Reborn and Counterattack: The CEO's Powerful Sweetheart

Chapter 1462: Chapter 1461: That’s Not Quite Right

Gong Qingwan pursed her lips and said calmly, ”Eldest Young Master, that’s not right. Things that haven’t been evaluated definitely shouldn’t enter the market. Our company is quite large, and if anything goes wrong, who can bear that responsibility?”

Li Yan replied unhurriedly, ”Since we want to conduct market testing, we need to purchase patent rights. We can’t just use someone else’s invention to test if our product is safe without any cost, can we? I think no one would allow that. Besides, it’s illegal. Actually, a 30% share of the profits is a small amount for this project because its potential earnings are much higher.”

Gong Qingwan didn’t continue to argue on this point because she understood in her heart that Li Yan was right; that’s indeed how it is. What she needs to consider now is whether to cooperate or not, and using such a transparent trick makes her seem somewhat unscrupulous and can also make others think she’s too despicable.

Li Yan is no fool either; he certainly wouldn’t offer such resources to Gong Qingwan without an equal exchange. So whether the invention rights are really in the hands of Li Yan or some technical personnel, Gong Qingwan has no way of knowing.

Gong Qingwan felt somewhat angry but couldn’t explode, so she had to endure silently and said, ”Handing over a small portion of the profits is no problem, but we also need some initial investments. If we have to give away a part of our investment, there’s a significant chance we might end up incurring losses.”

Li Yan laughed softly and said, ”Expecting a return without investment is no different from trying to catch fish with an empty net. If Madam Gong really thinks this way, perhaps we shouldn’t proceed with this cooperation. It’s better to let the technical personnel find a better place to cooperate.”

In truth, this technology made Gong Qingwan’s heart flutter. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have gone to so much trouble.

In this situation, there are no other options left, only a single answer remains, and how to choose is up to Gong Qingwan. Li Yan cannot make the decision for her.

However, there is also a crucial problem. With so many senior executives present, if Gong Qingwan gives up, regardless of who the technical personnel cooperates with, this matter might become a laughingstock later, and they will all say she was utterly foolish.

Moreover, with Gong Qingwan presiding today, no one will say a word about the Eldest Young Master; instead, they will say Madam Gong blocked the way.

No matter what, it’s all extremely unpleasant to hear.

The Eldest Young Master really calculated well, steadily including Gong Qingwan in his plans, just waiting to give her a surprise during the meeting, catching Gong Qingwan off guard.

Gong Qingwan sneered, almost unable to keep up the pretense, and said, ”The Eldest Young Master really thinks far ahead, managing to find such good talent.”

On the surface, this sentence praised Li Yan, but in reality, it was mocking his deep schemes, having made all the thorough preparations so early on, giving her no opportunity whatsoever. If someone said he had just thought of this, Gong Qingwan would never believe it.

After all, the research at the branch company had been ongoing for a long time. They battled day and night but couldn’t figure anything out, yet someone else resolved it easily. In light of this, she really felt that those people were a waste, of no use at all.
