MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

1139  Watching from the Sidelines

By the time Schoʼdoxa was finished with his explanation, those who did not hesitate to consume the pill after they heard his first statement instantly turned green with regret, doing whatever they could to stop the pill from being absorbed by their bodies.

Unfortunately, before they even began their attempts of coughing up the golden pill they just took, the pill had already taken effect within their bodies, causing them to undergo a variety of changes not long after.

Whoosh!

Seeing as these people filled with regret earlier changed their expressions to that of surprise and delight after a bit of silence, most of the people there eventually began to look at them with curiosity, wondering what exactly made them react that way.

With that, they decided to look at the pills they received for answers, activating their identification skills as they recalled Schoʼdoxaʼs words from earlier.

Ding!

[Catalyst of Greater Potential] (Item)

Rarity: Legendary

An unassuming golden pill that would mostly attract oneʼs attention due to its appearance. However, one consumed, it would allow those that consumed it to tap into the depths of their slumbering potential.

Once consumed, this pill has a high chance of improving the userʼs already awakened hidden stats by 1 to 3 points.

This pill also has a moderate chance of awakening one of the following hidden attributes within the user: Endurance, Dominance, Weightlessness, Defthand, Intellect, Acuity, Insight, Fortune.

This pill also has a low chance of awakening one of the following hidden attributes within the user: Ferocity, Tolerance, Panacea.

ʼHoly shit.ʼ By the time Valyr was done reading through the description he brought up, the young man was left at a loss for words as he stared at the golden pill he received.

Looking around as he stored the pill within his spatial bracelet, it did not surprise him that many of the people whoʼd chosen to postpone their consumption had shocked expressions on their faces as well.

After all, not only did the pill increase the hidden stats oneʼs already awakened by a couple of points, but it also gave one a chance at awakening a hidden stat that Valyr felt was the gateway to high-tier hidden stats.

ʼYeah. The pill has a moderate chance of awakening that set of stats.ʼ Reading through the description once more, the young man was eventually able to confirm his suspicions. ʼEven though one could consider them the most general among the high-tier hidden stats available, they still boost oneʼs main stats to a far higher degree than the hidden stats I already have.ʼ

ʼNot to mention the fact that each hidden stat focuses on a specific main stat,ʼ thought Valyr to himself, only to shift his attention towards the last couple of lines. ʼThen again, those hidden stats are nothing compared to the Panacea stat.ʼ

Unlike the other hidden stats that the pill had a chance of awakening, Panacea was a hidden stat that one could say to be similar to Might and Tranquility in the way that they all gave the user access to an ability.

However, unlike Might and Tranquility, which gave Valyr access to [True Rage] and [Zen], respectively, Panacea was a hidden stat that gave one access to a considerably powerful passive skill.

After all, not only would the passive skill render one immune to all sorts of debuffs, curses, and any negative effects, but it also significantly increased oneʼs health and the rate at which it regenerated.

Whether it was the immunity or the improvement it brought, the hidden stat eventually became so popular that some of the high-ranking players in the past actively sought out those who had that hidden stat.

It was to the point that even Valyr wanted that hidden stat for himself back then, recalling how those had that stat immediately became the main tankers for the high-ranking parties.

ʼWell, thatʼs all in the past.ʼ Bitterly smiling after unexpectedly reminiscing over a slightly embarrassing time in his life, Valyr eventually closed the screen he brought up after his curiosity was satiated.

Taking in a deep breath to compose himself after that, he then put the thought of the pill to the side, reminding himself of the words Schoʼdoxa told them about the pill becoming better as more rounds passed.

With that, the young man was able to return his attention to the arena below, even though a considerable portion of the people surrounding him continued to discuss the effects of the pill.

In fact, some of them went ahead and consumed the pill even after Schoʼdoxa had advised them to save it for later.

Briefly glancing at these people who made the decision to consume it after already doing all the research they possibly could, Valyr could only inwardly let out a sigh at them before returning his attention to the arena one last time.

With his perception pushed to the very limit, the young man was only able to view a small portion of the over 25 million people that were going through the second round.

Nevertheless, even a slight shift in angle was enough for him to view hundreds of people fighting the beasts as hard as they could, hoping that theyʼd kill the fifth beast and move onto the third round.

However, as more and more time passed, some of the people in the arena eventually ended up making a mistake here and there, causing the momentum they built up to all crumble into nothing in front of the beast they were facing.

To those who were sensible enough to realize their limits, they took this as a sign to surrender, allowing them to return to Veldanyr with their lives intact.

Unfortunately, there were also those who took it as a sign to push even harder than before, only for them to realize their grave mistake once their injuries grew too severe.

Yet, before they could even voice out their forfeit, the beasts they fought showed no mercy, taking advantage of their moment of weakness to end their opponentsʼ lives.

And thus, the 341 people who automatically passed the second round watched as the 25 million figure gradually decreased with the passage of time.

At the same time, they watched the ground gradually get more and more soaked with the blood of those that bit off more than they could chew, causing their expressions to turn cold by the time the entire arena ground turned blood red.

Then again, it did not take long for their expressions to turn into that of slight relief, seeing as the second round took far less time to finish than the first round did.

In just two days since the first round ended, the second round finally came to a close.
