Daddy Always Gets Jealous

For a whole week, Jin Bo did not show up.

Yan Xiaoxi scrolled through his Weibo and found out he was on a business trip, not in Hong Kong, no wonder he hadn’t been seen these days.

But the next second, realizing her own thoughts, she couldn’t help but reproach herself, what kind of mentality was this?

Since when did she become a green tea girl?

Wasn’t she supposed to keep her distance from Mr. Mayor?

...

Jin Bo was on a business trip in another province, occasionally trying to call, still on the blacklist.

He had never thought so before, but suddenly seven days felt very long.

Fang Zheng entered the suite and saw Jin Bo browsing Weibo, ”Mayor Jin, on which day is the return flight booked?”

Jin Bo looked up at Fang Zheng.

Fang Zheng said, ”Mayor Wu has invited you to dinner tonight. Over in Hong Kong, there’s a Mr. Ji who wants to invest there and would like to meet you.”

Jin Bo looked at Fang Zheng, lit a cigarette, ”Reject them all.”

Fang Zheng replied, ”Okay.”

As he turned to leave, Jin Bo called him back, ”Wait a minute.”

Fang Zheng stopped and looked at Jin Bo, ”Mayor Jin, is there anything else?”

Jin Bo asked, ”When is the special group going to Winter City?”

Fang Zheng replied, ”On the 7th.”

Jin Bo realized today was the 3rd, the 5th and 6th were the weekend, just in time for some social events here. ”Then make it the 6th flight, call to arrange it, and on the evening of the 6th, I’ll treat the special group to dinner.”

Fang Zheng went, ”...”

Isn’t that inappropriate?

Even though it’s for the mayor’s special project, isn’t the mayor himself treating them akin to bribery?

Is this really okay?

Jin Bo looked at Fang Zheng, his face turned stern, ”What are you waiting for? Didn’t you hear me?”

Fang Zheng replied, ”Heard you.”

Jin Bo removed his hearing aid, ”Go arrange it.”

Fang Zheng thought, ”...”

How much does Mayor Jin despise him?

Isn’t it obvious he wants to see Miss Yan? Did the Mayor get rejected while going about it in such a roundabout way?

At that thought, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but sneak a glance at Jin Bo, but upon catching the overly cold gaze of the mayor, he shivered, withdrew his gaze, and quickly left.

...

On Monday, Jin Bo returned to Hong Kong, had lunch, rested at his place for the afternoon, and when he woke up, it was already five o’clock.

He had just put on his hearing aid when he heard his phone ringing.

Picking up his phone, he glanced at it, it was Fang Zheng, he answered, ”I’ll be downstairs soon.”

He washed his face, returned to the bedroom, opened the wardrobe, and after staring for a while, remembering seeing her wear black often, he chose a light gray outfit, which should look a bit younger.

Ten minutes later, he was all set and went downstairs.

At first glance, Fang Zheng almost didn’t recognize him.

The mayor usually wore darker clothes, why wear this outfit today?

However—

Something was off!

It took a while to realize it looked a little too youthful, as if suddenly aging backwards a few years.

Jin Bo walked over, opened the passenger door, ”Let’s go.”

Fang Zheng drove to the reserved private room where everyone was already gathered.

Jin Bo entered and sat in the central seat, ”Am I late?”

”Mayor Jin, no.”

A chorus of agreements arose.

Jin Bo didn’t look at Yan Xiaoxi, ”Everyone worked hard for my sake, I’ve been meaning to treat you all to this meal, but unfortunately I was busy and out for a while. Today I’m back and made sure to have this meal, consider it a send-off. Once you return, I’ll treat you all again.”

Shu Ran said, ”How could we let Mayor Jin spend so much on us repeatedly?”

Jin Bo looked at Shu Ran, ”I’ve always supported the development of the arts, next time, I might ask everyone to share their opinions on related topics.”

Yan Xiaoxi, sitting next to Shu Ran, looked at Jin Bo, after not seeing him for a few days, he seemed much younger today.
