The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop

Chapter 384: Chapter 8: The Mudslide of the Entertainment Industry

Kong Hou paused and looked at Ruan Tingyi, then at Dong Xiao, and asked Dong Xiao, ”The people living here must be pretty rich, right?”

”Yeah, they are,” Dong Xiao replied absent-mindedly while continuing to flip the skewers in his hand.

Kong Hou got angry and turned to Ruan Tingyi, ”You said you didn’t have money for chips, so I asked Dong Xiao to mail you ten boxes!”

”I didn’t say I was poor, I just didn’t eat much because I’m afraid of gaining weight,” Ruan Tingyi explained with grievance.

Kong Hou froze, thought for a moment, realizing Yuanyuan never said she was poor; it was just her assumption.

”Oh, never mind, pretend I didn’t say anything.” Kong Hou waved it off. Her anger quickly dissipated upon knowing it was a misunderstanding.

”Hey, Silver Dragon, is Tianmiao your sister? Could I ask for her autograph later?” Ruan Tingyi asked softly. The thought was exciting, as Tianmiao had never appeared in public before, and she might be the first fan to get her autograph.

”Can’t you ask her yourself?” Kong Hou replied.

”I’m too nervous.” Ruan Tingyi admitted.

”Oh, I’m scared too.” Kong Hou shrugged, sounding broke and poor, ”Let’s not think about unrealistic things and focus on eating first. I doubt my sister would give you an autograph. But you can come over to my house, just don’t come empty-handed next time—it’s best to bring some gourmet food.” After Kong Hou said Tianmiao wouldn’t give an autograph, Ruan Tingyi looked deflated, but then she instantly perked up with excitement at Kong Hou’s words.

”Will it be too much trouble to come over again another day?” Ruan Tingyi asked excitedly.

Kong Hou rolled her eyes at Ruan Tingyi, ”You said that just now and nearly jumped right in. Can you be a bit more honest?”

”Oh, sure, I’ll come by whenever I’m free.” Ruan Tingyi said gleefully, cautiously casting sidelong glances at Tianmiao. She couldn’t face Tianmiao directly due to lacking the courage, and could only steal glances.

”All right. But remember to bring gourmet food.” Kong Hou reminded again. To be a welcomed guest, one must bring something the host likes.

”I won’t forget. Silver Dragon, thank you so much. I really like you, hahah.” Ruan Tingyi said delightedly.

”Call me by my name, Kong Hou.” Kong Hou wasn’t used to Ruan Tingyi calling her Silver Dragon.

”Then call me by my name too, Ruan Tingyi.” Ruan Tingyi mentioned her name.

”No way, I’ll call you Yuanyuan.” Kong Hou bluntly refused, ”Yuanyuan sounds nice.”

Ruan Tingyi felt like crying; what’s nice about it? She chose this name to remind herself not to overeat and turn into a chubby round figure, yet now being called Yuanyuan by Kong Hou felt too tragic. If she had known, she wouldn’t have chosen this user name.

”Alright, sit down and eat.” By this time, Dong Xiao had finished grilling and was plating the food, inviting Kong Hou and Ruan Tingyi to start eating.

Then Ruan Tingyi nearly swallowed her tongue.

This is way too delicious!!!

Heavenly delicacies, no, food from heaven!

Finally, with a round belly full of food, Ruan Tingyi thanked them sheepishly and left. She exchanged phone numbers with Kong Hou and arranged to come by next time to thank them properly, then went home trembling with excitement.

Ruan Tingyi walked home bursting with joy.

Today she met her gaming buddy Silver Dragon, successfully met in person. And enjoyed a fantastic barbecue meal. Most importantly, she saw the legendary Angel’s Voice, Tianmiao!

What a delightful day!

Ruan Tingyi’s thoughts at the moment were practically like a primary school essay. Time, place, people, reflections—all neatly in place.
