Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Huo Jinnan ignored the query in Huo Bei’s eyes and sat there, starting to deal with matters.

Huo Bei picked up the transparent, sealed bag from the desk and left the study.

The little guy had already packed up his things and was sitting on the sofa, waiting for Uncle Lu to take him to the hospital. Seeing Huo Bei come downstairs, he glanced over, thinking, so Huo Jinnan isn’t going again?

He sulkily pouted his little mouth.

Huo Bei knew what the young master was thinking, ”The master is busy, so I’ll accompany the young master myself.”

”Let’s go!” The little guy pursed his lips, admitting that he was somewhat thoughtful.

At the hospital, after getting the second-class vaccine, blood was drawn again.

Uncle Lu watched from the side, not understanding why Huo Bei was drawing the young master’s blood, but assuming it was the master’s order, he didn’t say anything.

Huo Bei took the extra tube of blood, put it together with the sealed, bloody bedsheet, and turned to Uncle Lu, ”Uncle Lu, send the young master to school first; I have something else to take care of.”

”Go ahead with your business.”

Uncle Lu complied and took the little guy back to school.

Huo Bei drove directly to Shen Mubai’s place, handed over the items, and asked, ”When can we expect the results?”

Shen Mubai glanced at the items, a tube of blood and a bloodstained bedsheet with no identification, unclear whose paternity test it was for, ”Come back in three days for the results.”

Huo Bei, considering the significance of the matter, said, ”Doctor Shen, it’s best if the tests are not handled by anyone else’s hands.”

”Okay, tell Brother Huo to rest assured,” Shen Mubai replied without inquiring who’s it was, knowing that if Brother Huo sent it, it must be related to him.

After sending Huo Bei away, he glanced down at the items again, frowning in disgust at the bedsheet and wondered, could it be virgin blood?

Three days later, Huo Bei came to collect the results.

Shen Mubai passed the sealed folder to Huo Bei, ”Tell Brother Huo, there are no mistakes.”

Huo Bei took a look, noting the seal was intact, ”Thank you, Doctor Shen.”

Back at Nanyuan Villa, he placed the folder on the desk, ”Master, Doctor Shen said there would be no mistakes in the result.”

Huo Jinnan replied, glanced at the folder on the desk, picked it up, tore open the seal, and pulled out the document!

Huo Bei watched nervously from the side.

After reading it, Huo Jinnan put the document back in the folder, locked it in the drawer, and resumed dealing with the matter at hand.

Huo Bei stood for a few minutes, left the study and closed the door behind him, looking back, wondering if Miss Cheng was indeed the biological mother of the young master?

Huo Jinnan continued to deal with affairs until the night had deepened.

He rolled up his sleeve to check his watch—it was after nine. He called Qin Shaojin, ”Do you have time?”

Qin Shaojin had just finished reviewing all the materials needed for the lawsuit, ”Just got free, no one to dine with, want to meet up?”

Huo Jinnan stood up, picked up the coat hanging on the side, ”Sure.”

Qin Shaojin took the car keys and went out, ”Where shall we meet?”

”The Golden Banquet.”

Huo Jinnan dressed in his coat, loosened his collar, took the file from the drawer and placed it in his coat pocket, then turned and left the study.

The team leader who had taken a short nap, quickly followed out, jumping to the passenger seat when Huo Jinnan got into the car, perching there, thinking his owner was going to see Huanhuan, his eyes shining brightly.

When they arrived, Qin Shaojin had already reserved a private room.

Upon entering, Huo Jinnan noticed Qin Shaojin’s lively spirit, an indication that the preparations for the trial were well in hand. He pulled out a chair, removed his coat and draped it over the chair’s back, sat down, and reached into the coat pocket for the folder, placing it on the table, ”Keep this with you for now.”
