Medical Sage

In the eyes of many Flying Leopard members, the sudden appointment of Chen Fei as the new chief instructor was completely out of the blue. He had seemingly appeared from nowhere, so they were nowhere near as familiar with him as they were with Deputy Instructor Wang Dashan. Naturally, reverence was out of the question.

After all, Chen Fei looked far too young, so young that some of them could hardly believe their eyes. They all knew that only a Strong Innate Ancient Martial Artist was qualified to hold the position of chief instructor.

But was it really possible for someone who appeared to be in his twenties to be an Innate Ancient Martial Artist?

It wasn’t just them. In fact, even the Maitreya-like Wang Dashan had been skeptical before meeting Chen Fei in person.

But now…

Any expert of his caliber possessed a perception far beyond ordinary people, allowing them to discern a person’s Cultivation Aura. Besides, from the very beginning, Chen Fei had made no effort to hide his power. He had deliberately released a faint trace of his Qi Refining Fourth Layer Cultivation Aura for Wang Dashan to sense.

Therefore, the moment Chen Fei had stepped off the plane, Wang Dashan recognized him for what he was: a true Strong Innate Ancient Martial Artist.

At the same time, even with his calm temperament, he couldn’t help but sigh internally. This world truly has its share of stunning, prodigious talents. An Innate Ancient Martial Artist in his twenties… If I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes, who would believe it? Who could even imagine it?

”Hmph!”

At this thought, the benign, Maitreya-like smile on Wang Dashan’s face vanished. He took a powerful stride forward, and in an instant, a surging murderous aura erupted from him, completely contradicting his previous image. He was like a Demon God.

It was only now that the ”Demon” in his moniker, ”Smiling Demon,” began to truly reveal itself. After all, it wasn’t a name he had earned for nothing.

BOOM!

As he slowly advanced, the spectators around the training field were horrified to feel an oppressive aura envelop them. It swirled around Instructor Wang Dashan’s body like a dormant volcano, gathering force.

His eyes, once smiling and often narrowed to slits, were now abruptly cold and sharp. A low hum, like the growl of a demon, resonated from his entire body.

CLANG!

Suddenly, a sound like the ground itself shifting echoed across the training field. Many of the onlookers swallowed hard, their faces turning pale with alarm. As they looked at Deputy Instructor Wang again, their eyes were filled with profound shock.

They were soldiers, the super-elite among elites, so they were conditioned not to lose their composure. However, the slight trembling of their lips betrayed their inner turmoil.

Deputy Instructor Wang Dashan seems far more formidable than ever before. Wait, could it be…

Interesting… Not even Chen Fei was immune. Feeling his opponent’s powerful momentum, a hint of surprise and focus touched the corners of his mouth. Based on this aura alone, Deputy Instructor Wang’s strength seemed to rival that of an ordinary Innate Ancient Martial Artist. And this was before he had even fully stabilized his new Cultivation Level or mastered control over his power.

It seems this Deputy Instructor Wang really has some skill.

At that moment, under the crowd’s shocked and solemn gazes, Deputy Instructor Wang had transformed. His face became an icy mask radiating a murderous aura that warned everyone to keep their distance. Licking his lips with a hint of demonic glee, he looked at Chen Fei. ”Chief Instructor, please, instruct me.”

Please, instruct me!

His words reverberated like the beat of a war drum, and the oppressive aura crashed down on the training field, making everyone’s heart seize.

This is… Feeling that suffocating and menacing killing intent, Chen Fei paused, then gave his opponent a deep look. He extended a hand, flexing his fingers slightly. ”Come on. Make your move.”

”As you wish!”

BANG!

In an instant, the murderous aura in the training field exploded. Instructor Wang stomped his foot, and the ground around it visibly spiderwebbed with cracks. His figure then blurred into a black streak, shooting forward.

So fast! The Elite of Flying Leopard members watching from the sidelines were stunned. To their horror, they realized they could no longer follow Deputy Instructor Wang’s movements.

CLANG!

A sharp, metallic sound rang out. Before anyone knew what had happened, Deputy Instructor Wang’s figure had appeared directly in front of Chen Fei. His fist, clenched like a cannonball, smashed forward, only to be casually deflected by Chen Fei’s open palm.

Not only that, but Chen Fei’s gaze sharpened viciously. His hand shifted from a palm to a fist, chopping down from above toward Wang Dashan’s shoulder blade. The latter immediately raised his arms to block.

BANG!

RUMBLE!

He hadn’t expected the astonishing power behind Chen Fei’s punch. It struck his crossed arms with the force of a falling mountain, sending a violent shudder through his entire body. An unnatural flush crept up his cheeks, and he spat out a mouthful of blood.

He immediately stomped his foot down hard to stabilize himself. The ground beneath him instantly gave way, collapsing into a dark pit at least three meters in diameter that seemed to exhale an eerie smoke.

”Hiss!”

”This…”

The onlookers exchanged glances, shivering uncontrollably with a mixture of bewilderment and terror. How can he be this strong!?

A light breeze swept across the field, clearing the dust and smoke. The webbing between Deputy Instructor Wang’s thumb and forefinger was split open. His hands trembled uncontrollably as trickles of fresh blood dripped down—a jarring sight.

”As expected of the Chief Instructor,” Wang Dashan said, his face an emotionless mask as he licked his lips. A demonic light glinted in his eyes, even as he felt the throbbing pain in his hands. ”Are you a practitioner of external martial arts?”

”You could say that,” Chen Fei replied with a faint, meaningful smile. ”My body is a bit tougher than average, so you shouldn’t hold back. It would be best to use your real strength.”

”My real strength?”

Hearing this, Deputy Instructor Wang paused, a strange look in his eyes. Then, the aura around him grew even colder. ”Alright then,” he said slowly. ”Chief Instructor, you had better be careful.” As the words left his mouth, an even more immense and oppressive demonic aura surged from his body, and he moved in a flash.

He reappeared at Chen Fei’s right side. Bending two fingers together like the tip of a sword, he condensed a long, dark ray of energy around them. In less than half a breath, his two fingers turned pitch-black, pulsing with a palpitating energy as he stabbed down toward Chen Fei’s shoulders.

It’s Wang Dashan’s Demon Cloud Finger! Ma Dong abruptly held his breath. This was Wang Dashan’s signature technique. Even back when their strength was comparable, he had never dared to underestimate this move. He had personally witnessed a Half-Step Innate Powerhouse, overconfident in his family’s tough armor, dismiss the technique, only to have a bloody hole pierced through him, killing him on the spot.

Now that Wang Dashan had broken through to the Innate Ancient Martial Artist realm, Ma Dong was incredibly eager to see just how much stronger his signature move had become. It was thrilling to anticipate.

”Demon Cloud Finger!”

In the brief moment Ma Dong was distracted, a cold shout echoed across the training field. Deputy Instructor Wang’s face was like frost, his fingers wreathed in black as he thrust them violently at Chen Fei’s body. As he executed the move, his aura became utterly terrifying—cold, predatory, and suffocating, as if it could corrode everything it touched.

But just then, the crowd was horrified to feel another, impossibly sharp presence explode across the field.

”Xingyi Fist Eagle Form, Ripping Gold Claw!”

No one saw when it happened, but Chen Fei had twisted his body into a bizarre posture. He was slightly hunched over, one hand held back, his fingers trembling as they slowly curled together. An image suddenly flashed through the minds of the onlookers: a great eagle screaming as it tore through the heavens.

His hand lashed out like a claw. He was a majestic eagle hunting its prey, his talons sharp enough to tear through steel.

”Wha—”

BANG!

Feeling that razor-sharp aura sweep toward him, an aura that seemed capable of piercing through metal, Wang Dashan’s expression changed dramatically, even at the peak of his power. Sheer terror flashed in his eyes.

In the next instant, Chen Fei’s claw slammed into his Demon Cloud Finger. A terrifying, invisible shockwave erupted like a volcano. The ground beneath the two men, and for at least seven or eight meters around them, instantly collapsed. A large section of the hard stone tiles shattered, revealing a massive, terrifying crater.

Is it over?

Gazing at the devastated training field, Ma Dong kept his eyes locked on the center, desperate to see the outcome. At the same time, he couldn’t help but steal a reverent glance at the young figure who had barely moved an inch from his spot the entire time. He was filled with awe and disbelief.

It was obvious that Deputy Instructor Wang’s current strength was utterly terrifying in his eyes. And the result? He had been completely suppressed from start to finish. The implication was undeniable.

To think such a fearsome young man actually exists in this world! The thought filled him with terror, but also a bitter sense of unfairness. Is this what it means to be favored by the heavens?
