Delta is Coming, Big Red Has Special Effects

324: Extreme cold and acid rainThe moment the cold wind swept across the battlefield, the rainwater that had accumulated on the ground instantly froze into frost at a visible speed.

In an instant, only one thought remained in the minds of all the Xia Country Operatives: cold.

Extreme cold.

The bone-chilling cold rushed into everyone’s nostrils almost instantly.

Many people only realized at this moment that cold has a taste.

What was even more critical was that their clothes had already been completely soaked by the rain during the initial battle.

As time passed, their clothes were now completely frozen.

To ensure their movements wouldn’t be hindered during combat, each of them wore only thin combat uniforms.

Soon, the ears and fingertips of the Xia Country Operatives began to show frostbite and swelling.

On the other hand, the Hafke Soldiers seemed unaffected.

It was unknown what special material their uniforms were made of, as they showed no signs of being affected by such extreme cold.

“Are you kidding me?!”

“First it rained, then there was thunder!”

“Now is it going to snow?!”

Due to the cold, the voices of the Xia Country Operatives trembled slightly.

Before the Xia Country Operatives could figure out where this cold wind came from, green acid rain began to fall from the sky.

Drip—

Drip—

The density and frequency of the acid rain were not as great or as dense as the previous rainfall.

But even so, it made it impossible for the Operatives present to avoid it.

After all, no one would have thought to bring an umbrella to a battlefield.

Moreover, even if they had umbrellas, they would be completely useless against the green acid rain!

Hiss—

The acid rain fell on the Operatives, instantly creating white smoke and corroding small holes in their clothing at an exaggerated speed.

“Ah—!”

Immediately after, a Xia Country Operative let out a painful cry.

He quickly took out a painkiller from his chest rig and swallowed it, which relieved the pain he had just felt.

Some experienced Operatives and special personnel never ran out of painkillers.

As a result, they didn’t feel the pain on their bodies.

Seeing that person’s reaction, many people began to pay attention to their own bodies.

It was better not to look.

Upon looking, all the Operatives showed shock and horror at this moment!

On their bodies, in the areas hit by the acid rain, except for the regions protected by helmets and armor, their clothes were full of corroded holes.

And beneath that, their skin was corroded with bleeding wounds.

Even the parts protected by helmets and armor showed rapid corrosion from the acid rain.

At the current rate of corrosion, their helmets and armor would be completely corroded in at most another minute.

And by then, if even one drop of acid rain hit their helmets, they would be corroded through the top of their skulls and die.

Panic appeared on the faces of the Xia Country Operatives.

They could accept dying in battle.

They could even die for their country.

But this feeling of waiting for their own death was completely different.

This mental torment far outweighed the physical pain.

This was why all death row inmates, after learning their execution date, would suffer sleepless nights and find it difficult to swallow food.

“The guns! The guns are unusable!!”

“What in the world is going on?!”

“Mine isn’t working either!”

At this moment, exclamations of alarm constantly echoed around them.

Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang—!!!

However, the Hafke Soldiers would not give the Xia Country Operatives any free time.

While the Xia Country Operatives were being corroded by the cold and acid rain, the Hafke Soldiers launched a fierce offensive.

Crack—!!

Crack—!!!

“Damn it, my gun is broken too!!!”

Many Xia Country Operatives prepared to raise their guns to counterattack.

But just then, they noticed blue-green mottling on their guns.

An Operative, noticing signs of corrosion on his firearm after it came into contact with the acid rain, immediately shouted to those around him:

“It’s the acid rain from the sky!”

“Everyone protect your firearms! Don’t let them get touched by the acid rain!”

Hearing this information, the Xia Country Operatives present all fell silent.

This news was crucial.

They only needed to avoid the acid rain to prevent their weapons from being corroded and damaged.

However, this news also brought despair.

Even if the frequency and density of the acid rain were not comparable to the previous rainfall, who could manage to raise their gun and shoot in the rain while ensuring their firearm didn’t get a single drop of acid rain on it?

Long Wu, who was commanding the battle from a distance, showed anxiety on his face when he saw this scene.

Previous crises had been resolved one by one by Zhang Ning, Shen Cangsheng, Chen Yu, Fuji, and others.

This had brought a glimmer of hope to the originally desperate battlefield.

But this hope was extinguished by the cold wind and acid rain before it could even fully ignite.

At this moment, Long Wu’s heart perfectly encapsulated a classic saying: I could accept darkness, provided I had never seen the light.

If it weren’t for Fuji and the others, Long Wu could have accepted this battle, which was destined to fail.

But everyone was fighting desperately to seize that sliver of hope.

This hard-won light absolutely could not disappear like this!

Long Wu frowned, looking at the center of the battlefield, trying his best to remain calm.

But in his ears, the wails of the Xia Country Operatives, suffering from the acid rain and cold wind, constantly echoed.

Long Wu took off his helmet.

At the same time, he held a carbon fiber board above his head to prevent the acid rain from falling on his head.

After removing his helmet, the sounds of wailing greatly diminished.

This allowed Long Wu to observe the battlefield with greater focus.

By now, even a primitive person would be able to see that the previous rain and lightning, and now the cold wind and acid rain, were all the work of Hafke.

Although he didn’t know how they achieved it, this was an undeniable fact.

After all, from the beginning until now, all of Hafke’s Soldiers and weapons had not been affected in the slightest.

This was enough to explain the problem.

But Long Wu didn’t believe that Hafke could achieve full coverage with a weapon capable of completely changing the battlefield situation.

“If it’s only a localized area, then there’s still a glimmer of hope...”

Long Wu quickly grabbed his military binoculars and continuously observed the distance.

Soon, Long Wu noticed that the coverage of the acid rain was limited.

However, the side closest to the edge of the acid rain’s coverage was also where the Hafke Soldiers were most concentrated.

“Damn it... why here of all places...”

At this moment, both good news and bad news were simultaneously presented before Long Wu.

From Hafke’s appearance until now, besides commanding the battle, Long Wu had been trying every possible way to find a breakthrough.

After all, Hafke was encircling the Xia Country Operatives in a ring.

Originally, the appearance of Sayyid and Su Mulan made Long Wu choose the left side of the battlefield as the direction for a breakthrough.

But before he could deploy his countermeasures, the current situation arose.

Currently, the rear of the left battlefield, where Hafke Soldiers were scarcest, was entirely covered by the acid rain.

Even if they could completely break through before the acid rain corroded their helmets and armor, they would absolutely not have enough time to escape the acid rain’s range.

But if it was the side with the smallest acid rain coverage, breaking through would become a problem... Hesitating for less than a second, Long Wu’s gaze firmly turned towards the direction where the Hafke Soldiers were densely concentrated.

If he had more time to think, there might have been better countermeasures.

But given the current situation, he didn’t have much time to think.

He didn’t even have time to use the heart of africa to test the feasibility of various wishes and prices.

After all, a wish like making all Xia Country Operatives immune to cold or acid rain would require a price that Long Wu could not afford.
