MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

1133  The First Round

”Whatʼs Earth? Whatʼs an extraterrestrial planet?”

”Seriously, whatʼs a planet? Is that like a spatial realm or something?”

Unsurprisingly, many of the people on the field became confused once Schoʼdoxa was finished talking about the special opportunity he was talking about. After all, the man made use of jargon that sounded like gibberish to them.

Fortunately, there were a few that understood what the man was saying, their eyes glinting in excitement as they gave everyone else a brief explanation as to what a planet was.

As for Valyr, he was still left at a loss for words from what he just heard, ignoring all of the discussions that were happening around him regarding planets and what they were.

Thankfully, it only took a bit more time after that for him to finally regain his bearings, prompting him to let out a faint sigh as he looked at the four surrounding him.

”To think Veldanyr was a planet…” Wells muttered, with Edward nodding in agreement. ”I didnʼt know that.”

”Iʼve heard some of the guildʼs senior members back then mention about there being other planets beyond ours,” said Julian as he looked at Noel. ”However, this is the first time Iʼve heard of a planet that also has life in them.”

”Itʼs more common than youʼd think,” replied Noel. ”Though, only those that have broken through the Myth level are able to explore them, much less travel to them in the first place.”

”According to them, heading to one takes at least a century, sometimes even longer.”

Unintentionally listening in on the conversation between Julian and Noel, both Edward and Wells paled after hearing the words that left Noelʼs mouth.

As for Julian, the man frowned for a bit before glancing at Valyr, only to notice that the young man did not seem surprised by the information at all.

ʼWell… he did enter the Four Pillarsʼ Inheritance back then.ʼ Just as Julian was about to ask him why he didnʼt seem so surprised about it, a sudden thought allowed the man to answer his own question. ʼHe probably received knowledge on planets from there.ʼ

Oblivious to what was going on in Julianʼs mind, Valyr briefly pondered over the words Schoʼdoxa mentioned earlier, only to then realize what was going on as he put two and two together.

ʼSpecial opportunity… upcoming version…ʼ inwardly murmured the young man to himself as his eyes gleamed with understanding not long after. ʼNow I see whatʼs going on.ʼ

ʼFrom the special opportunity alone, I shouldʼve figured out that this tournament had something to do with the public version of Greater Beyond,ʼ thought Valyr after that as he inwardly had a wry smile. ʼThough Iʼm not sure what Schoʼdoxa means by finding certain individuals through the tournament, what I am sure of is the fact that this tournament is highly likely to be the systemʼs way of preparing everyone for the players.ʼ

”Alright.” After giving everyone on the field more than enough time to talk about the opportunity, Schoʼdoxaʼs voice echoed throughout the area once more, causing everyone to immediately turn silent.

”Now that Iʼve roughly said everything I needed to say for now, let us move onto the first round of the tournament.”

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

At the moment the man was finished saying those words, the man conjured a ball of energy on both hands before throwing them in the air.

Then, within a matter of seconds, those balls of energy transformed into carbon copies of the man that hovered before them, causing many to look at Schoʼdoxa with widened eyes.

Throwing a few more pairs of energy balls into the air after that, the man eventually made nine copies of himself in total, controlling them with his thoughts to stand on both of his sides.

”As Iʼve mentioned before, the first round shall act as a filter,” said Schoʼdoxa, his words also echoing out from the nine copies at the same time. ”In short, Iʼll be checking to see if your strength is enough for the second round.”

”If you meet the minimum qualifications I have in mind, then you pass.”

”If you donʼt, then I shall be returning you to your home planet.”

”Though, aside from returning you to your home planet, for those that donʼt pass the first round, I shall also be giving you the title of Tier I Being before you leave,” continued the man, causing everyone to raise their eyebrows in curiosity as to what the title meant.

”This is the lowest title everyone here is guaranteed to obtain, which has something to do with the upcoming version.”

With that, Schoʼdoxa then began to explain to everyone that once the new version finally arrived, an influx of beings that looked like them would appear out of thin air all of a sudden, all of them having the ability to speak their language.

Hearing that all of these beings had the protection of the system, almost everyone on the field were left at a slight loss for words, with some of them even fearing that those beings would take over what they had.

Thankfully, the manʼs explanation after that, alleviated many of the peopleʼs worries, telling them that those beings were more likely to aid them in their various problems rather than not.

Other than that, those beings would also all start at Rank 0, which was more or less the same level of strength everyone on the field started with.

Of course, as someone who had memories from his past life, Valyr knew that Schoʼdoxa was talking about none other than the players of Greater Beyond, prompting him to be more certain of his hypothesis from earlier.

ʼI still donʼt know what Tier I Being means, but Iʼll be able to find that out sooner or later.ʼ

With that thought in mind, Valyr watched as Schoʼdoxa and his nine copies landed to the ground before evenly distancing themselves from one another.

Then, in unison, the ten of them told everyone on the fall in line in front of the nearest Schoʼdoxa to them, telling them that all they needed to do was to have him look at them before being informed whether they passed or failed.

And with that, amidst the slight confusion, the first round began.
