Reborn and Counterattack: The CEO's Powerful Sweetheart

Chapter 138: 138: Is this really fate?

Back then, Bei Jiafei’s skills were outstanding. She applied to the performing arts class with admiration, yet the admissions officer was Qiu Xue’s aunt.

She knew very well that if such a unique voice entered the performing arts class, it might very well replace Qiu Xue’s position.

It was this narrow-minded self-interest that led Qiu Xue’s aunt to steer Bei Jiafei towards choosing the instrumental major. Later, she even went out of her way to conceal Bei Jiafei’s vocal talent, not giving her any opportunity to learn singing at all.

However, she never imagined...

Bei Jiafei diligently practiced singing, never giving up on her dream of music, and even won a prize at the Army Day event, almost replacing Qiu Xue’s place.

Everything was initially wonderful, but one morning, Bei Jiafei suddenly found her voice hoarse, unable to speak without any apparent reason. No one knew what exactly had happened.

Bei Jiafei’s voice was completely ruined...

She also retired and returned home because of this...

Gu Tong vividly remembers that Bei Jiafei left the Royal Hospital ward with tears, using her hoarse voice to say, ”Qiu Xue! I want you dead! I want you dead!”

This incident shocked Gu Tong, and she later asked Qiu Xue about it.

At that time, Qiu Xue nonchalantly said, ”Then hate me! If your voice is ruined, you can’t blame anyone else, that’s just fate!”

But is this really fate?

Thinking back on everything that happened, Gu Tong doesn’t believe so.

Given Qiu Xue’s ruthless behavior, there’s a high probability that this matter was orchestrated by her.

”Don’t praise me... No matter how well I sing, I can’t get into the performing arts class choir, what’s the use...”

If Bei Jiafei hadn’t noticed something strange, she would have been a complete fool, but what she had thought was not deep, and she hadn’t realized the other elements.

Perhaps, this is what is called pure-hearted.

”Is being in the choir useful?” Gu Tong had a faint smile on her lips.

”Of course, it’s useful...” Bei Jiafei said with bright eyes full of longing, ”The choir lets you stand on the stage, lets you exhibit your voice, sing loudly. I also want to stand on that stage, like them...”

She is someone who loves music passionately; music almost became her soul. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have tried every way to seek medical treatment later to cure her voice.

”Don’t you want to do a solo performance?”

”A solo performance...”

Bei Jiafei was slightly stunned. How could she not want to...

But she didn’t dare dream; the only soloist in the performing arts class was Qiu Xue. As for the others, they were replaced one after another, and none could truly secure the soloist position.

Even if she was envious in her heart, it was of no use.

”Do you want to be a soloist? I can help you!”

Gu Tong’s voice was filled with temptation, even a hint of hope, and these words slowly sank into Bei Jiafei’s heart.

”Really...” Bei Jiafei said absentmindedly.

”Really! As long as you listen to me, I promise you can take the stage as a singer! I guarantee you will become wildly popular, but all of this is premised on you listening to me!”

Bei Jiafei is the best weapon against Qiu Xue. Hard work can make up for lack of natural talent, but it can’t replace it!

Qiu Xue couldn’t compare with Bei Jiafei’s talent at all, because Bei Jiafei’s voice was unique, and no one could replicate it.

”As long as I can take the stage, I’ll listen to you...”

Bei Jiafei was filled with joy, with endless longing for the stage. It was something rooted in her bones; she wanted to ascend the stage, to stand on it, to sing to the audience and, even more, to make a name for herself.

Good, very good!

Gu Tong always liked ambitious people, because although ambition could be considered a weakness, it was also a kind of aspiration. She was willing to sacrifice anything to achieve her dreams, and such people were easy to manipulate.

She paused slightly, reminded of something, and said, ”First, you must tell me, why were you singing in the warehouse?”
