The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop

Chapter 15: Chapter 3: The Blind-Eyed but Clear-Hearted Young Marquis

Although the young Marquis is blind, his martial skills are not lacking. His ability to locate based on sound is not just a rumor; the young Marquis indeed possesses this skill. Judging by how this group praises the young Marquis, they probably wouldn’t let him stumble even the slightest bit.

But they all underestimated human nature.

...

When the young Marquis accurately shot down a rabbit, the crowd burst into cheers.

Tan Weizhi’s face turned dark as he listened to the cheering crowd. However, when he thought of the plan ahead, his mood improved again.

”There’s a deer over there!” Tan Weizhi whispered.

”Where? Where?” the others whispered anxiously, afraid of scaring away the deer Tan Weizhi mentioned.

”Over there! You see, it just leaped into those bushes, quickly chase after it.” Tan Weizhi pointed to a thicket not far ahead, ”Hurry and drive the deer out, let the young Marquis showcase his skills. Tonight we can drink deer blood!” Tan Weizhi’s low voice was filled with excitement.

His words clearly stirred the crowd, and they silently crept toward that direction. Only Tan Weizhi and Xiao Anning remained standing where they were.

”Young Marquis, over this way.” Tan Weizhi reminded in a voice that only he and Xiao Anning could hear, ”Watch your step, move a bit this way, it’ll be easier to shoot when they drive it out.”

Xiao Anning just shifted his steps when he felt a tremendous force from behind. He lost control and lunged forward, then experienced a rapid sense of falling.

He was pushed by Tan Weizhi into a pit!

The round-faced youth, who was originally at the front preparing to drive the deer, turned his head by a twist of fate at that moment, just in time to see Xiao Anning disappear into the pit and also saw the malicious smile of triumph on Tan Weizhi’s face.

”What did you do? Do you know who he is?” The round-faced youth asked in horror, his voice trembling.

”You’ve seen everything.” After initial panic, Tan Weizhi calmed down and spoke with composure.

”Do you know what you’re doing? Quickly, pull the young Marquis up.” The round-faced youth shouted urgently.

”It’s no use, this pit is bottomless, we have no idea where it leads.” A strange smile appeared on Tan Weizhi’s face, ”Now we’re all in the same boat. We just need to stick to the story that the young Marquis accidentally fell in, and it has nothing to do with us...” This barely noticeable pit was something he discovered by chance before; it’s bottomless and extremely steep, it’s impossible for anyone to survive a fall.

Tan Weizhi hadn’t finished speaking when he was met with a magnified fist. The round-faced youth mustered all his strength and delivered a punch squarely to Tan Weizhi’s face.

Everyone could hear the crack of breaking bones. Tan Weizhi’s nose was forcefully broken by the round-faced youth.

”I knew you were somewhat ruthless, and being ruthless in the way of an official is normal. But I didn’t imagine you to be both cruel and stupid!” The round-faced youth rebuked vehemently, ”Do you know the young Marquis’s status? Even the Emperor cherishes and favors him, and all those guards outside were appointed by the Emperor himself. How could you be so stupid? Do you think claiming the young Marquis accidentally fell will absolve you of all responsibility? Even if the young Marquis truly fell by accident, the repercussions for each of us and our families would be severe. If anything happens to the young Marquis, we’re all doomed!”

Listening to the round-faced youth, the fear in everyone’s hearts grew larger.

Indeed, the young Marquis, he’s the young Marquis after all. Saying he’s showered with immense love is no exaggeration. Should anything happen to him, one can’t imagine the fury of the Duke’s household, and the young Marquis’s mother, who is the daughter of the current King Ying, Commandery Princess Yong’an. And who is King Ying? King Ying is the only younger brother of the current Emperor, sharing the same mother, and there’s no need to elaborate on the bond between him and the Emperor.
