Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Yan Xiaoxi picked up the phone, glanced at a text message, and accidentally slammed on the brakes.

The honking from the car behind her startled her. Fearing that the driver would come up and scold her, she quickly put down her phone and restarted the car.

When she got back to where she lived, she parked the car, went back to her room, and planned to lie on the sofa to rest a bit before cooking.

She hadn’t been lying down long when there was a knock on the door.

Yan Xiaoxi looked towards the door, ”Who is it?”

Jin Bo lowered his voice, disguising his true voice, ”Checking the water meter.”

Yan Xiaoxi walked over and opened the door, seeing Jin Bo there, she wanted to close the door but it was too late.

She pulled hard on the door, but it only opened wider in the opposite direction.

Jin Bo said, ”I bought takeout, let’s eat together tonight.”

Yan Xiaoxi replied, ”No need, I’ll cook by myself.”

Jin Bo asked, ”You want to cook for me?”

Yan Xiaoxi, ”...”

She’s defeated by him!

Old men really are thick-skinned!

Jin Bo entered, closed the door, and placed the takeout dinner on the dining table.

Yan Xiaoxi glanced over, what else could she do?

She could only eat!

She fetched bowls, plates, and chopsticks, then noticed that Jin Bo was gone. Looking again, she saw he had gone to the bathroom to wash his hands!

Thinking about all her intimate clothing soaking in the basin, it was too late to salvage the situation!

Jin Bo finished washing his hands and came out, looking at Yan Xiaoxi, ”It’s not good for clothes to soak so long.”

Yan Xiaoxi, ”...”

Jin Bo pulled out a chair and sat next to Yan Xiaoxi, ”Why do you look so upset?”

Yan Xiaoxi looked at Jin Bo, ”...”

Jin Bo picked up a pair of chopsticks, grasped her hand, and placed them in her palm, ”Eat.”

Yan Xiaoxi sat there, feeling the warmth from his hand burning her fingers as if scalded.

Jin Bo served some rice noodles into her bowl and added some dishes for her.

Yan Xiaoxi stared blankly, ”Trying to woo me?”

Jin Bo looked at Yan Xiaoxi, ”It’s not that simple.”

Yan Xiaoxi, ”...”

She sat there, thinking about the song ”Not That Simple.” If she remembered correctly, the lyrics go: ”It’s not that simple to find someone to talk to, especially after seeing and searching through so much betrayal, always uneasy, only strong, who murdered my romance. It’s not that simple to love, ignoring everything else, becoming practical. It might be good, it might be half bad...”

Yeah, although she doesn’t love being alone, she’s gotten used to it. No need to worry about anyone or be managed by anyone. When she feels happy, she busies around, when she feels tired, she lets herself go blank.

She listens casually to what others say, making her own decisions for her affairs.

Not wanting to have too many emotions, a glass of red wine with a movie, turning off her phone, comfortably snug on the sofa is her ideal, a leisurely weekend evening.

Past the age of dreaming, the tumultuous is not as good as peace. Once giving her all, and so the happiest, once missing is the saddest, yet the most heartfelt.

Thinking about how because of that person, she entered the entertainment industry, became an entertainment reporter, and he—

Thinking back, her heart still ached.

She lowered her head, eating, saying nothing more.

Jin Bo was a bit confused by her sudden change, ”What’s wrong?”

Yan Xiaoxi looked up, gave Jin Bo a faint smile, ”Nothing.”

Jin Bo looked at Yan Xiaoxi, thought about Fang Zheng’s lack of detailed data, but regarding her romantic history, it was blank.

She’s twenty-four, he didn’t believe she never had feelings for another man.

Could it be she’s thinking of an ex-boyfriend?

Yan Xiaoxi quietly ate, and Jin Bo said no more, accompanying her in silence.
