Reborn and Counterattack: The CEO's Powerful Sweetheart

Chapter 137: 137: It’s simply the sound of heaven.

The next day.

The sunlight was imbued with a hazy intoxication.

Gu Tong had already set off for the Academy. Instead of reporting to her class, she found a moment to slip into the arts class.

In the early morning, it was practice time for the arts class, with exercises for various vocal parts. Harmonious scales from different instruments blended together, echoing in the ears like a beautiful symphony.

Through the glass, Gu Tong saw a familiar figure reflected in her pupils.

...

Qiu Xue stood in front of the piano, her hands crossed over her abdomen, her long lashes lowered, casting a slight shadow on her fair face as she sang a beautifully melodic tune.

The entire training room was enraptured by the song.

After the song ended, applause thundered in the room. The vocal coach and the performers all cast looks of envy and satisfaction at Qiu Xue.

”Wow, Qiu Xue, you sang so beautifully. Your foundation is the strongest in our arts class...”

”It’s simply the sound of heaven, and what’s more, your high notes and breathing are steady, just like Bai Ling...”

”You’ll definitely come out on top in this art performance...”

The room was filled with various praises, but they were not baseless. Though Qiu Xue’s voice was lovely, it was apparent that her vocal conditions were average. However, her voice was focused, and her breath flow was smooth, the result of hard practice. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have achieved what she later did.

...

Gu Tong turned slightly, retracting her gaze, but a faint curve appeared at the corner of her mouth.

She didn’t greet Qiu Xue but rather left leisurely, heading towards the arts class warehouse.

The moment she arrived at the warehouse, the first thing that caught her eye was the dilapidated tin house. Although it had been painted army green outside, it still couldn’t hide its age.

However, Gu Tong wasn’t disdainful; instead, she was thrilled. If her memory was correct, that person was right here...

Then, she pushed the tin door with one hand, and just as she opened a crack, a magnificent voice slipped through the gap.

Perfect melisma, inherently nimble timbre, and steady breath—yes, that was the voice!

”Who...” The voice abruptly stopped, leaving only a questioning tone.

She saw a petite girl standing in the center of the warehouse, her face full of embarrassment and unease.

”I’m sorry to disturb you.”

Gu Tong felt deeply apologetic, lowering her eyelids as she said, ”I was drawn here by your singing unexpectedly, not intending to disrupt you... You sing so beautifully...”

The petite girl was slightly embarrassed, a faint blush rising on her cheeks, as she said uncertainly, ”Really...”

”Really!”

Gu Tong asserted affirmatively.

The petite girl looked a bit bashful and said, ”I’m not a singer... I study instruments. I can’t compare with the professional singers in the arts class...”

Her name was Bei Jiafei, a typical modest village girl. When she took the exam for the arts class, she was afraid her singing skills wouldn’t meet the standard. Urged by others, she entered the arts class through her instrument specialty.

”Not at all, I think you sing wonderfully!”

Gu Tong knew that Bei Jiafei, in her past life, had become a renowned singer, outshining Qiu Xue at various award ceremonies.

She overshadowed many of Qiu Xue’s advantages, yet such a professional talent had been dismissed.

However, no one knew that back when Bei Jiafei was in the arts class, she had no fame at all, and moreover, she never had the opportunity to perform.

Outsiders couldn’t understand the reason for this, but Gu Tong knew the truth!
