MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1537: Rewarded Efforts

Whoosh!

Having activated all of his buffs before fighting against his current set of opponents, Ataraxia went ahead and took the initiative by sending a series of flaming orbs at them.

”[Orb of Apyrhan]!”

With the buffs of [First Sky] greatly reducing the cooldown between spells, the young man soon filled the killing grounds with the flaming orbs, forcing the Divine Elite-tier monsters to take most of them head-on.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Watching the orbs explode the moment they make contact with the monsters, Ataraxia then followed it up with the other spells in his arsenal, continuing to maintain the same level of pressure on the monsters all throughout the barrage.

”[Noctilucent Metanoia].”

”[Awakening of Luminance].”

Yet, even with how many attacks the young man was sending their way, the monsters gradually grew resistant to it, slowly but surely closing the gap that existed between them.

Whoosh!

Of course, knowing that even a single hit from the monsters would deal a decent chunk of damage to him, Ataraxia actively put distance between them while also distracting them with the help of his spells and Mystic Energy here and there.

Having figured out the general pattern he needed to use while fighting the current set of monsters a long time ago, things gradually shifted into his favor as more and more time passed, causing the monsters to slowly feel a sense of despair and helplessness towards their current situation.

In the end, a small group of Divine Elite-tier monsters eventually laid on the floor of the killing ground lifeless, their total lack of vitality a stark contrast to the immense level of strength theyʼve shown during their fight.

Ding!

[With a 10+ level disparity between the user and the opponent, the amount of experience obtained shall be increased by 200%.]

[You have slain a Level 100 Gray Balgama Sabertooth (Divine Elite). You have gained 9,096,867 XP.]

”Hmm?” Going through the series of notifications that usually came about after fighting a group of monsters, Ataraxia noticed that the list of notifications he received from the system this time were considerably longer than usual.

”Wait…” Thinking of the longer notifications as him missing a few notifications from his fights earlier, the young man soon came up with another possibility in mind, prompting him to look at his notifications with a hint of anticipation.

”Could it be…?”

Taking in a deep breath to calm his suddenly tensed nerves, Ataraxia then slowly began to scroll down through his notifications, hoping that the system would finally give him the thing that heʼd been wanting to obtain for the past four days.

Fortunately, the system decided to listen to him this time around.

[All beings tread the path to supremacy at some point. However, only a small portion of them truly reach the pinnacle of the path they take.]

[Some of them tread a path filled with combat and bloodshed, some tread a path filled with ingenuity and innovation, while others tread a path filled with enlightenment and understanding.]

[You… have chosen none of these paths.]

[Instead, you carved out a path for yourself.]

[You toil under the bloodied veil of combat, slaying each and every enemy that aims to claim your life for their own gain.]

[Even if their strength grows with each bated breath, their limits eventually eclipsing your own might multiple times over… you face them with the same level of calm as any other enemy youʼve faced before.]

[Some say itʼs a road that ultimately leads to death. Some say itʼs a road only trekked by the fearless and the foolhardy.]

[Yet… you still prevail.]

[For now, echoes of your feats have only begun to spread throughout the cosmos.]

[But with time, every being in the universe shall come to recognize and worship you…]

[As the Anathema of the Ascended.]

[Due to the feats you have achieved, you have obtained the title ʼAnathema of the Ascendedʼ.]

”…I knew it.”

”I knew something was bound to appear.”

Clenching his fists from the sheer excitement of being proven right, Ataraxia took a bit of time to compose himself before sending a message to the staff that he was planning to take a quick break.

Heading back to the area containing all the refreshments and other amenities after that, the young man then closed his eyes for a bit to calm himself down even further, only to open his eyes around 20 minutes later.

”Huu…”

Letting out a long yet controlled exhale, Ataraxia soon went ahead and asked the system to bring up the new titleʼs description, his expression a mix of curiosity and anticipation the moment a screen popped up in front of him.

Ding!

————

[Anathema of the Ascended] (Title)

Rarity: Mythic (Special)

All beings tread the path to supremacy. However, only some… description has been omitted.

Note that the effects of this title scale off the number of enemies you kill that are at least Elite-tier or higher.

Effects:

> 0.1% boost to all stats

> 0.2% boost to Attack and Defense

> 0.2% boost to damage dealt to enemies that are at least Elite-tier or higher

> 0.1% reduction in efficacy of reduced damage against higher-leveled beings

————

”…Huh.”

Although the notifications that came before the actual title led him to believe that the new title he obtained was possibly similar to [Apex Hunter] in function, the young man still could not help but feel a tad disappointed at how small of a boost the title offered.

After all, with him continuously fighting against high-leveled and high-tiered monsters for the past three days or so almost non-stop, wouldnʼt it make more sense for the system to give him a title that was proportional to the effort he put into it?

Fortunately, just as he was about to dismiss the title as an incredibly inferior version of [Apex Hunter], Ataraxia decided to take a look through the titleʼs description one more time to see if there was anything he missed.

Unsurprisingly, there was.

”The effects of this title scale off the number of enemies you kill that are at least Elite-tier or higher…?”

Muttering these words to himself as he read them, the young man then proceeded to ask the system if there was any way to see how many Elite-tier monsters he had killed thus far.

In response, a small screen promptly appeared beside the screen containing the titleʼs description, its contents listing down the number of monsters he had killed for that specific monster tier.

”…Ah.” With one quick look at the list, Ataraxia quickly figured out what was going on, prompting the gears in his mind to start turning as he thought to himself. ʼSo each 1,000 kills for one tier increases all of the titleʼs effects by either 0.1% or 0.2%…ʼ

ʼIf I kill 10,000, then that means the effects are now either 1% or 2%.ʼ

ʼIf I reach 100,000, then itʼs close to what [Apex Hunter] offers.ʼ

ʼ…And if I reach a million kills for a certain monster tier…ʼ

”I should kill more monsters.”
