Heir of Synthesis: The World Mage

After a few minutes, Priam left the room.

In the corridor, he saw Flora, who seemed to be waiting for him.

When she saw him, she smiled with relief and happiness, then ran to his side.

He quickly understood why she was not taking care of his mother, as he had ordered before. His father was there and wanted to do everything, so she could only stay away.

Priam sighed. His mother had completely recovered. However, the weight of the future worried him. In a few months, he would leave for a sect, and he had no idea when he would return to that planet.

She would be alone, and he did not know how long his father would remain there with her.

”Good morning, Master. The food is already ready in the hall,” she said politely.

Priam nodded in response, then the two of them walked down the corridor, with Flora right behind him, following his steps like a silent shadow.

”Hmm... now that my mother is young and beautiful again, like she should be... maybe my father will get excited... maybe a little brother or little sister would be a good idea,” Priam murmured to himself.

Behind him, the sound of Flora’s footsteps stopped abruptly.

There was a heavy silence, as if the air had vanished.

Priam felt the change and turned around, confused.

Flora was frozen. Her face looked like a red pepper, and small drops of sweat appeared on her forehead. She opened and closed her mouth like a fish out of water, her wide eyes fixed on nothing.

”Are you okay?”

She almost jumped, waking from her thoughts. It seemed Priam’s words had made her connect some things she had heard, or seen, not long ago. She had innocently not understood before, but now the pieces had connected.

”Oh? They were too fast, weren’t they? Well... it’s been a long time since they were apart, and she really is pretty healthy now,” Priam said calmly, becoming certain of what had happened after seeing Flora’s reaction.

”I... I...” She let out a sequence of disconnected words, lowering her head so fast that she almost hit her own chest.

”I-I’m going to see if the flowers need... need conversation!”

She started walking ahead in a stiff way, as if she had forgotten how her own legs worked.

Priam watched her back move away and gave a faint smile.

’Ah... she’s still a young maiden. I have to be careful with what I say. The topic must be too advanced for her,’ Priam thought, feeling very mature, while remaining completely unaware that he had just traumatized the imagination of that young woman.

The two of them arrived at the annex’s dining hall.

There, Priam found his mother and father sitting at the table, side by side. The shine in their eyes and the way their hands touched showed a renewed atmosphere.

Priam felt a little strange, remembering the romance movies he had watched on Earth.

They really looked like a couple in love who had spent a long time away from each other. Now, they were making the most of the time they had.

Apparently, all that was really missing was for the will of the heavens to want it, and he would gain a little brother or little sister in the not-too-distant future.

---

Priam trained for the rest of the day with Flaris, Shione, and Lumiere. But his mother and father stayed nearby in the training field the whole time, sitting in the stands and watching them.

When the physical training ended, it was already night. At that moment, Priam walked over to his mother and asked about the Ancestral Art of her race.

She fell silent, with a complicated expression on her face.

Seien already understood that Priam had discovered the ancient secret of her Bloodline, as well as her ability to bless and curse someone.

Priam took a deep breath, then opened his palm.

”!”

Seien’s eyes almost popped out of their sockets. She saw and felt a very familiar Bloodline power come out of her son. It was a Bloodline very close to hers, but still a little different...

”I now have what I should have had from the beginning,” Priam said with a faint smile. ”You gave this to me yourself.”

Her face twisted slightly.

She did not ask how or why. She simply nodded, trusting Priam.

As for Boey, who also knew that Bloodline very well, he was completely stunned. He stared at Priam without words, filled with doubts and questions. But...

He did not dare open his mouth.

That was because Seien had already told him that Priam hid a great animosity toward him. If he tried to act like a father, or even become too intimate, he would only end up making the situation worse.

The best way to solve this, according to his wife, was simply to change his attitude and stay close to his family. Priam knew he had not abandoned them out of malice. By showing him that everything would be different, and that he truly cared, everything would change easily.

Seien took a deep breath, then looked her son in the eyes.

”The central technique of my race isn’t useful for much besides desperate situations. The consequence of using it is very great, but it can save you from mortal danger at a high cost. I have it with me. If you want it, that’s fine. After all, this is truly yours by right.”

Priam nodded. Then she stood up, taking steps in his direction.

”I saw that you can use the power of nature, correct? Since you have it, it’s easier to transmit everything.”

Seien stopped and stretched out her fingers, lightly touching his forehead.

At that moment, the *Blessing of the Heaven’s Will* appeared in Priam’s mind.

He had already heard that people from the Divine Plane could transmit information much more easily, sending it directly into someone’s mind. At that moment, the incredible origins of his mother’s race showed themselves. She really could do that.

Priam took a deep breath and thanked her.

He was a little dizzy. This method was similar to when the System gave him information. He said goodbye, then returned to his room to study.

...

When he started reading everything, Priam was certain: this was a complete Ancestral Art.

It had many stages, and the last one seemed like something unbelievable and impossible. It was explicitly stated that only after transcending the title of a Sage could someone study it.

After a few hours.

Priam was completely disbelieving and irritated.

He tried and tried. He ran tests, tried to see if he had made any mistake, but everything led to the same conclusion.

”I can’t use any of this. The curse of the laws of the world that mixed into the Bloodline created some variation that prevents me from using it, but...”

Even without being able to use it, the information from the race’s Ancestral Art was very useful to him. It taught him the deepest details of how to manipulate his raw power.

He closed his eyes and focused.

[Dominate?] [Yes / No]

’Yes.’

He could not truly use the Ancestral Art because of the curse’s interference in the Bloodline. But using the System’s Domain, he felt that he could manipulate it a little.

Seconds later.

He stretched out his hand and opened his fist.

With a deep snort, he burned all the power of that cursed Bloodline.

*Wooosh*

A small black flame, less than ten centimeters tall, appeared in his hand.

The temperature in the room dropped drastically. It was as if he were in the middle of a glacial region now. Besides that, all the artificial light in the room became shaky and strange.

Priam stared at the flame in his hand and swallowed hard.

”I can’t use the Blessing, but... I can directly use all the power of the curse...”

His mind processed that, leaving him excited. There was no middle ground. He had to burn the entire cursed Bloodline at once to use it, but this black flame seemed to be something terrible, capable of corrupting everything in front of it.

After recovering the Bloodline over time, the curse would also recover.

”Hmm... I need a name for this, don’t I?” he murmured, and the word came immediately.

”Hellfire... yes, that seems perfect. Bruno made me play those games so many times... but it really was good. He would be proud now.”
