Reborn and Counterattack: The CEO's Powerful Sweetheart

”Push-ups?” Li Yan’s thick eyebrows rebelliously arched upward, his obsidian-like pupils filled with doubt.

If Gu Tong had said she was looking for training, that would have been fine, but why specifically push-ups? With so many training methods available, wouldn’t it be better for her to train based on her current physical condition?

”Don’t worry about it. I just want to do push-ups...”

Time was running out, and Gu Tong didn’t have the luxury of explaining. She urged, ”Are you going to teach me or not?”

”I’ll teach.” Although he didn’t know the reason, since she requested it, he had to fulfill her wish.

”Then teach me now...” Gu Tong insisted.

”Now?”

”Yes... right now...”

The time was ticking closer by the second, and Gu Tong made a decisive move, pressing against Li Yan’s body, softening her voice, and saying, ”Please, darling, teach me... I don’t know anything, it’s so embarrassing...”

She used all her tricks, determined to have Li Yan do push-ups with her.

Li Yan was filled with confusion, but he couldn’t resist her. He immediately positioned himself with one hand on the ground, in the standard push-up starting position, then began doing push-ups in a rhythmic manner.

As he did them, he explained, ”You do it like this, you...”

”Don’t talk!”

”...”

Gu Tong quickly interrupted Li Yan, almost immediately lying down next to him and starting push-ups as well, letting out a small grunt, saying, ”Make some noise...”

”???”

Truly, the thoughts of women are as deep as the sea; one moment she doesn’t want him to speak, the next she wants him to make some noise. What on earth does she want?

”You need to make exertion sounds...” Gu Tong turned her head, her eyes filled with anticipation, even a bit of pleading, looking just like a pitiful little puppy.

”Hmm hmph?” Li Yan’s tone rose at the end, clearly in question.

”That’s right, just like that, keep it up, give it your best...” Gu Tong’s face lit up with joy. If her hands weren’t occupied, she would have given a thumbs-up in praise. Truly, he was teachable.

Her dark eyes glanced at the clock again, just in time!

...

”Oh, Qiu Xue, how virtuous you are.”

As Qiu Xue was going upstairs, she brushed past the returning Countess, who teased her as the words reached her ears. She looked up, and it was the wife of Li Yan’s subordinate, a First-level Scholar.

”Hello, sister-in-law.” Qiu Xue’s almond eyes curved like a crescent moon, smiling politely without seeming distant.

”Good, good...” The scholar’s wife glanced at the basin in her hands and laughed, ”Washing clothes for the Earl?”

”Yes...” Qiu Xue blushed, her whole demeanor shy, like a budding flower.

The scholar’s wife, well-experienced, couldn’t help but laugh at the young girl’s manner, saying, ”Our Earl is truly lucky to have Qiu Xue looking after him, no worries in the future.”

”Sister-in-law, please don’t tease me...” Qiu Xue’s face turned beet red, instantly feeling a little embarrassed.

”Hahaha... I wouldn’t dare. Who knows when I might have to start calling you ’sister-in-law’ myself.” Wives usually adopt their husband’s titles, so if Qiu Xue married the Earl, they would all undoubtedly call her ’sister-in-law,’ she said, ”Alright, I won’t tease you anymore. Go take the clothes to the Earl; he must be waiting impatiently. I have to go back and cook for the kids.”

The scholar’s wife teased her a bit and then stopped, knowing her limits. In the future, the ladies of the Academy Courtyard would need to get along harmoniously, so establishing a good relationship with Qiu Xue in advance was undoubtedly a smart move.
