Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Chapter 176: 176 It’s really him! (2)_1

Che Huan suddenly felt a bit scared. He wouldn’t come back, would he?

Huo Jinnan glanced at her slightly trembling arm, his gaze resting on her face with deep and quiet intensity.

Che Huan took a deep breath, ”This is what you owe that child! From now on, I don’t want to have anything to do with a person like you!”

As soon as she finished speaking, she turned and left the room, ”Bang” her exit forcefully punctuated by the door hitting something!

Huo Jinnan watched her retreating figure, his eyes dense with emotion.

After a while, he withdrew his gaze, looking intensely at the pale blue smoke rising from the cigarette butt.

Staring for a moment, he picked up the phone from beside him and dialed Huo Bei’s number, his voice devoid of warmth, ”Drive over to give Miss Che a ride; it’s not easy to hail a taxi in this area.”

”Yes, sir.”

Huo Bei was on his way there, driving while answering the phone.

Huo Jinnan fell silent for a while, then stubbed out his cigarette, stood up, walked to the window, and drew back the heavy curtains to look outside. Her angry voice echoed in his ears, ”This is what you owe that child! From now on, I don’t want to have anything to do with a person like you!”

A moment later, he spoke softly, ”Be careful on the way over, you should be able to see her.”

Just as Huo Bei was about to respond, he heard Mr. Jinnan’s cold voice again, ”Remember to tell her, that’s the lesson for casually going to a stranger’s house, take note.”

A lesson for casually going to a stranger’s house?

Holding the steering wheel, Huo Bei took several seconds to grasp the meaning.

Recalling the night Huo Jinnan stared out the window, his thin lips pressed coldly together, his gaze as deep and dark as ink.

Huo Bei hadn’t heard a voice for a long time, so he spoke softly, ”Sir.”

”That’s all.” Huo Jinnan hung up the phone.

Huo Bei, hearing the busy signal, placed the phone aside. He had driven only a short distance when he saw Che Huan, her face streaked with tears, and slowly reduced the car’s speed.

Seeing the familiar Bentley, Che Huan uncomfortably shielded her eyes and walked right past it.

Huo Bei made a U-turn and followed, driving slowly beside Che Huan with the driver’s side window down, ”Miss Che, the sir has asked me to offer you a lift.”

He?

Che Huan frowned and stopped walking, looking in Huo Bei’s direction.

Gently steering the wheel, Huo Bei parked the car beside Che Huan and got out to open the backseat door.

Facing Huo Bei, Che Huan held back a breath of indignation.

Remembering the master’s instructions, Huo Bei didn’t dare to look at her expression for too long, ”Miss Che, please.”

”Tell him, I don’t need it!”

Tired from walking, Che Huan took off her high heels, threw them away, and kept walking forward.

Serened that she had walked some distance, Huo Bei got back into the car and followed, shaken slightly to see the slender figure of Miss Che stepping on the hard road one foot at a time.

To tell the truth, he had always thought Miss Che was easy to talk to, with a gentle temperament, never expecting her to have such a stubborn side.

He had no idea what had happened between her and the master, to make Miss Che so angry.

Che Huan, hearing the noise behind her, ignored it, crying while she walked.

She tried hard to close her eyes, lift her head, and force the tears back, but they wouldn’t stop.

Having walked a distance and feeling the pain in her feet, she stopped and sat down on the roadside to rest.

Huo Bei parked the car to the side, ”Miss Che, it’s hard to get a taxi here, please get in the car first.”

Sitting there, Che Huan covered her face with both hands, biting her lip to keep from crying out loud.

Seeing the tears through the gaps in her fingers, unsure what to say, Huo Bei stood quietly to the side, waiting.

After a while, the phone rang.

Huo Bei saw it was the master and answered, ”Sir.”
