The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop

Chapter 207: Chapter 31: Piglet in the Palm

After having dinner, Yan Zhengya contentedly savored the taste of the roasted lamb leg he just ate. At this moment, Tianmiao said to Yan Zhengya, ”Something has happened at the Taoist Alliance, and we have to return tomorrow.”

”Ah? So soon?” Yan Zhengya straightened up suddenly, surprised. He felt guilty for having received so much money from them and yet hadn’t properly entertained them before they had to leave.

”Yes, there’s some matter that needs to be handled,” Tianmiao said softly.

”You have to take good care of the woolly pig, make sure it eats well and drinks well. Maybe one day it’ll even change shape,” Kong Hou said, patting the woolly pig’s round belly, and advised earnestly.

”Of course, of course.” Yan Zhengya thought of the woolly pig’s appetite and suddenly felt an increased pressure.

”Don’t worry too much. It’s undergoing mutation now, so it needs energy, which is why it eats so much. It won’t eat so much in the future,” Tianmiao noticed Yan Zhengya’s concern and explained with a smile.

Yan Zhengya recalled that the woolly pig started talking indeed after a hefty meal at the restaurant, and he suddenly understood.

”Yes, thank you, sir.” Yan Zhengya smiled as well, ”Even if the woolly pig remains so gluttonous, I will strive to take care of it.”

”You’re a good father,” Tianmiao handed the woolly pig to Yan Zhengya. ”Woolly pig, you must listen to your dad.”

”Mm-hmm, I will. I like Dad the most,” the woolly pig nodded its little head, then quickly added, ”I also like sister very much.”

”This little smart thief.” Kong Hou couldn’t help but laugh.

...

The next day, Tianmiao and his companions left early in the morning.

Yan Zhengya looked at the empty courtyard and felt an immense sense of guilt.

”Dad, this is so heavy, help me take it off,” the woolly pig stood beside Yan Zhengya, its back burdened with a huge package, forming a stark contrast with its small body.

”Where did this come from?” Yan Zhengya wondered, squatting down to help the woolly pig remove the pack from its back.

”Sister gave it to me,” once the pack was removed from its back, the woolly pig instantly felt incredibly relieved and bounced around happily on its tiny pig trotters.

Yan Zhengya opened the package to take a look and was almost blinded by its glare. He finally understood why the woolly pig said it was heavy; the fact that it hadn’t crushed the woolly pig’s small frame was simply testament to the woolly pig’s robust nature.

Inside the package were all heavy bars of gold! Neatly placed together, emitting a faint gold glow that made him dizzy.

How much money is this?

”Did that lord give you this? Did she say anything to you when she gave it to you?” Yan Zhengya squinted his eyes and quickly tied the package again to protect his eyes.

”Sister said to give it to you, to buy me food,” the woolly pig happily placed its two little pig trotters on the package. ”I thanked sister. Dad, can we buy lots of delicious food?”

”Y-yes...,” Yan Zhengya nodded with difficulty. He could buy not just a lot of food, but buy out the entire establishment!

”Wow, that’s great,” the woolly pig wagged its short tail, happily circling Yan Zhengya.

Yan Zhengya picked up the woolly pig and earnestly said to it, ”That lord treated you with such kindness, remember her goodness, okay? If you can help her in the future, you must not hesitate.”

”Mm-hmm, sister is great, I will also be good to sister. When can we see sister again?” the woolly pig looked up with its little head, its black bean eyes gazing at Yan Zhengya.

Yan Zhengya fell silent.

He didn’t know when he would see those lords again. The feeling they left him was simply too mysterious.
