The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop

However, Boss seemed to not care at all. She opened the shop punctually every morning, and then her coachman would arrange the wine jars. Her maid would go buy breakfast for her, and she would laze around the shop all day, watching the hustle and bustle on the street.

Boss was very beautiful. Once, there was a foolish person with ill intentions who tried to take advantage by coming to the shop. The result was that the coachman intervened and subdued the villain, beat him fiercely right at the shop’s doorstep, deliberately choosing painful spots on his body.

The cries were earth-shattering, echoing across ten or so streets. At first, those unaware thought it was a pig being slaughtered. Later, everyone knew, honest folks clapped with joy, while the wicked were left uneasy. The deterrent effect was maximized.

And that wasn’t the end of it; she also called the government officials to take the man away. He went to prison and wouldn’t be out within six months to a year.

Since then, no villain dared to cause trouble at the shop.

This morning, Tianmiao was sitting at the entrance, eating mutton noodles bought from next door, watching the people come and go on the street. The diligent vendors had long since set up their stalls, and in front of her shop was an old man who had been setting up his stall making dough figurines. Of course, Tianmiao let him set up for free, and sometimes she would buy some meat buns for him to take home to his granddaughter.

Actually, the old man’s family was doing quite well, his son worked at the government office, in theory, he didn’t need to come out and earn money. But the old man couldn’t stay idle, he would pick up his load every day and set up his stall.

”Old Sun, have you eaten?” Tianmiao watched as the old man started setting up his stall and asked with a smile.

”Yes, yes.” The old man nodded happily, ”Boss Tian, the weather’s nice today. I brought you some crispy oil peanuts, my daughter-in-law made them herself. She says she often eats the buns you buy, so she brought you something in return.” The old man said as he handed over an oil paper package that was still warm.

”Thanks a lot.” Tianmiao smiled as she took the oil paper package, indeed it was still warm. She imagined the old man’s daughter-in-law must have gotten up early to make it for her. These simple folks are always so endearing.

The old man’s dough figurine stall usually had decent business. Today was no exception.

Two people dressed as martial artists came to the old man’s small stall and asked him to make figurines in their likeness. They were a pair of senior and junior students, from the way they occasionally glanced at each other and smiled, it was clear they had feelings for one another.

The old man cheerfully helped them make each other’s likenesses and handed them over.

As the man was about to pay, there was suddenly a loud shout from behind, and then someone charged at them, holding a glistening cold knife, aiming straight for the man’s back.

People around shrieked in surprise and quickly dodged away.

The old man’s face changed as he backed away. But his dough figurine stall was about to be knocked over.

In the next moment, Tianmiao gently pulled the old man’s collar to steady him, secured the small stall, and leaped over it, kicking out with a foot. She directly sent the attacker flying.

No exaggeration, he was really sent flying. From here, all the way to several shops down, before he collapsed on the ground bleeding.

Tianmiao coldly looked at the stunned man and said calmly, ”Pay the money.”

”Wh-what?” The man hadn’t yet recovered his senses from the unexpected turn of events.

”You haven’t paid for the dough figurine. You startled this old man and made him twist his waist. Pay ten taels of silver. Otherwise, end up like him.” Tianmiao pointed to the attacker who was still lying in the distance, bleeding and unable to get up.

”Ah! Of course, of course.” The man finally came to his senses, quickly took out silver, and offered it to Tianmiao. Tianmiao didn’t take it, rather she indicated with her eyes for him to place it on the stall.

The man hurriedly placed it down, then straightened himself up and clasped his hands in salute to Tianmiao, ”Thank you, Miss, for your help.” He hadn’t expected that person to be so audacious, daring to attack in the bustling market. Luckily, this lady helped out.
