Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Chapter 167: 167 Stand up for Her (1)_1

After the vaccine was administered, the head nurse went to reconcile the accounts with the principal.

Che Huan was collecting her things alone in the office prepared by the school when she suddenly saw a lady in her thirties standing at the doorway, her brows slightly furrowed.

Li Li looked at Che Huan, ”I’m Zhao Xiaowu’s mother, I heard you’re a nurse at the First Hospital?”

Che Huan smiled politely, ”Yes.”

A smile appeared on Li Li’s face, ”Here’s the thing, my Wa Zi really likes you and wants to hire you as his private nurse. I was wondering if that’s possible?”

Private nursing?

A child, in need of private nursing?

Although it was odd, Che Huan still smiled gracefully, ”I’m sorry, Mrs. Zhao, the hospital has rules that prohibit nurses from taking on private work outside.”

Li Li glanced outside, there was no one around, and she closed the office door, ”If you don’t tell, and I don’t tell, nobody will know. Our Wa Zi really likes you a lot. He’s not well, and he’s usually reluctant to have other nurses give him shots, but he was very well-behaved today when you vaccinated him.”

Che Huan remembered, recalling a timid boy.

She smiled at the child, ”Close your eyes, and it won’t hurt.”

The child didn’t seem to believe her but gently closed his eyes anyway.

When she administered the injection, he only flinched slightly, and it was over quickly.

She said apologetically, ”I’m really sorry, but if the hospital found out, I would be fired.”

Li Li’s expression turned sour, ”There have been plenty of nurses in the past who were eager to become our private nurse. My Wa Zi didn’t like any of them. How about this, you name your price.”

She sounded as if Che Huan was trying to drive up the price.

After Che Huan explained repeatedly, Li Li left, clearly displeased.

Half an hour later, Che Huan had packed up her things and was sitting there waiting for the head nurse when she suddenly heard a knock at the door.

Che Huan walked over, opened the door, and saw Li Li, ”Mrs. Zhao, I think I’ve made myself very clear.”

Li Li let out a cold laugh, ”I’m not here about the nursing job this time. I had a hundred thousand yuan in my bag when I came. Halfway here, I discovered it was gone.”

Che Huan’s eyebrows furrowed upon hearing this, ”Maybe you should look again, it’s unlikely to have been left here.”

Li Li huffed, ”I specifically withdrew a hundred thousand yuan before coming to the school, intending to use it to stock up later. I’ve only been to this place in the meantime, and I even left my bag on the table over there. Where else could it have gone?”

Che Huan patiently tried to explain once more, ”It really couldn’t have been left here.”

”In that case, I’ll have to call the police,” Li Li said as she took out her phone.

Che Huan thought carefully; Li Li had been standing at the door while she packed her things. After she arrived, they hadn’t spoken long, and no one else had come by. It was impossible for there to have been a theft! Besides, she hadn’t even seen the hundred thousand yuan, so it couldn’t have accidentally fallen here.

She looked at Li Li, ”Mrs. Zhao, you’d better call the police quickly then.”

”I see you’re being stubborn to the end!” Li Li glared fiercely at Che Huan and stood there dialing 110 to make a police report.

Only then did Che Huan realize that Li Li suspected her of stealing the money, ”Mrs. Zhao, are you joking? When you came here, it was just the two of us, and you never left either. There was no chance for me to touch your bag. If you think I’m a thief, I won’t see you out!”

Li Li was furious, ”When I asked you to be a private nurse, you put on airs, acting all self-righteous. I never would have guessed you’d stoop to stealing money!”
