master Liumu could not allow.

”What’s the matter? Don’t have the nerve to continue? Planning to concede defeat?”

Xiao Yifeng said with a light chuckle, looking at Master Liumu.

At this point, the expressions of everyone in the Han Medical Hall had become utterly solemn, their hearts filled with anxiety and worry, as people around held their breath watching.

”Me? Admit defeat? Impossible,”

Master Liumu said coldly, stabbing the silver needle into one of Xiao Yifeng’s acupuncture points and only breathed a sigh of relief when he saw Xiao Yifeng was unharmed.

Whoosh!

Xiao Yifeng immediately followed up, confidently inserting another needle into Master Liumu’s body, showing no worry whatsoever.

By the time the one hundred and thirty-fifth needle was reached, Master Liumu’s face was completely covered in sweat, turning pale, and his hand holding the silver needle began to tremble slightly, and he didn’t insert the needle for a long time, his gaze flickering.
