Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Has his influence on me been too good?

I imagined him in military uniform and swooned!

Plus, his voice automatically played in my ears, making him incredibly handsome.

However, at this moment, the instructor shouted a command, ”Attention.”

Hearing a rustle of footsteps around her, she snapped back to reality, her movement half a beat late.

Fortunately, the instructor did not criticize her.

Yan Xiaoxi perked up for the lineup training.

...

The whole morning, they trained for three full hours, dismissed at eleven, lunch at eleven fifteen.

Yan Xiaoxi and Shu Ran both had much bigger appetites than usual, returned to the dormitory, and had a sound sleep.

Woke up around two, started cleaning, tidying up, organizing work, and began military training promptly at two-thirty, followed by physical training and barrack labor.

At dinner at five fifteen, Yan Xiaoxi ate a lot, as usual.

During free time, she wanted to conduct interviews but felt drained, completely lacking the morning’s enthusiasm.

After resting for ten minutes, she began working.

The recorder ran out of battery, Yan Xiaoxi listened to everyone’s questions and could only use her phone to record, realizing the lineup training followed the regulations of the ”Queue Regulations”, including individual soldier’s attention stance, repose stance, turning methods, marching, lying down, standing up, advancing, crawling forward, rolling forward, and gun (tube, cannon) handling, formations and movements of squads, platoons, companies, battalions, regiments, riding vehicles and infantry combat vehicles, saluting, flag holding and welcoming, sending off, reviewing, and far more complicated than she imagined.

”Do we need to train for those too?”

The trainer looked at Yan Xiaoxi, ”Yes.”

Yan Xiaoxi felt somewhat eager, not sure why.

The trainer explained, that to test and improve the quality of troop and squad queue training, competitions, reviews, and parades could be conducted, particularly interesting.

...

After chatting, it was soon seven o’clock, time to watch the news broadcast together, discussing merrily.

Yan Xiaoxi sat beside them watching, surprised at how lovable soldiers were.

Just engrossed in watching, her phone rang.

Seeing it was her superior, she stood up, moved aside, answered the call, ”President Li.”

Li Ping, ”Xiaoxi, can you ask the Mayor if we can get authorization for this special feature?”

Yan Xiaoxi, ”...”

But she didn’t want to contact the Mayor now!

Besides, she had blocked him, calling now would be...

So awkward!

Li Ping, ”Xiaoxi, can you hear me?”

Yan Xiaoxi, ”Yes.”

Li Ping, ”I asked for instructions from the higher-ups. If you get this authorization, next quarter with personnel changes, you’ll be directly promoted, and you can choose your position and role.”

Yan Xiaoxi, ”...”

Isn’t that blatant temptation?

Should I make the call?

She snapped back and confirmed again, ”Really?”

Li Ping, ”That’s what the leadership told me, if not true, then treat my head like a ball to kick.”

”Alright, it’s a deal.”

Yan Xiaoxi hung up the phone, brimming with joy, a year’s bad luck finally turned around.

She picked up her phone, found Jin Bo’s number, hesitated for less than a minute before dialing.

Jin Bo got the call, just finished dinner, returned to his place.

He glanced at it and hung up.

Yan Xiaoxi, ”...”

Busy?

Probably not convenient.

Maybe call later at night?

Just as she thought this, she received a text, ”A bit tied up with social affairs, call after nine tonight.”
