Medical Sage

Even though the three of us haven’t taken him down yet, I’m certain of one thing: Melsdom is severely injured! So how can he still be escaping so quickly? This is completely illogical.

”He is severely injured, indeed. However, if I’m not mistaken, he seems to have broken through to the Peak Level of Holy Magister. Damn it, I never expected this old man to hide his prowess so well!”

Hot on their heels, Prince Schumacher arrived, swooping in on his devilishly fierce wings. His figure materialized in a flash of blood-red light, and his expression was incredibly dark and grim.

”What? Peak Holy Magister?” Wenn Yongshou caught up from behind, just in time to hear Schumacher’s words, and his face turned pale immediately.

Wenn Tianxiong was even more infuriated, his face livid as he said, ”Prince Schumacher, is this the assurance you gave us? You said that as long as the three of us joined forces, we could take down everyone! But what is this now? What happens if they manage to escape?”

Given their prior actions, they had essentially positioned themselves against everyone. Under such circumstances, even one person escaping alive could spell their doom. How could he not be furious and distressed?

”Rest assured. As I said before, they can’t escape before my master awakens,” Schumacher sneered, completely unconcerned. ”The Sealing Ground has been completely closed, and even the exit has disappeared. Where can they run? They’re nothing more than turtles in a jar.”

He then added ominously, ”Our most pressing matter is to capture Melsdom quickly and offer him as a sacrifice to my master. Only the Flame Magic Energy within his body is the perfect offering to awaken him! Once my master awakens, what will there be to fear?”

”Is that so? I hope you’re right. But when that time comes, Prince, don’t forget our agreement,” Wenn Yongshou said expressionlessly, his voice chilling.

”Don’t worry,” Schumacher said with a composed sneer. ”Once my master is successfully resurrected, I will hand over the relics of the eastern warriors to you, as we agreed. You both know perfectly well that those things are useless scrap to me and my master. What is there left to worry about?”

So there was such an agreement between them. No wonder...

”That’s good to hear. We trust you, Prince. However, I remember that little bastard Chen also cultivates the power of fire. Didn’t you consider him one of your targets?” Wenn Yongshou asked suddenly, a cold glint appearing in his eyes.

”Of course, he is one of my targets,” Schumacher said with a deep frown. ”The trouble is, I don’t know where that little bastard is hiding. I didn’t see him earlier.”

His targets were everyone who cultivated the power of fire. This included the Fire Element Grand Mage Melsdom, as well as the ss+ or ss+ Peak Fire Element Mages and Ability Users. He planned to use their power to awaken his slumbering master.

Chen Fei also possessed the power of fire, and it seemed quite strong, so there was no way he would be left off the target list.

But that little bastard is hiding and won’t show himself. Could he have already sensed that something is wrong?

At the thought, Schumacher’s expression turned even darker. He said coldly, ”Let’s not worry about that for now. We’ll split up. When you hunt down your prey, bring their bodies to the altar. Once we’ve gathered enough fire power for the sacrifice, we can begin resurrecting my master! By then, even if they sprouted wings, they couldn’t escape! Haha, hahahahaha...”

He ended with a burst of manic laughter.

Hearing that crazed laughter, the brothers Wenn Tianxiong and Wenn Yongshou exchanged a look, each seeing a flicker of unease deep in the other’s eyes. Even so, they clenched their teeth and nodded moments later.

”Fine... Let’s split up.”

They were acutely aware that cooperating with Schumacher was akin to bargaining with a tiger. But they had no choice. They had already cast their lot with him and couldn’t back out now, especially since the precious relics from the eastern warriors were held firmly in their adversary’s grasp.

Unless they were willing to give up on the treasured relics and resist the immense temptation, their only option was to see this dark path through to the end. They had to gamble everything.

「Meanwhile」

Chen Fei, Young Master Chen, was completely oblivious to the drastic events unfolding outside. He had, however, just found a very strange place.
